I need to do a factory reset, but it says that I need to turn off "find my phone" and I can't do that because my screen is black
I would really appreciate it if someone could help me turn off "find my Phone" through the computer. My screen is black on my phone and I just need to do a factory reset.

I've tried all that I know how to do. My power button quit working awhile ago so I use the Assistive Touch to lock my screen. Once my phone froze, the screen went black. The only thing I can do now on my phone is hold down the home key and Siri will beep but she says "not taking requests at this time, try again later." I can't reset my phone without the power key or the Assistive Touch button. I've tried plugging into iTunes to restore the phone but I get an error message to first go to Settings in my phone and turn off "find my iPhone." I can't do that either as nothing will come up on my screen.
Make sure iTunes is up to date and try again.

Need to turn off Find My Phone.
I installed 7.0.6 on my 4S yesterday and today my screen is not responding. I've tried syncing the phone to iTunes and everything backs up; however, when I click restore I receive a message stating that I have to turn off Find My Phone before I can proceed. Since I cannot get into my phone (except via Siri) I tried to log in through the iCloud website/iTunes and delete the app from the phone but that didn't work. I also noticed that the phone thinks that I have headphones connected when I do not.
Currently I can reset the phone but I cannot turn it off, I can access the iCloud settings on the phone via Siri but I can't scroll to turn off Find My Phone.
I'm not sure how to proceed from here but any help is appreciated.You can access iCloud.com on a computer to turn it off.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

I have a restrictions passcode on my son's phone. I had recently changed the code and now what I thought was the new code, isn't working.

IF you know that, try restart your iPhone if it doesnt work try restoring your device. If it doesnt work again, you have hardware problem. Try changing your screen. -

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

I've had all kinds of trouble keeping my iTunes software current over the past year, but have found the easiest way to remedy the issue is to simply download the latest version of iTunes as though I am a first-time user and then just install it into the directory my current version of iTunes is using.
