I need to connect my Chromebook to my Canon PIXMA MG3520 wireless printer

I'm having problems connecting my Chromebook to my Canon PIXMA MG3520 wireless printer. Because of the Chrome OS, it will not connect like Windows or Mac. I need help before retire, please.

Hello Bama-85,
You are correct, printers do not install the same way on Chrome OS. I looked on the Google Cloud Print site and your Canon printer is indeed supported. Follow this link to setup your cloud ready printer.
I haven't setup a Canon printer via Google Cloud Print, but I assume it's as easy as setting up HP's printers on the print service.

  • My new HP Pavilion desktop has no usb connection option for my old Canon Pixma iP 2600 printer

    Greetings:
I can no longer locate the installation disk for my my old Canon Pixma iP 2600 printer.  I'm able to install it w/the add a printer feature in the control panel, but the desktop fails to read that the printer is connected via usb cord.  I'm not finding any option to install it as a usb printer.  Please help asap.  I can't afford to replace the printer, and I have several documents I have to print today or early tomorrow, or there will be dire financial complications for me.  I NEVER had this problem w/Dell.  (the operating system is windows seven, which is exactly what i was running on my older dell model - i have searched this forum and located a similar question, but that querent was able to find a usb option in the drop down menu for port installation.  that option is absent in my attempts).
    Thank you!

  • My Dell Inspiron 1525 is USB connected to my Canon Pixma MX 392 printer, but is "not detecting".

My Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop is USB connected to my Canon Pixma MX392 multifunction printer. Though the
printer is functioning properly in all respects, a message is showing that my laptop "cannot detect" the printer.
At the same time I'm receiving a message (wizard?) "Found New Hardware - Windows Needs to Install Driver
Software for Your Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller". My Printer folder shows my Canon is "ready",
and the Port is shown as "USB..Virtual printer port for Canon MX390 series Printer". My Device Manager
folder lists the Canon printer and fax under "Printers", and under "Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controllers"
    are listed: MX390 series (1 time); Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller (7 times); Unknown device (7 times);
USB Printing Support (2 times). I've tried unistalling and re- installing everything associated with the printer,
but get the same results. As I've stated the printer is functioning fine, but the "incessant" appearing of the
message, "Found New Hardware, etc." is extremely annoying. When I follow the "wizard's" instructions to,
"locate and install driver software (recommended)", I'm finally told to" insert the disc that came with your Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller". I don't have any discs that came with either the printer or laptop. Is
anyone able to make any sense of this...and, hopefully, offer help in getting rid of the "Found New Hardware"
    message. Many thanks!

I'm not sure the error is related to your printer.

  • HT1338 I have a canon pixma ip4300 ij printer connected to my mac G5 with an intel processor, i cannot print cd labels since i changed from the old mac OSX  processor.

I have a canon pixma ip4300 ij printer with software to print cd/dvd labels ,i origonaly had it connected to a mac with the old MAC  OSX processor, since i have changed to a mac with MOUNTAIN LION the new intel processor i cannot print the cd labels, i have downloaded software update for the printer but it still reverts back to the old software , can anyone help  thank you   Allan R

So do you have any problems using the iP4300 to print from other applications on 10.8? Just trying to get an idea of your current setup.
I ask because Easy PhotoPrint (EPP) will use your existing printer - there is no need to create a new printer. So when you open the software and select to make a Disc Label, when you get to Step 4 -  Print Settings, the software looks at your existing printer setup to check that you have a printer that will support CD/DVD printing (not all models of Canon inkjet support this).
So with regards to the problem connecting to the iP4300, is the software failing to locate a supporting printer? Can you give me a bit more info as to what is happening when you attempt to print a CD/DVD from EPP?

The problem is not the router.. the issue is the vpn has put your computer in a different IP range with a different gateway. When you turn off the vpn the computer returns to local lan and can print.
Some vpn software allows you to set gateway to use local net instead of remote gateway or access to other webistes or local lan.

I did not search much.. just grabbed the first article I could find that explains the issue.
The whole point of the vpn is whilst it is connected your computer is NOT part of the Local Lan .. it is part of the Remote LAN via the vpn tunnel.
It is also a security risk using split tunnelling so often it will not be allowed.
Plug the printer directly into the computer via usb or whatever.. Local connection will work.. not local lan.

  • Do I need airport to connect my new Mac Book Pro to a wireless printer?

Do I need Airport to connect a wireless printer to my new Mac Book Pro?

No and you don't have to use the wireless card in your MBP either.
A wireless printer connects to your wireless router. Any other device (computer) that is connected to the router either by wire or wireless will be able to use the printer.

  • Trying to connect canon MG 3522 wireless printer with no success

i am  trying to connect my new canon MG 3522 wireless with no success, via wi-fi. can u help me please?

    Hi us-1flbug,
You can try installing the drivers for the printer from the Canon USA website to ensure that the latest versions are installed. When installing the drivers, please ensure that any antivirus for firewall software that is on your computer is temporarily disabled, as these programs can sometimes block the printer from being detected on the network.  Once the printer is detected successfully, the protection software can be re-enabled.
Please click here to go to the Drivers and Software page for the PIXMA MG3522. Once on the initial download page for your model, please do the following:
    1. Verify that the operating system detected in the "OPERATING SYSTEM" drop-down menu is correct, and if it is not, please click the drop-down menu to select your operating system.
    2. Next, please click on the red arrow next to the "DRIVERS" section and click the FULL DRIVER AND SOFTWARE PACKAGE file. When you do, a red DOWNLOAD button will appear. Please click on the checkbox below the DOWNLOAD button, then click the red DOWNLOAD button to begin the download. The time for the download process may vary depending on the speed of your Internet connection and the size of the file being downloaded.
Once the file has been downloaded, please double-click on it and follow the prompts to install the drivers on your computer.
    Hope this helps!

