I'm running Firefox 8 but want to uninstall it a load V7 so my McAfee site advisor will work. Why can't I get a link to download a previous version? Can I get V7 somehow?

McAfee Site Advisor will not run on Firefox 8. I would like to go back to V7 swo it will run but cannot find a link to the prior version. How can I get Firefox 7?

The McAfee site advisor used to work before with earlier versions of Firefox but now no longer does since upgrading to the latest version. It still works with Explorer so it a Firefox version compatibility issue with McAfee. The PC runs on Microsoft Vista.

I am sure that it is only their toolbar that is incompatible. To verify that and ask if they currently support Firefox 5 with their add-ons, go to the following address and post your question(s). Changing their toolbars to be compatible with any browser is their responsibility.

Firefox 5.0 won't work with mcafee site advisor-will this be fixed soon?

When I downloaded firefox 5.0 it checks for incompatible add on etc. and it deleted mcafee site advisor which shows which web sites are safe to use. I went back to firefox 4.0 because it works with site advisor. I'd like to use the newest form of firefox, but want mcafee site advisor enabled. Will this be fixed?

Had flashplayer 10 something and it worked fine. But my harddrive crashed two weeks ago so downloaded latest flashplayer.

When will firefox 4.01 be compatible with McAfee Site Advisor?

I get pop-ups offering the latest version of Firefox (4.01) but when I go to install it, it warns me that my McAfee Site Advisor will not work with this new version. It is more convenient for me to play videos in Quicktime since iTunes is such a memory hog. Please help.

You may get better results if you switch to this alternate version: iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) and, if needed, reinstall QuickTime. The new (nearly) all 64-bit version doesn't seem to play well with QuickTime. Perhaps if DRM authentication is required QuickTime needs to be able to see something that is part of the older 32-bit code.

See McAfee for an updated version of that Site Advisor add-on. Hopefully they have it completed, as they have been promising it for the 3rd week of July ever since Firefox 5.0 was released on June 21.

Hi musicfan, Sorry you are having problems with Firefox. Maybe you should have asked earlier and we could have fixed it.
Reading your comments I do not see that rolling back to an insecure Firefox 22 will actually help you much. You are probably best using IE, unless you have also damaged that.

You should not use old versions they are insecure. Security fixes are publicised and exploitable.

Most others will not be having such problems. We are now able to say that with confidence because after developers missed a regression in Firefox 4 telemetry was introduced so that data was obtained. It may be an idea to turn on your telemetry, if you have not already done so, and decide to stick with Firefox.
