I made a book in iPhoto in november and ordered 2. I would like to order a third but it is not showing in my library anymore. I fear it got inadvertently deleted. Does apple keep a hard copy of books purchased?

BTW - Once a year is NOT a backup - I use TM so I have at least one per hour plus do a daily clone for a second one and an occasional offsite one (10 or 12 times a year) for the third one

I'm a Windows PC user, and I'm currently in the process of combining my 12,000+ song library on my laptop (we'll call it Library A) with a 180,000+ song library (Library B, and yes, one-hundred-and-eighty thousand) onto a new hard drive. I have successfully moved Library A from my laptop onto my new hard drive. The method I have tried so far to move the Library B music into A on the new hard drive is by using the "Add Folder to Library" and selecting only a small portion of the folders in Library B's media folders as not to overload iTunes and to be able to pinpoint problems.
This worked for a few small iterations but the moment I tried doing half of the "A" artists (alphabetically), most of the music doesn't show up in the library. Some of it doesn't show up in the regular library but in the "Recently Added" playlist, and some don't show up in either. I have even tried adding just single files now and those don't show up at all.
THEY ALL SHOW UP IN THE MEDIA FOLDER ON THE NEW HARD DRIVE. That is why I think this might be true but I'm not sure: I've heard that it is because iTunes needs to process all the songs before it shows up in the actual library. Is this true? I have waited over an hour for adding about 6,000 songs; half showed up right in the beginning and half haven't yet. When I added about 4,000 just before this, they all showed up without any problems.
Any help? And is there an easier, error-free way to add this many songs into a new library at once? I'll keep this updated for anyone trying. Thanks in advance!

finally somebody with the same problem! i bought a new external drive because i was running out of space and backed up my entire library. then my computer crashed and i wanted to take advantage of a clean drive and not add my whole library back onto my computer. i'd love to be able to access my music folder on the external and have that show up as my library on iTunes when connected...
i followed all the steps as closely as possible and am pretty confident that my advanced preferences in iTunes are correct, but the library does not show these songs from the external drive. have you had any feedback or figured it out on your own?! i hope so, i'm at a deadend. -
I successfully synched photos from my mac book iphoto to my new iphone 5 (icloud did not do the job). Now these photos appear on my phone in three places--iphoto app, last import, and photo library. Does that mean that they take up three times the memory? Will that affect iCloud? Sorry for the end-user questions!!
HHi, thank you for the reply. I have checked my iPad and iPhone and neither has iCloud Photo Library (Beta) enabled. Turned off in both. Photostream is turned on.
i tried to sort it out by dragging all the photos to Events on the Mac and then deleting them from iCloud - (left hand side of iPhoto under the section 'Shared'). the photos now show up in Events. I did force quit but the issue remains. The message reads ' photos are bing imported to the library. Please wait for import to complete.'
i can't empty iPhoto trash either. The message read "Delete error. Please wait for import to complete.'
WHen I was moving the photos to the Events I always had a message about duplicates - to the effect that the photos already existed, did I want to import them? I clicked on Yes, import all duplicates. But when it showed the images - duplicates side by side - one showed the photo and the other was blank.
I really don't know what to do! And I don't know how to handle my iOS devices. Is it to do with the large number of photos? Any help, advice appreciated. -
I made an album in iPhoto and when it plays through the "slideshow", heads are cut off in some of the pictures. How do I fix this?
When running a slideshow from an album it will not run properly if the photos are sorted manually. Sort them by any of the other options, title, date, rating, etc. and it will play correctly.
Send a report of the problem to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.
If you must sort them manually create the slideshow in the slideshow mode in iPhoto, not from an album.

I made a slideshow in iphoto and downloaded it to a flashdrive and also exported it to my desktop and to Quick Time Player. Then I burned it to a DVD. It will not play on a PC. What can I do to get it to play on a PC?
Install Quicktime on the PC.
Or, you can use iDVD to create a standard DVD. -

I have only one ID software is presinstalled and software was "not hidden" or even showing...I just got various error messages and ID errors.
It was not spotlight indexing either.

