I'm trying to apply a logo graphic to a photo?

I'm brand new to Adobe Photoshop Elements and also not very handy with computers.... I can't figure out how to add my logo to my photos, any help would be much appreciated?

Select the new layer with the logo (use Window> Layers if you don't see this). Click the Move tool and the logo will be selected. You can now move it by clicking in the centre and dragging it around, or resize it by clicking and dragging the anchor points. Hold down the Shift key while doing this to maintain the proportions.

Best Way To Cut Texture From Logo Graphic?

Hello. Can someone please advise me on the best way to CUT a texture from a graphic AND still be able to use mutiple colors on the new graphic? To more specifically illustrate my question/problem, here are the steps I've taken:
1) I created a map graphic as seen here:
2) I was able to cutout a grid shape from the map graphic, using the pathfinder tools. As seen here:
3) I then found a texture that I want cut out of graphic I just created. Since this is for a logo, I need the texture to actually be cutout of the shape, not just sitting above it as a white colored layer. As seen here, this is what the map graphic looks like with the texture layer over the top of it.
4) The only way that I know of, to cookie cut the map graphic with the new texture is to hold the "alt/command key" while pressing the "minus front" option found in the pathfinder tools pallette. The only problem is that when I do this, a compound path is created, which converts the entire graphic to a single color as seen here:
I need the graphic to be the original 4 colors. The odd thing is that I was able to cut the globe grid lines out of the map layers just fine (and still able to change colors), yet now I can't when I'm trying to cut the texture from the entire graphic.
Summary: Can someone please tell me how to achieve the graphic below. I need the texture to be cutout of the graphic. The only way I can figure to cookie cutter the texture from the graphic is to create a compound path via the pathfinder tool. This leaves me with a proper cutout shape I'm looking for, but all in brown and with no ability to change the graphic back to the original 4 colors.

Thank you very much for your replies to my question. I really appreciate it. Mike, in regards to your suggestion about just changing the white layer's color as needed, that is an option, but really only suitable for web use. My concern would be if the logo were to ever be printed on non white colored paper. Trying to match the color of the texture layer to that of the paper color could prove to be quite a challenge without test prints. If the matching is not done correctly, the transparent effect would be lost. That is the main reason I need to cookie cut the texture from the logo graphic.
In regards to the suggestion by all of you, I did try to use the transparency option, but the "make mask" button is grayed out and unclickable. The "clip" and "invert mask" options are also grayed out. I'm assuming it's because I am not grouping or merging my layers as needed. I've tried everything I can think of but no luck. Again, I need to maintain the 4 colors of the logo, so I can't use compound paths (which convert everything to a single color).
Here are the steps I took to try to create a transparency mask:
1) Selected my finalized world graphic.
2) Selected my texture layer (on top of the world graphic).
3) Opened up the transparency panel, in which it won't let me create the mask?
4) I tried different variations of my layers (grouped, ungrouped, merged, united) but no luck.
If I'm misunderstanding things, my apologies. I'm obviously doing something wrong. This is just not something I've dealt with much in Illustrator. I watched the video and see how she is able to use the transparency mask but for whatever reason I can't get it to function for my task?

Starting in June of this year I had been trying to apply my company's
Verizon discount to my account. The first time I went in the tech said that
in order to do that the account, which was in my wife's name, would need to
be switched to mine. But after doing some checking he said that wasn't
necessary and that they would send an email to my work email which would
include a link. I was to click on the link and then follow the instructions
and since this was being done from my work email the discount would be
applied to my account. I did that and naturally the discount never appeared.
I went to the store again 2 weeks later and attempted to do the same thing
and was told the computers were down and they couldn't help me.
I returned again the next day and the computers were still down. I went in
again the next day and the computers were back up and a tech tried to
change the account to my name so my company discount could be applied but
was having trouble getting the name switched. He phoned someone at Verizon
and worked with them for a while and eventually put me on the phone with
them. I gave them my information and told them what I wanted to do and
after some time with him he said that the discount had been applied. Again
the discount never appeared.
The end of August I went into the store with the intention of not only
trying to get the discount but to upgrade 2 of the 3 phones on my account.
We picked out the phones we wanted and discussed an upgrade to the account
and got all of that settled. At that time I mentioned that I wanted to
change the name on the account so I could get the discount and the tech
mumbled something and then told me that he couldn't do that. We continued
with the phone and plan upgrades and left the store. What I found out later
and what the tech failed to tell me was that Verizon was offering 1 Gig of
data per month for each upgrade, so I got 2 addition Gigs a month for free
which did show on my account summary.
The following week I again went into the store in an effort to get my
company discount. I was told again that the account name would need to be
changed to mine which I agreed to. After an hour and a half, 2 techs and 2
calls to Verizon the name was switched and the discount applied, at least
that was what I was told, I'll verify that when I receive my next bill. At
that point I asked if the 2 free gigs were shared data and was then told
that in order to change the name on the account the old account needed to
be closed and new one opened with my name and because of that any
promotions that were on the old account no longer applied. I was never told
this at any time during the process and if I had known I might not have
changed the name in order to keep the free data. This also wouldn't have
been a problem if the account had been changed any one of the 5 times I
tried to change it prior to it actually being changed. This whole ordeal is
completely unacceptable and was incredibly frustrating. I lost 2 gigs of
data, which has disappeared from my account summary and which I still feel
I'm entitled to, because of the incompetence of not only one Verizon tech
but several of them.
I am wondering if anyone at Verizon is interested in resolving this issue
by giving me the 2 gigs of data that i deserve.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

Error trying to apply patch 11.1.1.5.3

I am trying to apply IDM patch 11.1.1.5.3 to a fresh install of IDM. I have IDM running on an Oracle Linux 5 server along with Weblogic and SOA. The database is hosted on a second server. The base IDM install works fine.
I am trying to patch to 11.1.1.5.3 and running in to an error saying...
Patching component oracle.oim.server, 11.1.1.5.0...
[ Error during Update inventory for apply Phase]. Detail: OPatch failed: ApplySession failed in system modification phase... 'ApplySession::apply failed: Current access level does not allow writing to the inventory'
I am installing the patch with the same oracle user used to install the base product.
Any ideas on what I need to do?

