How much of a hurry are you in, and are you considering upgrading to Lion?
File Vault on Snow Leopard only encrypts home folders you select, and doesn't work well with Time Machine.
But Lion will have "full disk encryption" of local or external disks.  See File Vault 2 here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/whats-new/features.html

  • Any third party software that replaces SecMon and IDS-MC

I am looking for any third party software that may replace SecMon and IDS-MC. We have had so many issues with it that it is time to find a solution by looking for another vendor to manage Cisco's NID's. If anyone has had any luck please let me know.

CWSIM is another tool that you can use to get log messages out of sensor. for management purposes if you have a few sensors then you can use IDS device manager.

  • Is there any third party software that will allow me to print CD labels from iTunes?

I want to be able to print a CD label from a song list I burnt to CD in iTunes. Is there a third party software that will let me do this since iTunes won't?

    Hi,
If you wish to merely transfer files, one idea could be to have one ftp or web server on each machine, and then use appropriate clients (ftp programs or web browsers).
TCP/IP software is available under System 7.5.5. The 8100/100 can use standard RJ-45 Ethernet cabling via a suitable adapter for AAUI-15 (such as the Apple Ethernet Twisted-Pair Transceiver M0437).
For the Mac, the now free program NetPresenz could perhaps be of interest as a server solution.

  • The third party software that Apple used to have on their website

For years, Apple had lots of third party software listed on their website. Now, it's gone without so much as a link or even a paragraph of text to find it.
Anyone know what they did with it and where I can find it?

Mike, I see it's answered... or is it?

  • I need something that will allow me to resurrect my old hard drive.

Recently my powerbook G3 died (unrelated to hard drive issues) and I took a few of the parts out of it that were still good including the hard drive. It is a IBM Travelstar 10 GB, 2.5 inch.
I got a new ibook G4 and now I'd like to find someting that will allow me to dig up the files on the old hard drive and transfer them over.
I recently tried a device that was intended to work as a shell for the hard drive and connect it to my new computer via a firewire port. This device didn't work and I had to return it because the pins on the hard drive didn't match up with the connector.
    Any recommendations?
thanks in advance for any assistance.

  • I just purchased a new imac and my HP Color Laserjet CP1215 pinter is not supported by HP.  is there a workaround/third party software that will make it work?

I just purchased a new imac and after connecting my HP CP1215 color laserjet printer found that HP does not support this printer.  I contacted Apple support and they could not supply any help.  Is there a alternate way/software avalable to make this printer work with my imac?

Of course, once I posted this, I tried again and downloaded the driver without issue.
My second question still stands, however:
Scanning is not supported on my printer model with the Hewlett Packard Print 2.12 driver. Will support be forthcoming, or did Mountain Lion brick my scanner?

  • Hi,i hav a new laptop nd my songs on iphone is not stored in this computer, how can i store this songs from my iphone to my computer using itunes?? i hav tried other third party softwares but to use them i need to pay....pls help if possible.

I am using itunes 10.4.1.10 version nd my iphone 4 is on 4.3.5....if anyone can help me would be very greatfull.
    Thank you.

If you are not interested in purchasing any software, then your only other choice would be to take your iTunes backup that you made of your iTunes library and copy that over to the new computer. If you do not have that, then it could be difficult. However, if all of the content was purchased through iTunes, then after authorizing the computer with the Apple ID the songs were purchased on, you can transfer the purchases to the new computer.

  • Burning a Premiere CS5.5 project using third party software

HI All. Maybe you can help me. I have just spent a few days creating a promotional video, a pretty simple one using audio from SonicFire, transions and titles from the title maker in Premiere. No fancy stuff from Adobe After Effects, only Premiere Pro CS5.5. It is under six minutes long. I sent it to Encore using the dynamic link like I usually do, clicked the Build button and it started. A moment later it told me "Encode Failed". I have no idea why and it seems after scouring the forum, no one else does either. Could be anything they say and then a bunch of grumbling about poor support. I agree. Anyway, someone mentioned third party software to burn the project with, but I have not been able to find anything that says there software is compatible with Premiere. I really don't want to have to go back and do the whole thing again, hours and hours and hours. This is the first time this has happened and the first project that I really, truley wanted to burn to a dvd as it is a promotional video of an invention of mine that I want to market. It is perfect on the project monitor and plays just like I would like it to play on a DVD, but  DAAAAA! What am I to do? I even thought of videoing the project window with my camera, but I don't think that would look very good. Can anyone give me a hand here. Spark, on the coast in Northern California. I will send a pre-appreciation to anyone who can help. Thanks

