An app which I have never purchased shows as an update on the App store. When I try to deal with it shows as being purchased by someone with a different apple id than me. No one else uses my Macbook Pro. A "Genius" at one of my local Apple stores spent over 2 hours trying to fix this and could not do it. His last suuggestion was to go home, back up all the data an take the computer back to the Apple store to reinstall the operating system. Any simpler ideas to solve this problem.???

Timeout on Mountain Lion update in the App Store
Has anyone come across this? I upgraded three of my Macs to Mountain Lion successfully and downloaded and installed the HP Printer update from the App Store. When I came to do the same on my brand new MacBook Air yesterday I kept on getting timeouts in the App Store, just for the update pack. Anyone have the same issue?
They usually remove the previous version. If you need to purchase it, contact the App Store.

My husband and I both have iPhones on the same account. When he did his update yesterday, he chose both his number and my number during set up. Now he is getting my messages, too. Can someone please help me fix this?
What do you mean he chose his and your number during setup. Chose them for what? Is you number showing up in the Settings>Messages>"You can be reached by imessage at" section? If it is he needs to remove it.

I have recently update my Final Cut Pro X to Final Cut Pro X 10.1. I downloaded the update from the app store. Now every time I open Final Cut it crashes almost instantly. What can I do?- I really need help!
It sounds as though you have a corrupt project - or possibly a file within an event that is causing the application to crash.
Quit FCP X, then move your projects and events (if you have any) to new folders so that FCP X doesn't find them, then relaunch the application. If it launches OK, there's a very good chance one of your projects or events is causing the problem.
Quit the app again, then move one event or project at a time back to the original folder and launch FCP X again - keep going until you find the cause.

Just want to echo this complaint.
I have tried re installing Aperture 3 and I've looked for preferences or something to clear, but nothing helps. It continues to crash each time I open it no matter what. -
Is there a way to remove installed updates from the App Store update window? I keep getting an alert that I have an update for Apple Remote Desktop. It says its installed, but the alert and the app keep showing up. Annoying!!

Reinstall OS X
To reinstall OS X, go > Restart.
When your computer restarts, hold in both the Command (⌘) and the R keys until you see the OS X Utilities window pop up.
If you are not connected to the internet, choose a network from the Wi-Fi menu in the right corner of the menu bar (in the top right corner of the screen).
Select Reinstall Mac OS X, click Continue, and follow the instructions.

I have I movie 10.0.03 on My Mac On Friday there was an update on the App store which crashed Mid Download, Now when I try and retry the download I get the Following error message,This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled< has anyone else had this problem?? Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list. Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

I use iphone5, I see an app update on the app store. but when App store and click on the update tab, it doesn't show me which application to update.. just gives me a blank page.!!!! I wouldn't able to know what app has to be updated, untill and unless i get check for each every app on the app store installed on my iphone... what is the solution for this.!!!! can any1 one help me out.!!!!

You can probably change the ID in the "iTunes and App stores" settings on the iPad....click on the wrong account ID , select sign out, then log in with your own ID, I have not done this but I think it works.....

On my iphone 5, I can't see any apps that require updating, but it shows a notification badge on the App Store saying that I have 11 to update? Does anyone know how I can get around this?
Did you tried to remove the App Store app from multitasking bar?
Double click the home button and hold down an icon. Then tap the little x to remove the app. Click home button ones and try again to use the App Store to update your apps. -
Why does I have always JAVA update on the App Store even I have uninstall JAVA on my MacBook Pro

RomaricDs store is NOT correct. I don't have Java installed, and I never get those Java updates in the App Store. They will only show up if you have Java installed.
However, you say you REMOVED Java. There's really no good way to remove all components of Java once installed, so you still have some parts of Java installed somewhere, and that's triggering the updates.
Don't worry about removing Java, just disable it in any web browsers you use. See:
