i am trying to update my ibook 10.4.11so i tryed leopard but it said i needed  10.5 anyone know where i can get this from or anyother ideas please help

What is your need to upgrade to Leopard? So you can sync to iPhone, iPad, etc?
Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard installation system requirements

Leopard is no longer available at the Apple Store but may be available by calling Apple Phone Sales @ 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753).
If you can't obtain a retail install DVD from Apple, look on eBay or Google the installer part numbers to possibly find at an on-line store. Here's what to look for:
    MB427Z/A  Leopard 10.5.1 install DVD
    MB576Z/A  Leopard 10.5.4 install DVD
MB021Z/A  Leopard 10.5.6 install DVD (single user)
MB022Z/A  Leopard 10.5.6 install DVD (5-user family pack)

Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard Installation and Setup Guide
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/leopard_install-setup.pdf
After you install the base 10.5, download & install the 10.5.8 combo update at http://support.apple.com/downloads/Mac_OS_X_10_5_8_Combo_Update
The DVD should look like this
Caution - Leopard does not support classic mode. So, if you currently open OS 9 apps in classic mode, you won't be able to do this if you upgrade to Leopard.

  • I have old Macintosh LC that recently passed on,  anyone know where I can get this repaired or have the data transferred into something else?

I have an old Macintosh LC that recently went down.  I am located in the Portsmouth, NH area.
Anyone know where I can get this repaired or have the data transferred??

How much $$ do you care to spend to transfer the data on the LC's 40 or 80 MB hard drive?  The original LC is now 21 years-old and has little if any market value (I know - I have an LC I and an LC III), so professional repair will easily exceed that.  It's considered "obsolete" by Apple's authorized repair shops, so parts are not available.  Was it starting up normally before it stopped working, and if so, were the date & time always correct after it had been disconnected from an electrical outlet?  If not and if startups have been hit or miss for a while, your LC undoubtedly needs a new PRAM battery installed.  It's a 3.6-volt ½AA lithium battery and is installed in a black plastic holder w/retainer cover clipped over it on the LC's motherboard.  The battery can be purchased at battery specialty retailers for about $8 or less, as well as from a number of online merchants.  If you don't mind paying 2-3 times the value of the battery, Radio Shack carries it.  If you need directions for installing the battery, post back.  It's the least expensive thing to try and a new battery has brought many a dead Mac back from the dead.  As for the internal hard drive, it could be removed and installed in a slightly newer, pre-G3 Power Mac having an internal SCSI bus.  If there are any thrift stores in your area, you might find a suitable Mac for this purpose.  This would involve removal of the hard drive from the LC and installation in the newer Mac, with a slight change in the LC's SCSI address jumper placement.  Once installed in the newer Mac, the files could be copied.  If this is more challenging than you planned on, you might check your area for a Mac User Group, where you might be able to take your LC and have someone transfer the files for you.  After the files have been transferred to another medium, you may have problems trying to open them on a newer Mac running a newer OS version than the LC's (System 7.0, 7.1, 7.5.x, or 7.6), if the programs aren't compatible.

    Hi Pharao,
just made quick 'n dirty a website, which will (hopefully...) explain and show, how to modify an iDVD theme to your needs..
in result, the videoDVD's menu will look like this:
    (this is an iDVD-generated menu!)
    you wanted something like that...?
    follow this link:

... too many pics to publish the workflow here.. (lots of pics with nice red arrows.. ), but it is just a 3-step process ...

  • Anybody know where I can get Nforce3 SATARAID drivers for XP 64-bit?

    HI guys,
I have a MSI K8N Neo2 Plat, on 1.8mod bios with a pair of Seagate 160gb SATA drives. I have a pair of Ballistix 3200 512mb sticks and a 3500+ cpu, with an Nvidia AGP 6800 vga card.
I have the RAID array created fine, but I can't find the two driver files for XP 64 bit to load at the F6 prompt.  I tried loading the stock ones but of course they don't work.  The only other files I've found are in an .exe, which I obviously don't need on THIS pc (old laptop) as it tries to install everything.
Are there WHQL 64-bit drivers that will work yet?  I've been searching google for two days but only find old broken links and .exe files.
    Thanks for any help guys,
    Chris

Aha! Found I had a bad floppy drive, a new one resolved the above error message.  Now I can't get the windows install to go past the first reboot, it reinstalls over and over without ever progressing.  It's progress, and the RAID drivers do appear to install from the F6 floppy, but after the proceeding install segment (and subsequent reboot) I go back to square one.  Do I perhaps have a badly burnt CD?  I have gotten through the first major file write without any errors or skipped files, but I'm a bit lost at the moment.  Any input would be helpful, thanks guys!

i got new iphone and when i connect it to my pc, it lost all my current data and replaced it with the backup on my computer, which is from april. so i have lost all my calendar information and schedule. does anyone know how i can reverse this and get my information back?

Every backup replaces the old one, so, unless you included the backup folder in your computer backup routine, you can't get back your calendar info.
The only time iTunes will not replace a backup is, when you use it to restore from, this one will stay in the backup list in iTunes.

  • Does anyone know where I can get Operating Instructions for the Sony BVW-75 Betacam SP?

I have been trying without success to find Operating Instructions for the Sony BVW-75 Betacam SP I just bought. Does anyone know where I can get it?

Thank you for trying to help. All of those links are for the product brochure, service/maintenance manual, or other products. I have spent several hours following Google search results and eBay searches with no luck. That's why I am reaching out to the technical community to see if someone has an instruction manual somewhere in the back room of their studio.

  • Does anyone know where I can get replacement case screws?

I've got a 12-inch PowerBook 867MHz that I've had for 3.5 years, so there's no more AppleCare on it.
My Hard Drive just died on it, and in the process of getting into the case to replace the drive, I discovered that the screw under the F11/F12 key was seized and ended up stripping the head of it while I was trying to remove it.
So, I've got two problems now:
    1. Does anyone have any ideas of how to remove the screw?
    2. Does anyone know where/how to get replacement screws for a 12-inch PowerBook?
    Thanks!

I have a HP Envy dv-7225dx silver laptop. Recently one of the screws came loose somehow and I did not notice this until it came loose. Now I have lost the screw and part of my laptop is literally coming apart when I open my laptop. as a result I have to use a bit of force to put it back.
I have some screws but none that are small enough.
Does anyone know where I can get a couple replacement screws (in case this happens again) and how much it would be?
From what I know, the screw is narrow/thin, small and black. Also if anyone knows the measurement of the screw that would be great!
    Hi,
I suggest to buy laptop screws from ebay. There are plenty of them for cheap.

Does anybody know how I can get my Mac Book Pro back, which was stolen after a class I taught?

Sorry to say but you are out of luck.
What To Do If Your Mac Is Lost Or Stolen
If you activated Find My Mac before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if it is connected to the Internet by Wi-Fi. What you cannot do is track your computer using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your computer for you. You cannot recover your loss unless you insure your device for such loss. It is not covered by your warranty. Be sure to report the loss or theft to the local police. Have the serial number handy. If your Mac is found it cannot be returned to you if you don’t have the serial number and proof of purchase.