Thanks you Ann. I have review the link and have answered the
questions that it suggests. I hope this helps you help me. Have patience.
I’m using Premiere Pro with all updates up to date.
    I’m using Windows 7 64bit.
All the footage is from a Panasonic PV GS36 mini DV camcorder. Just a
little $300 one and whatever codecs that are involved with that.
Full text of error message is: “Encode Fail”
When the problem occurred I was trying to burn it to a DVD using Encore
    5.1.0.342 version.
I’ve only burned several projects to DVD, but it has always worked before.
I have never created such a complicated project with so many clips and
transitions and titles. Three video tracks and three audio tracks. The
audio is royalty free music from Sonicfire Pro5.
I have all kinds of software on my computer, Cyberlink, Kodak, LG, Paragon,
    Smartsound and on and on.
No third party effects or anything like that that I know of.
Whe I look under General/Scratch Disks, the Mercury playback engine is
grayed out in the general window, so I don’t know if I’m using it or not.
The project plays just as it should in the project window.
These are the answers to the questions that I found on the link that Ann
sent me. So if there are any other questions I will be happy to research
them and get back to you with the best answers I can come up with. I’m
coming direct from Premiere 6.0 to Pro CS5.5 and I’m old and slow with a
slipping memory, but I wan to learn this. And please don’t tell me that I
should hire a professional. I don’t need to hear that. Totally
unproductive. Thanks for your efforts so far.  Spark

  • Third Party Software on 3

    Hello All
I have the fabulous E61, however, sadly have it on the UK Network 3, didn't think anything of it until recently tried to use Worldmate and Morange - 3 dont support third party software - I almost laughed down the phone. Can you believe that, with all the great software out there and 3 wont have it on their phones.
Anyway, after an email or 2, I am being called later today, to rectify this, apparently it can be done, so I'll wait and see and let you know if this is successful.

Well had my call from 3 (call centre is completely useless). It has been confirmed that 3 block all third party applications, whether or not they are pre-installed on the phone by Nokia.
I have written a very strongly worded letter to the CEO of 3 - will wait and see if that does anything. Perhaps they will be able to flash the phone to get rid of the 3 **bleep**.

  • Third party software for sony dvd burner

I would greatly appreciate anyone recommending inexpensive software that would work
with a sony DVD/cd rewritable drive I just purchased. On the box it said it was mac compatible, but
of course I later found out, only if you purchase mac compatible software. Sony provided a list of third party software that works with the device but its hard to know which ones work WELL with a Mac.
    (I have a mac mini.)
    Thanks for any tips.

It should just be recognised anyway.
You can use the Finder, a Burn Folder or Disk Utility to burn data discs.
iTunes, Garageband to burn playable CDs and DVD backups.
    iPhoto to burn photo slideshows.
iDVD burns DVD Video discs that can be used in any player.

  • Un installing third party software

I've been unable to find any way of un installing non Mac third party software that I've installed, but now no longer want to be installed. Program is called 'Skype'.

How to throw it to trash? I can't find the third party software

  • Intune & Third Party Software Automatic Updates

Can Windows Intune ensure third party software such as Java, Adobe Reader, & Flash is updated? I at-least want an email when a PC has an out of date version of the above software. If Windows Intune can't do
    this, any recommendations?
We're a small business that simply uses Windows Intune and Office 365. Recently a PC had a vulnerable/out of date version of Java and visited a compromised site, resulting in a nasty virus. Obviously I don't want this to happen again.
Update: I ended up using GFI Cloud's patch management to address the lack of automatic third party patching in Windows Intune.

That requires manually uploading patch files for third party software daily... I'm looking for something that can automatically update common third party software that cause major security concerns, or at-least notify me when they are out of date.

    Hi,

  • IDocs for Notification and Work Order messages to third party software

    Dear all,
Our client have a third party software in which he intends to manage the Notifications for PM. Now he wants that, when the Notification is created into SAP, the Notification number from SAP to be sent to the third-party software. Also, from the WO created from the Notification, to the third party software have to be sent the WO number and the status of the WO and, each time the status of the WO is changed, the new status have to be sent to the third party software, until the status of the WO is TECO.
Please, can you help me, I am totally uninitiated of the IDocs and I don't know if there are some standard IDocs that can be used for this and how to manage them.
Thank you very much for your help.
    Kind regards,
    Sorin

    Hi Sorin,
There are idoc types INOTIF and IORDER available but please refer to SAP note 812542 which states that the recommended way of transferring the data to third party software is to make use of the available BAPIs. Please note, the mentioned idocs will not benefit from future developments, but they
will still be  supported in their current state.
However, please refer to the existing PM BAPIs in transaction BAPI. Specifically BAPI_ALM_ORDER_GET_DETAIL and BAPI_ALM_NOTIF_GET_DETAIL can be used to read
data from the order and notifications. This data can then be exported in a way that suits your requirements.
    I hope this helps,
    Siobhan
