I need some advice on replacing my ipod touch 4th generation screen. The silver plate won't go back into it's original place and i can't put the screws back in. I really need help i don't want my ipod to be broken!!!
I started to replace my ipod 4g screen but the silver plate that goes on top of the battery won't go back into place. It's not lining up with the screw holes so i can't finish the repair. Please I'm begging you all to help me with some advice and tips!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It will be greatly appreeciated. ASAP
Your best bet is to email the company that sold you the screen for advice. Or you could search on YouTube for repair instructions. Hopefully, you will see where you went wrong. Apple will not do an out-of-warranty replacement on an iPod that has been opened.

TS2771 my ipod touch 4th generation screen is frozen...
my ipod touch 4th generation screen is frozen on the charging screen even if I try to turn it off or unplug it. Non responsive to any button being pressed. Itunes and pc will not recognize device when plugged into it. How do I fix this?
Have you tried holding both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together at the same time long enough for the Apple logo to appear. This could take anywhere from 10 seconds to a minute, so don't give up too quickly. Otherwise, try the other suggestions in this Apple support document.

Cracked iPod Touch 4th generation screen-Help!
Hello.
In December, I bought an iPod Touch 4th generation. It is 16 GB. Yesterday, when trying to take a picture, I dropped my iPod and now the screen has many cracks. However, both cameras were not damaged, and the device seems to work fine. Also I have a screen protector on it.
First of all, I dont know if I should replace it, keep it, or get a new one.
On replacing: Can the screen actually be replaced? Or can the cracks be helped? And how much would it cost? Would Apple charge me for it? (there is an apple store about 40 mins away) Or should I just take it to one of those repair shops at the mall?
On keeping it: As I said, the device works fine, but there are many cracks.
On getting a new one: I do not have AppleCare, but it has been under a year, so would the warranty be violated? Or not, because it was my own mistake? Would Apple replace it? Also, I do not have enough iCloud storage, so if I got a new iDevice, my data would be lost. Wouldnt it?
Finally, on that last topic, can you buy iCloud storage with an iTunes card? And can I cancel it?
Please help me. Thank you.Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $99. They do not fix yours.

Ipod touch 4th generation, screen doesn't work in certain apps.
Hi i have a Ipod touch 4th generation. I have somewhat of a weird problem, at least i think it is. My ipod touch screen works really well just opening apps on the springboard any where on the screen. Also in certain apps I have no problems, but in others it seems that it will not let me click on buttons toward the bottom. I found this odd because in other apps i have no problem and everything seems responsive. I have done some of my own troubleshooting and apps like google maps and the email app work fine. But other apps such as fatbooth, facebook and instagram I cannot touch icons anywhere near the bottom they just dont registar. Any help?
Sounds like a hardware issue. Your screen digitizer may need to be replaced.

I don't want to pay over £25 ($32) and I live in the UK. I have seen some posts that people have had them replaced and fitted for free too.
Anywhere from £82.44 for the 8 GB model to about twice that for the 64 GB.

You would have to ask them. -
I dropped my ipod touch and its shattered in the corner but there are multiple cracks along the whole screen everything works perfectly but I was wondering if the Apple Store in Brent Cross, London, would be willing to swap it or change it at no expense. Does anyone know about this store from experience or.....? It looks ugly now and I hate it please help and reply, for everyone living in North London going though the same problem or maybe will do in the future.
Thankyou that information was very helpful. And I was aware that the one year limited warranty does not cover accidental damage but it turned out that specific store did take back my iPod touch and covered the cost. Due to the fact my iPod wasn't even a year old. Although if it were to happen again I would have to pay about £130 to cover the cost. Apple Customer Service is amazing and they treat the customers really well.

my ipod touch has stopped working. I will plug it into a wall, or computer, and it will register that it is plugged in, but it will not charge and turn on. does anyone have any advice? thank you.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My iPod Touch 4th Generation screen cracked. :l
I was outside with my friends earlier today, and it was about 45-50 degrees. My friends gave me their phones and I put them all in a different pocket than my iPod, knowing if they were altogether then my iPod would probably break. (It was in a zipped pocket, and it did NOT fall) There was nothing in the pocket my iPod was in but itself. When I went inside my friend's house, I saw that there was a "hairline" crack running from the bottom left corner to the top right corner. I got on the Apple website and had an Apple employee call me and talk with me about if I could get it replaced. She said that my warranty was good (I got it on Jan. 5 this year) and I should go to the Apple store or order on the phone for a replacement. Since I was at a friend's house, I just told her I'd talk to my parents about it. She also said that a "spiderweb" crack is usually from external damage, and a "hairline" (just a line) is from internal damage, possibly from overheating. Do you think Apple would fix my screen? :C
Apple does not repair your iPod. They will replace it with a refurbished one. Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. A broken screen is not usually coverd by the warranty but sometimes the Genius will exchange it for no cost.

My iPod touch 4th generations screen is acting weird
I actually got the iPod maybe a year back?
It's in good condition -
hardly got in contact with water
No screen cracks
Hardly, almost no damage.
Anyway
Recently my iPod screen is driving me nuts
I use my iPod on a regular bases, 4-5 hours daily
It had been working fine for the longest time
But recently, not to much:
-the screen freezes suddenly
-sometimes specific (certain)
parts of the screen won't work, until I shut it off
(Not completely) just I press the button on top
& the keyboard starts working & everything works fine
(Like right now)
But after maybe an hour or less, it'll freeze up again.
I don't have a screen saver
And usually the problem stop after I turn the screen off
But, it can be a real hassle.