Close Mac App Store
Go into this folder
/Library/Application Support/App Store
Drag this file to the desktop
adoption.plist
Repen Mac App Store and log in
If it fixes your problem, great, if not, you can move the old adoption.plist file back"

I made an iMovie from iPhoto pictures that both look GREAT. Watching the DVD i burned on a Playstation2 makes the pics look fuzzy. Why? how can i fix this?
MPRWhen you watch on your Mac, it is at or near HD 1920x1080 pixels (about 2 megapixels), depending on the resolution of your screen. Most photos today are 5 megapixels or greater, depending on your camera, but anything over 2 megapixels must be reduced when put in a video.
When you create a DVD, you must further reduce it to 640x480, standard definition. This is about 0.3 megapixels. iDVD will do this for you.
You can fix by creating an HD movie in iMovie. You can Share this using Share/Export Using QuickTime to an MP4 container using the h.264 codec. You can then put this movie on your PS3 using a USB thumb drive.
That should give you good resolution.

I have taken pictures with both my Sony camera and my iPhone of items that are linked to a database that I am building, as well as my website. How can I bypass importing the images into iPhoto and simply downloading the images as "files" not "photos" so I can access them with my database? thanx.
If your Sony has a removable memory card you can use a card reader to copy the image files from to a folder on your Desktop and then move them anywhere you'd like.
Since the iPhone doesn't have a removable memory card you can try using Image Capture to see if you can manually upload the files to a folder on the Desktop.
If you have to import the photos, which are image files, into iPhoto you can then export them out of iPhoto to the Desktop and go from there to your database. Just because they are in iPhoto doesn't prevent you from using them elsewhere.

My images will not show in the Finder Pictures folders, but just display as jpeg thumbnails. I have to open each one to see what photo it is. This has just recently started to happen.
I made sure the 'Show Icon Preview' box was checked. This is about all I can do, really, Frank, as i don't know enough about the workings of these machines to start fiddling about.
Strangely the images show as previews in some folders, yet not in others, even though they come from the same sources (my camera and my phone). -
I have just upgraded to Mountain Lion and my signatures for my Mail are not showing up. I have the signatures inthe preference panes and selected for the email address, but when I make a new message, the signature shows as none and doesn't give me a choice. Yesterday, the signatures were stacking instead of switching to the one I wanted to choose.
I had this and fixed it.
I had upgraded to Mountain Lion and my signatures in Mail were fine. But then about a week later, I got a new computer and used Migration Assistant to copy my stuff to the new machine. Upon opening Mail, I had all the correct Signature information in the Preferences>Signatures window, but nothing worked.
After lots of hunting, I found the Signature Folder. It's in:
Yourusername>Library>Mail>V2>MailData>Signatures
Looking at my previous setup (which works) I saw in that folder two types of files: .webarchive and .siganture
Looking in my new machine's Signature folder, I saw only the .webarchive folders, not the .signature folders
Since this was literally a clone of my previous setup to a new machine, here's what I did:
1. Quit Mail
2. In Problem machine, go to
Yourusername>Library>Mail>V2>MailData>Signatures
3. Move the Signatures folder someplace safe, but out of the MailData folder
4. Get the Signatures Folder from the working install (like a backup) and copy it to the MailData folder on the problematic machine
5. Start Mail on the problem machine
This worked for me. I don't know why Migration Assistant didn't copy the full signature folder, but this fixed it. It worked perfectly partly because I had just backed up with Carbon Copy Cloner and the very next day set up the new machine. I don't know where Lion or earlier versions of mail stored signatures, but the absence of the .signature filetype seems to be the problem.

Music not showing up in library after drag and drop (7.0)
Music will not show up in library after draging and dropping .mp3's into itunes. Also won't show up if I try the File > Add Folder to Library. The processing files box shows up like its going to work, but it just doesn't. I have tried many differnet mp3's, some actually DID import.
Also, double clicking on an mp3 will bring up itunes, but it will not load or play the song.
I currently have 55.5GB of music, and 10,158 songs. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.
xw8200 HP Windows 2000Try holding down the Shift key in Windows when launching iTunes. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to an existing one. The default location for your iTunes library is in \Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\. I upgraded to a 4g and the most recent backup (today) is not showing up. The most recent backup that showed was 3/3/12. I went ahead and backed up to that date and found that my texts, phone calls and messages are the part that did not backup.
Can anyone tell me 1) why my most recent backup did not show in ITunes, 2) why I could not backup using the Cloud (I tried this way first), 3) how I can get all the phone calls, messages and texts from 3/3/12 until today? Please help if you can...thanks!I found the answer on:
