You cannot do this. iPhones have to be activated with a service plan before any of the features, including the iPod features can be used.

How would I be able to use my iPhone 6 in Australia?
I shall be on a vacation in Australia with my mother and sister for three weeks. I would like to use my iPhone 6 to take pictures and play games while on the plane and in this country. Since I am currently a US citizen, I think this will charge me money. My mother has told me about a 'SIM card'. Would this be too much for just those three weeks?

i am trying to purchase an ipad mini from a friend but it is locked. It is asking for the apple ID and password. Can i use my apple ID and password to unlock it?
The previous user needs to do this, or the iPad can't be used. If the person selling it is not the previous user, the iPad may be stolen.

I think you should try a quick experiment on your local wireless provider's network.
First turn off wifi (settings-wifi-toggle to off). Open safari and ensure a webpage will load. Then go to settings-general-cellular-and turn off cellular data. Attempt to reload the webpage, the webpage should not load. If that doesn't convince you attempt to use anything else that uses data (facebook app, email, etc) and they will all say you don't have a connection.
Also you could call your provider and I am certain they will give you similar instructions. -

AT&T will not unlock an iPhone for anyone for any reason. Sell it before you move & purchase a phone when you get there.

Hey, as far as I know you need a sim card to activate after a restore
It however does not have to be a fully working sim card, just not blocked or with a pass code, I repair/refurb. some iPhones and can only advise to try and get a free sim card from a provider supported on your phone and activate it with this, or maybe someone can lend you theirs for 5 mins?
To clarify, I have heard there are ways around this, but they sound dubious. -

The condition of your current phone has nothing to do with upgrading to a new phone with your carrier. You aren't trading it in - you keep the old one. It can be smashed to bits and that won't matter.

Ok Apple users...Is there a way to delete e-mails on my Mac and not have to delete the same e-mails on my iPhone, and iPad...and vise-versa. I have the Cloud, and thought that everything would sync all of the time. If you know of a setting I need to adjust, please let me know.
Are you referring to @mac.com, @me.com or @icloud.com emails? Or some other email providers emails?
If the former, it should do that automatically. If the latter, no. iCloud does not (nor is it supposed to) sync non-Apple provided emails. -

My iphone 3gs will not connect to itunes and it says that I need to do a system restore. It also says that I need to enter my password on the iphone to connect to itunes but I can not do this because the phone is in emergency phone call mode only.
Turn your phone off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your phone and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a phone in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.
Unfortunately, the data on your phone is already gone if you're seeing the connect to iTunes logo.
