I'm trying to take the bookmarks from my iphone 4 to my linux laptop and don't know how.

Question

I know how to sync perfectly fine, but am fearing if I do it might just wipe the ones off my phone.
So how do I transfer them from my phone to laptop?

Do you mean delete the music from your phone, or copy the purchases over to your computer's iTunes ?
If delete then you can enable the left-hand sidebar that used to show automatically on previous versions via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC - you can then select the Music category under the phone 'device' on that sidebar and use the right-hand side to select and delete music from it.
If you want to copy your iTunes purchases over to your computer's iTunes then File > Devices > Transfer Purchases should copy them over (if you are using a PC and the drop-down menus aren't showing then control-B should get them to do so)
