I need an app that will play one song from a list then pause

I currently use a DJ style CD player to play backing tracks for the trio that I play with. The CD player has a "single" button that when you engage it will only play one song from the CD and then stop/pause. I need an app that will do the same thing as it relates to a playlist. Any ideas?

It isn't an answer to your actual question but it might help:
Try creating a playlist in iTunes with that one song you need to be played. Start that playlist (ipod app) and you'll see that your ipad will only play that song.

Sorry, i did not say that i need to go out further than 1 week. This is for a church Bell Tower Music System. So we don't want to have to re program the music every week. It is happening via "shuffle" in a playlist. Always two different songs within the playlist. You can see the next song on the screen that should, theoretically, be playing...but nothing happens. Even when you push "play" on the remote, it doesn't receive the command.
I reset, then restored ATV. Now, it doesn't limit itself to two songs, but does stop after a few. The more trial and error I do, the more I believe the problem is with Homesharing in iTunes. If I turn off Homeshare, then turn it back on, a couple more songs will play in the playlist. I have shut down iTunes, restarted computer, completed updates, but nothing seems to change it.
It used to play fine for hours on end, but has now found this glitch.

The start chapter button is a play the whole movie button regardless of how many other markers you have.
Once a DVD starts playing it continues to the end.
Chapters marker simply gives the viewer a place to start playback whether it be the start, middle or near the end.

App that will play slideshow from computer continuously on smart TV?

I have a slideshow that I would like to play on the TV in the lobby of my store. Is there an app that I can run from the back of house PC over wifi that will allow for a continuous loop of my slideshow? Initially, I made the slideshow on Keynote and exported it as a movie which the TV played off of a USB flash drive. However, the TV only allows FAT32 fornatted USBs, so the movie was limited to 4GB. I would like a movie or slideshow that will play continuously throughout the day without stopping. Is there any PC app that can accomplish this (and still allow the user to do business-as-usual on the computer while the app runs?)

Ok i can play one song but if im trying to shuffle thru to another song it just starts the song over again that was just playing. I hope someone can offer some solution...

Under Settings > Repeat, does it say anything other than "Off"? On the iPod Classic, the options are "Off," which plays the current playlist through once, "One," which plays the current song repeatedly, and "All," which repeats the current entire playlist.

Is there a way to get a song to play once only on an iPod without having to make a playlist for it? I have several hundred bird songs on my iPod and would like to find a way to play one individually without having to make a separate playlist for each.

Well another solution is to make a playlist for the song. Name it whatever you wish and just add that one song to it. Then sync it to your iPod. Or if the song is on your iPod already, you can make an On the Go playlist. If you do not know how to create an OTG playlist, see the linke below. Maybe this could be a solution?

While all you want is just to place pins, realize that Motion has so much more. All kinds of effects and they can be really customized. Maybe put their street address, contact name, and phone number by the pin?

If you're using the map for, say, deliveries, and use an iPad, what you could do is have a general map of the area imported into Motion, create the pins and whatever, then save (share?) it to the iPad.

Itunes on Windows plays one song from library and stops

I am a new ipod owner and new to itunes. Loaded many CD's, videos and audiobooks without difficulty into itunes 6.0.4.2. Library of songs is extensive but trying to play songs from library results in itunes playing ONLY one selected song. I must re-select another song in order to play another. It will not continue to play the songs in the library. I have re-installed itunes and that did not correct the problem. Also tried selecting multiple songs and still itunes only plays the 1st song of the list. Obviously I've done something wrong or have not done something that is required. I've check all I know and have also not found this problem in the discussion groups. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

This'll happen when all of the checkboxes are unchecked. iTunes will only play unchecked songs if they are directly clicked.
To check all songs, ctrl+check one.

ITunes 8.0 only Plays One Song at a Time, then Stops! AARGH!

Someone, please help. I have tried everything I can think of, to no avail.
For some reason, when I play a song in my Music Library on my laptop iTunes 8.0, it stops playing after each song. When the song ends, iTunes stops; it does not move to the next song in my library, it just stops. I have to click on the next song to play that song, and when that song is done it stops.
I have tried creating Music Playlists, does not help. I have tried checking and unchecking the Repeat and Shuffle options, still nothing.
This does not happen on my iPods, only when I play songs in my Music Library on iTunes from my laptop.
If you have any suggestions for a solution, please tell me. I am beyond frustrated having to click on the next song every time.

I have the same problem with iTunes only playing one track at a time. It didn't use to be this way ... and seems to have developed after one of the recent updates (late December 2008).
I did, however, find that the problem was "solved" by checkmarking all the tracks that I expect to hear played. However, this won't work for me because ... as it has always been in the past ... I use these check boxes to tell iTunes which tracks to synchronize to my iPod. Since my desktop library is many times larger than can be loaded onto my iPod, I obviously cannot check all of the tracks.
Since when did these check marks become **ALSO** a signal to tell iTunes what tracks to play continuously on iTunes?!?
Previously, I have **ONLY** used these check-marks to signal to iTunes the tracks that should be synchronized to my iPod.
If the foregoing advice (check-marking all songs to be played continuously on **iTunes** ... then it would appear that the programmers have introduced a conflict of functions in the iTunes user interface.
The check-mark system is a simple and intuitive method to select which tracks to synchronize to the iPod ... it is not at all intuitive that you would be expected to check these **SAME** check-boxes to play tracks on the iTunes desktop.
Generally, when listening to music at home on iTunes, I prefer to listen to albums as published from the first track to the last track. Occasionally, I may wish to shuffle tracks within an album or within a genre.
However, when on the go, I sometimes shuffle music entirely. In any event, I cannot possibly download my entire library onto my iPod because of memory limitations.
In conclusion, I do not wish to tamper with my check-marks ... I know, at any time, how much memory is currently in use on my iPod and so can add and/or delete check-boxes to adjust the tracks from my iTunes main library that are played on my iPod.
Of course, then, I am massively frustrated that I cannot listen to albums continuously without messing-up my iPod library selections.
This was never a problem before ... why has this behavior changed?
This could, of course be resolved if the Apple development team added a command "Continuous Play" [On] or [Off] ... say under the [Controls] menu, logically placed above the "Shuffle" menu item.

I can't play one song from iTunes album, always asks me to reauthorize

For some reason my iTunes asked me to reauthorize and I remembered my account and password, but I still can't play one Tom Waits song. I bought the whole album on iTunes but one song I click on it to play and it asks me to reauthrize I do and it won't play. I can reauthorize a half dozen times and it won't play, it'll play the other songs on the album but not this one.
Any ideas?
