I need plug-ins for Firefox v.7 (ad and flash blockers). It can't be upgraded because my Linux netbook has 500MB max.

running Ecafe slim HD with Ubuntu Linux 10.04 as standardized OS. They have released Firefox 7 as the official browser (probably because of lower RAM requirements). Ecafe has one 500MB DIM (which is probably why it runs Linux). Ad and flash blocker plug-ins aren't available for this version. How can we get them for this version of Firefox?

The current version of Flashblock works with Firefox 7.
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/flashblock/
Adblock Plus 2.0.3 was the last to support Firefox 7; you can get it below.
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/versions/?page=1#version-2.0.3
That being said, please note the following:<br>
You have enough memory for the current Firefox release.

Old versions of Firefox contain security vulnerabilities.

  • Are there new plug-ins for my PowerBook G-4 to allow me to see utube and other videos?

    Are there plug-ins for me to view videos and Utube videos? I am unable suddently to view either. Help!

    I did go to the website and downloaded the adobe-flash. I also read the "read me" but I'm not sure I understood exactly what to do. I removed the old flash-player in the Library/Internet Plug-ins folder and just put it on my desktop; not sure what really to do with it. Instructions said to back it up, but I don't know how to do that. Should I have trashed it??? Then I closed the browser (Firefox); reopened it and went back to the site to see if has been installed correctly (I guess no); couldn't see the video and tested it again at uTube.
    When attempting to play a uTube video, it asked me what "player". Looked in the Apps folder to see what I had: Quicktime, Real Time, and Windows Media Player. None worked. I'm still at a loss. I'm not a savvy tech person, so I might need more instruction if you're willing to help Texas Mac Man (I'm in TX, too).
    One more thing, to put in the new plug-in, I just did a drag and drop into the folder.
    What have I missed? I appreciate your help very much. This is my first time on the Support Communities.

  • Free plug ins for fcp

    so a few have suggested a couple free plug ins for the garbage point masks, and i do apreciate it, this question is in regards to free plugins in general.. how safe are they and the sites there found on? what are the chances ill ruin my new mac by putting them on my system, sorry to ask so much but im just trying to learn as i go,
    thanks in advance
    Brucey Bizzit

    Many of the posters here author them -- some without cost and some sold.
    Are the sites safe? From what?
    Never heard of a plug in for FCP ruining a computer. If they don't work or cause issues, just trash them

  • I am trying to listen to a webcast from a conference. I am told I need a plug in for Firefox. I can listen on Explorer nine without a problem. What plugin do I need for 3.6?

    I just purchased a new HP computer with windows 7. I installed 3.6. which I use as a default and had no trouble until I tried to listen to a webcast from the BMO metals and mining conference. When I clicked on listen to webcast I got a message tha tadditional plug ins were needed to display all the media on the page. I checked my system and was able to hear the test message, but I could not hear the actual webcast.
    There was a box in the message saying click here to fins needed plug ins. When I clicked on it I got a screen saying no plug ins found. I have windows media player installed. There was a space to click on to test sound system, and I heard to message on the test, but when I tried to hear the actual webcast I got the same plug in needed message.
    I then tried to listen on Chrome and got the same result. I tried to listen on Explorer and was able to hear the webcast and got no message about plug ins needed.
    Is this just a case where they won't accommodate firefox, or is there a plug in or add on that I can install so I can use firefox.

    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem.
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
    It is hard to tell which plugin is needed to play that webcast. You appear to have Flash and WMP and Silverlight. Other popular but less used plugins are RealPlayer and QuickTime.
    See:

    You can check the page source to see which MIME type is specified for that content or post a link if that web page can be accessed publicly without authorization.

  • Uninstalling plug-ins for Safari, but not Firefox

    Hi all,
    I've been driving myself kind of nuts over this. Is there a way for a plug-in to be installed only for Firefox and not Safari? I like the built-in PDF reader in Safari, but I want the Schubert-IT PDF browser plug-in for Firefox. Both browsers share the "Internet Plug-Ins" folder, but it seems weird that we can't be selective in terms of which browser gets what.
    If nothing else, is there maybe a Safari configuration file hiding somewhere that can be edited to exclude certain plug-ins?
    Thanks,
    Tim

    The issue is that it's how you have it setup  for PDF files.
    Right or control click a PDF file you have stored on the hard drive then click Get Info.
    In the Get Info panel look for: Open with
    All applications are set to open with a particular PDF viewer.

  • Since I updated to firefox 5.0, the windows media player plug in for firefox doesnt work anymore :(

    Ok I recently upgraded to firefox 5.0, and then when I went to a website that uses windows media player to watch videos and news reports, it said I needed to download the windows media player plug in for firefox. And yet I had already done that in the past. So it directs me to the plug in for windows media player 11, I download and install and it doesnt work. Website repeats the same message, you need to download plug in. It was working fine with firefox 4.0! I use the OS Windows 7, 64bit. Any help please?