  • Is it possible to connect HP DESKJET 1510 All-in-One series Wireless printer without USB cable?

my mom recently bought me the HP DESKJET 1510 All-in-One series so i have an at home printer for school work. but when we bought it we did not know there was a certain USB that had to connect to the printer. so we bought the wrong one. now i have a project due and i cannot print. we have a small USB that fits it but its hard to connect it to the computer and printer because its so small. so if we can have it sent to the printer without the USB that would be perfect!

    Hi,
No, in many cases printers won't come with USB cables. You need a cable which is similar to the following one:

  • I need help getting my hp laptop to detect my hp wireless printer 3050.

Shouldn't it just pliug in install and my pc should see it out there?  Well I had this hooked up at one time and I think something in my settings was changed because now I don't see it out there at all.  It detects my printer when it's plugged in by usb.  Thats fine.  But unplugged, not working.  The blue light on the printer is blinking and the report said not connecting.  Reset router numerous times.  Is there a setting that you know of that I could have changed that would effect this because I was doing something in the homegroup area and could have changed something.

Disconnect the USB cable.  Get the latest software for your printer from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page.  Install the software and when it asks, choose Network or Wireless installation type.
It will ask you at some point to plug in the USB cable temporarily.  Don't do so until it asks then remove it when it asks.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • Connecting a Canon Pixma IP3500 series printer to iMac

I am having trouble connecting my canon iP3500 series printer to my iMac (intel-based). I have installed the cd and my iMac will not recognize the printer. My usb ports are built into my computer so I can not connect the printer through a wired connection. I am connected to the internet wirelessly through an Airport Extreme connection. Does anyone know how to connect my printer so my iMac will recognize it??

One early question: Did you follow the instructions included with the printer??? From your brief post it certain doesn't sound like it. Not being critical; however, the many printers that I have installed with various computers, including 3 different Macs, always had step by step instructions which were very important to follow in the order that was given. For example, typically the printer itself is unpacked and set up with print/ink cartridges etc; then, the CD that was supplied with the printer is used to install software to the Mac; at some point in the CD installation process, the software will say to connect the printer to the computer usually via USB cable. This is a critical step, connecting the printer's USB port to the computer iMac's USB port, to enable the computer to communicate and configure the printer. This step is when the printer is installed in the computer hardware list. So, I would suggest that you get the instructions and proceed step by step. I don't have a clue what you mean when you say, "My usb ports are built into my computer so I can not connect the printer through a wired connection." What? All USB ports are "built into" computers! That's exactly how you do connect to the printer: running the USB cable from the computer port to the printer port. Hope this helps, Kristin.

  • Problem connecting Canon Pixma IP5200R wirelessly

    Hello
My problem is this: I have successfully set up my IP5200R printer to print wirelessly in conjunction with my iMac and Airport Extreme. However, if I temporarily 'switch off' the network's WEP protection which I have to do from time to time to allow a pesky laptop PC to use the wireless network, when I later reactivate the WEP protection the printer is no longer detected and I get an error 306 when I try to print anything. I then have to reinstall the printer using the USB cable to get it back on the wireless network which is very annoying. Is it possible to toggle between WEP off and WEP on without having to reinstall the printer each time?
Many thanks, and apologies for any clumsy descriptive terms used to describe this problem. I hope you get the general idea!

    Modesto:
I have a Pixma 800 and I assume setting up yours is the same as mine. You have to connect the printer to the computer via USB cable directly and set it up wired with the setup disc that came with the printer. After you've done this disconnect the USB cable from the computer and connect it to the USB port of your router. In my case, it is the Airport Extreme station. I'm not sure after this but I would go to System Preferences under the Apple and then click on printer and Fax. If you do not find the printer there, click on the "+" and after a time, the printer should show up because the printer driver has been downloaded. I don't know if your printer driver has been downloaded with the Apple OS software. Then click on the Pixma 800 which should show up and then click add. I'm not sure about the rest but you must first make a direct USB connection between the printer and the computer. I hope this starts you on the way.

  • Can't connect my Canon Wireless Printer to my iMac

I am new to imac and I am having trouble trying to setup my wireless Canon Pixma MG8150. Its not being recgonised by my imc even though I have the wifi connected to the printer. Can anyone help? Do I need the Airport Express Base Station for this?

I have Canon Pixma MP560 wireless printer and scanner. Have you installed the Canon software and drivers on your iMac? You can go to Canon website and find the software based on your printer model. Maybe this is what you need: http://www.canon.co.uk/Support/Consumer_Products/Products_OLD/MG8140MG8150.aspx? type=download&page=1
You can filter by software and by your operating system. I typically install all of them except the My Image Garden because as far as I know it's for organizing photos.
After installing, the Wireless Setup Assistant can be used to help you connect to your printer. Or you can also add/remove printers and scanners in your System Preferences.
The printer and your iMac need to be connected to the same router so they are on the same LAN.

  • Wireless Printer connection to Time Capsule

I have a Canon Pixma MP620 wireless printer that I'm trying to connect wirelessly to my Time Capsule. Is there a way to do this using the touch button method? Most access points have a button that can be pressed to receive a signal from another wireless device so they can sync but I haven't seen anything like that on my Time capsule

So you plugedd the printer into the time capsule usb right?
You need to re-add the printer in the system preferences one more time because the location has moved.