Nevermind. I downloaded the newest OPatch. I used the OPatch that was in the /Oracle_IDM1 directory and the patch succeeded.

I am trying to apply a lens filter in CS6 to a mp4 movie from the phantom 2 . I do the normal steps of lens filter and choose dji, phantom2 , and I click ok and the picture improves and there is less curve etc. What I don't know is why it seems to revert

I do the normal steps of lens filter and choose dji, phantom2+, and I click ok and the picture improves and there is less curve etc. What I don't know is why it seems to revert back to the old movie when I come back later on. I know I saved it but I must be doing something wrong. Here are my steps:
Open an Mp4 movie
Choose filter, lens correction
Choose dii
choose Phantom FC200
click ok and the image improves.
I then save as a name.psd and close the file.
I reopen the file and it looks good. When I play the movie it just jumps back to the old curved horizon.
What am I doing wrong? If you can help me I would be very grateful.

System Preferences shuts down when trying to apply .CR2 image as background

I have been trying to apply a photograph taken in RAW as a desktop background image. The file is .CR2 and when I click done to set it as the background, the background does not change and the notice comes up that System Preferences has unexpectedly shut down.

As far as I know, the things you can do with a RAW file are pretty much limited to processing it with photo editing software. You could use iPhoto and save it as a jpg file.

Trying to extrude my logo in AE from a vector file made in AI but AE reads it as transparent.

Cant figure out what I am doing wrong. Trying to extrude my logo in AE from a vector outline in AI. I watched tutorials on how to do both. My logo imports fine into AE and then I right click on it and choose "create shapes from vector layer". It then shows all the correct outlines forming my logo but all but a very few outlines are transparent therefore AE will only extrude the few that are filled in with a color. I select the individual groups and it show that they are filled and are at 100% opacity but they are not. There is nothing there to extrude. I've tried changing options in AI and saving it different ways with no difference in the way AE reads it. Is my LOGO just too complicated?

We can't know. We don't know what it looks like. From open paths to things like too many anchor points to unfavorable nesting of compound shapes there could be any number of reasons why it doesn't work. And you have not provided any system or version information to boot.

Tried to apply movers coupon towards Macbook Pro

I have been a loyal customer of Best Buy, since I was a kid. So when the time came to purchase a new Macbook I went to purchase it at Best Buy. During my checkout I had tried to apply the movers coupon, but the manger would not accept the coupon. I read online that it didnt apply for apple acessories, but can be applied on laptops.

I’m sorry to hear about the issues that you’ve had trying to use this mover’s coupon on the purchase of a MacBook Pro. It certainly sounds like it’s been frustrating.
As avm5689 pointed out, if you did not go online to register your coupon, the store would not be able to apply it to your purchase. Otherwise, the mover’s coupon should be good on any MacBook Pro. One thing that it a bit confusing though is whether or not you have actually made the purchase already? I was not able to locate any purchase information for you with the email address you registered on the forum. Can you also confirm if you’ve registered the coupon code online to activate it?

I have just installed ES4 LC with only the Rights Management Module. I have everything setup and can access the Policy server from Acrobat pro XI and can see and create policies.
however when trying to apply any policy to my PDF I get the Error in the Subject line.
for all intents and purposes, the setup and configuration looks fine but I seem to be unable to get past the very last step and actually use the policies.

Do you want quotas for this leave?
First, check T554S if you have screen = 2001 and HR Deduction flag activated. This will enable the quota deduction.
Then, you will have to configure T556A for the quotas
Finally integrate all this with T556C - deduction rules and put more details on the selection rules on T559L.
V_T554S_WEB just maps it to the frontend. I believe the big question here is if you have enabled the quotas and quota deduction for this absence type. That is why it's giving the issue.

When an employee is trying to apply leave through ESS he is getting a error message. below is the error " employee 00000000 has no valid organization assignment for 27.08.2010". we have checked all the configurations in SAP back end.

Navigate to t.code HRUSER and see the assignment.
This should resolve the issue.

I'm trying to apply an animation preset but it's not working.

I'm trying to apply an animation preset but it's not working. I've done every procedure to apply a preset to a layer. But there seems to be nothing happening. I can't for the life of me figure this one out. Adobe help simply says drag and drop the preset onto the desired layer, did it and nothing happended. What am I doing wrong? Please advise.

Exhange 2013 not working after trying to apply cumulative update 6

Please can you help. Its been over a week since I tried to apply cumulative update 6 on my instance of Exchange 2013 and I am getting nowhere with it. With any user intervention it came up with errors in the middle of applying the update. I can't continue
the installation nor can I roll it back. Most of all it has rendered the server useless.
When I run the update I get the following error;