    Yes I did, at first it identified it as already there, so it gave the option of repairing it, etc, so I uninstalled the Windows Media Player, then Installed it again, and it still doesn't seem to work! I have the same problem with several other plug ins, in the add ons and plug in section of Mozilla tools, I see that say, "incompatible with firefox 5.0" but as days go by those add-ons, that are built by those other websites seem to be repairing it, but I wanted to know for something as important as windows media player plug in, am I the only one getting this problem? :/

  • AdobePDF Plug-in for Firefox & Netscape 10.0.1 won't update for me

    I check my plug-ins almost daily. Adobe Acrobat needed to update. I have never had trouble before with this.
    It's Adobe PDF Plug-in for Firefox and Netscape 10.0.1 that won't update. Thing is the Adobe Manger came on and it looked like it was done and in my Add-ons box it's there but the plug-in on my Firefox plug-in page says it's outdated. I tried to install it several times and the Adobe Manger downloads but site still says it's outdated. My Adobe Reader X works fine though. Maybe this is something I don't have to worry about but I don't know. So, I'm asking for some help.
    Also, even though this didn't update correctly, when I did update the first time it brought along a new plug-in called getPlusPlus for Adobe 162103, at first I disabled it in my add-0n/plug-in box but I read that this helps Adobe Reader and I enabled it. But the Plug-in box remains grey and says unknown. So, should I disable it?
    Thanks for any help you can give me.
    Sincerely,
    Debbie

    No, it won't interfere with your Adobe Reader X as it is only the problem with the plug-in. Your Adobe Reader X will still function normally. You should receive a notice from Adobe in your PC to notify you there's an update waiting to be installed, if you have chosen to be notified:
    Open Adobe Reader X > Edit > Preference > Updater and choose whatever option you prefer.
    Or you can also check for update periodically at Help > Check for Updates

  • How can I add my software in Adobe's Third-party plug-ins for Adobe Premiere Pro ?

    Hi,
    Our company have a software called Moyea Importer for Adobe Premiere.
    Moyea Importer for Adobe Premiere is a recommended FLV, MPG, RMVB, HD  video import plugin for Adobe Premiere Pro. This plug-in enables users  to import FLV videos with various codec like AVC/H.264, AAC, Screen  Video, Nellymoser, MP3, PCM, and Sorenson H.263. Besides FLV video, the  plug-in allows AVCHD import and HD video import in MTS, M2TS, TP, TS,  and MKV formats.
    Moyea Importer for Adobe Premiere do not convert your video so it keeps  video quality for you. The plug-in automatically detects the Adobe Premiere versions on your  machine and you can choose the versions to install the plug-in. It  currently supports Adobe Premiere Pro 1.0/1.5/2.0/CS3/CS4 and Elements  3.0/4.0/7.0/8.0.
    I notice in Third-party plug-ins for Adobe Premiere Pro this part, Adobe didn't get any such plug-ins. They only have two file support plug-ins and Moyea Importer can fill the blank.
    Now I want to submit this software on Adobe's site but I don't know where to submit or who I should to contact. Any suggestions? I really need your help and I am sure it is really good software.

    Any suggestion? Admin of this board? Who can help me

    If you missed our mail last month you should check it out as it got a lot of people talking. Today we have a follow-up.
    Our web site has relaunched* and while the overall look of the site is similar there is a dramatic difference in how we are distributing our plug-ins.
    Starting today Pro Import AE, Pro Import FCP and Pro Export FCP (both versions, for FCP7 and FCPX) are available at no charge. You read this right. Free.
    We are unable to provide support at the same level as we have over the years, but we didn't want these plug-ins to go away while they remain useful. So if you can make use of these plug-ins in your projects, enjoy!
    Thank you to all of our users, working with you for the last 10 1/2 years was a truly wonderful experience.

    I don't have anything to add to my original reply - http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1433512. Which bit didn't you understand? And no, you don't need a folder for kaleidoscopes - you just put it in the filters folder as I originally told you.
    And here's a kaleidoscoped sunflower

  • Plug-Ins for Logic Express 9

    Does anyone know of any sites where one can download plug-ins for Logic Express 9 (either for free or for purchase)? Also, I know that one can use sound fonts (.au) with GarageBand --do these also work in Logic Express 9 and, if so, do they need to be reinstalled for Logic or do both programs read the same source files?
    Thank you!

    To piggy back on previous posts, I would definitely pursue Native Instruments. While some may of the plug-ins may seem a bit on the pricey side, you will certainly get your money's worth. If you're looking for strong lead and bass sounds, I would encourage you to check out Massiv - it's my go-to plug-in of choice. I believe there is even a limited demo to try if you want to play around before purchasing.
    Hope this helps.

  • Project plug-ins for adobe acrobat reader

    i have project plug-ins for adobe reader, but i dont know anything to that.
    i must complete in 2 mon
    anybody know, pls help me:
    1. what soft for programming?
    2. what language?
    3. some Ebook
    Thanks verry much

    You may need to ask in the Reader forum. Reader is not Acrobat, but Adobe Reader. Acrobat is the full product. Typically the programming for Adobe products is done with the Adobe JavaScript. I believe that is how most of the plugins are written. You might find it more useful to ask your question in the Scripting forum.

  • PDF Plug-in for Firefox on Macintosh Copy & Paste

    PDF Plug-in for Firefox on Macintosh needs to allow for copy and paste functionality using the keyboard instead of only working with a mouse click when filling out online forms.

    Yes, it's an identical copy (incl. version, dates and digitally-signed certs) as far as I can see on all these 3 folders located at C:\Program files\
    -> Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\Browser -> nppdf32.dll
    -> Mozilla Firefox\plugins -> nppdf32.dll
    -> Internet Explorer\PLUGINS -> nppdf32.dll <--- This folder and file
    Please also note that IE Activex controls (3 files - also at version 9.5.2.295) are located at  C:\Program files\Common files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX\
    -> AcroPDF.dll (PDF Browser Control)
    -> AcroIEHelper.dll (Adobe PDF Helper for Internet Explorer) and
    -> AcroIEHelperShim.dll
    Weird indeed! Any ideas?
