I need help reinstalling the Adobe Creative Suite
I recently had to replace the hard drive on my computer, therefore I am now having to reinstall the Adobe Creative Suite. Whenever I try to reinstall the programs error 255 comes up and it does not allow me to install the software. Does anybody know how I can fix this error? I have tried searching on the internet and have gotten no help so far.
Running out the door right now (late) but here's my situation:
1. Operating system: OS X Lion version 7.3.5.
2. Something happened, and my photoshop program refused to open: "Disk is not available."
3. I have been working with programs installed from Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Premium.
4. I couldn't uninstall Photoshop using the uninstaller.
5. Finally was able to uninstall with AppCleaner.
6. Attempted to use my Creative Sutie disk to re-install Photoshop - was told I couldn't because of "error 255".
7. Haven't been able to find what "error 255" is.
8. I'm not a techie, am trying to be careful, am stuck.

How do I get help reinstalling my Adobe creative suite 6 after IMAC IOS 10.8 crashed? Apple had to reinstall operating system and all programs & data were lost. Adobe System say serial number valid, but qualifying product can not be found on this computer.
When you're installing Adobe upgrades, there are two ways of doing it:
Have an existing, qualifying version already installed. Install the upgrade and enter your upgrade serial number. The installer will detect the earlier qualifying version already installed and the upgrade will finish installing. That is not your scenario.
The second option (and easiest on new computers with no Adobe software previously installed) is to simply install the latest version (usually an upgrade) and enter your upgrade serial number. That's what you've done so far.
The installer will look for an earlier version already installed on your computer. If it cannot find one, it will prompt you to enter the serial number from an earlier version. Once you enter the earlier qualifying version serial number, the upgrade installer will complete the installation. If you cannot find an earlier version serial number then the upgrade will not be licensed and will go into trial mode. From there you can use it for 30 days until it will no longer launch. -

John, thanks for your response! I appreciate it. When I try to reinstall just as I did before, it brings me to the section where I punch in my serial number, and after I do that, I get a message that the product has already been used or something like that.
Since I'm installing a second time, I am running into this problem. Do I need to be issued a new serial number? Do you know if there is a phone number to call a rep at Adobe?

I have had to reinstall my Adobe creative suite 6 Standard but when I key in the serial number it asked for the serial number of a qualifying product?
It's asking you or prompting you to input the old serial number of the version that you used to upgrade to your new version.

In your case, I'd highly recommend switching off auto-renewal once you've purchased your annual membership. You can make changes to your Creative Cloud subscription on the My Account page on Adobe.com: https://www.adobe.com/account.html Just click on "My subscriptions and services" in the far right column. Once your full annual membership commitment ends, go in and make sure your annual membership has fully expired and does not automatically renew. Then all you have to do is purchase your 12-month pre-paid from Amazon and make sure you use the same account information you used in your first subscription.
The only fee that you could encounter in this process is if you decide to cancel your annual memberships early: (taken from the Creative Cloud FAQ)
If you decide to cancel a 3- or 12-month prepaid membership purchased at a retailer or online store, you will receive a refund of 50% of the value of the time left on your membership. To cancel your membership, contact Adobe Customer Service.
To cancel a one-year membership, you can either go online to the Account page on www.creativecloud.com or contact Adobe Customer Service. If you cancel your membership before meeting the 12-month commitment date, you will be charged 50% of the remaining amount left on your contract.
So make sure your full annual membership does not renew after your commitment date!
After your annual membership expires or is cancelled, the applications you have installed will be deactivated and you won't be able to use them. You don't need to uninstall and reinstall them - you'll just need to enter your new subscription information in the Application Manager the next time you reopen the applications.

Currently I have been the recipient of a very bad experience regarding the manner in which Adobe is forcing me to spend more money on products without allowing me to upgrade accordingly --- or in having to speak to a FOREIGNER --- who cannot communicate properly .... please respond as soon as possible ... please.
My experience in trying to speak to someone with a 'Extremely Thick Accent' was very unpleasant and aggrivating ... and ended up 'going no where.'
I need to speak/communicate with someone who can help in using the product that I have paid a lot of money for.

My computer recently was wiped, I used my external hard-drive to restore the computer but lost all my programs, in trying to reinstall my adobe creative suite this message keeps appearing "Inconsistency in the installer database. Please restart your computer and install again." I have restarted and retried this multiple times but to no avail, please help!
Run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and reinstall everything Adobe from scratch. The error points to an outdated installer database already being in place, possibly from restoring your backup. You may also manually delete caps.db and any of its backups to same effect...

Hello, I had an Adobe Muse membership and I have changed it to a full Adobe Creative cloud membership. The problem is when I login in to business catalyst and try to push live a second site, it tells me as follows: Your Adobe Creative Cloud Membership has reached its limit for hosted sites.
I think business catalyst has not recognize jet that I have change my Adobe Creative Cloud Membership and does not allow me access to the 5 sites that are supposed to come with my adobe creative cloud.
Please help me refresh my status on business catalyst so I can publish my 5 sites.
