I need to know what`s wrong

I got a new laptop from Toshiba, the satellite A500-1F4. First of all it`s very strange that I can't find anyone mentioning this model here and I couldn't even find it in the models option. Now my problem is when I start my laptop the screen works but nothing show's on it, it's completely black at the time when it's suppose to write TOSHIBA in bright red, and it stays like this for about 2-3 min then the windows welcome screen appears and the laptop works normally. But, if I close the led or the computer went to standby I can't then see anything on it!!!!
The screen is led and everything and I can hear the sound if I click the mouse or the keyboard but it's totally black, nothing else appears on it until I forcefully close the laptop and start it again then the same cycle starts all over again!!!
Can anyone plz tell me what can I do? and what exactly is the problem????

I don't know what the laws and regulations are in Europe so I can't tell you if it entitles you to an exchange or not. Here is the US it would as long as you were within the stores return period (normally 7 to 14 days). After that it would be up to the store to decide if they would exchange it or if you would have to send it in for repair under warranty. That's one of the reasons why posting here in the USA forums isn't a very good idea for people from other countries.
As for support, I can only tell you that here in the USA OFFICIAL support tends to be fairly poor. I only have a Toshiba laptop because I won it as a door prize at a store opening. Otherwise I would never have purchased one and have tried to sell this one, but no one has been foolish enough to purchase it so I could get something better.
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

Need to know what is wrong

My iPod does some funny things every now and then. The most troublesome is the fact that it turns on randomly and starts playing. But what is even more awkward is the fact that it doesn't just start playing from where it left off, it goes to the same playlist and plays that. And when I hit the menu button and it was previously in a bunch of subfolders it shows empty menus until I get back to the main menu. I frequently find my iPod with the battery dead because it did this and just played until it could play no more. Any help?

hi, i have the curve8520 on tmobile and i recently downloaded an app called KIK MESSENGER as everyone was raving on about it and then everyone said it could be a virus or it hacks into your phone, so i deleted it. Now thoough my screen went blank(white) and turned itself off and the little red light keeps flashing (definitely not dead as was n charge when it cut out) could this possbly be the app doing this or is my phone totally broke?

My macbook pro freezes and then displays a blue screen with black stripes... do you know what's wrong with it?
I have a two and half year mac book pro... I've had some issues with the screen looking scrambled when I quit certain applications, but now it's turned into something worse. I'll be working on my computer and the thing will freeze. When I force restart, the first screen, the apple logo, will be a blue tint and won't boot up normally. Then I try safe mood and it will then boot just fine. But there are blue stripes on my screen. The screen alternates from a blue tint to normal and if the computer freezes again the screen will become completely blue with black stripes. I haven't tried reinstalling my software because I don't have the startup discs that came with my computer. If I was sure that would fix it I would purchase them, but if it's a hardware issue I'm afraid that I'm screwed. I've been able to successfully get the blue off my screen by putting it to sleep and then waking it up, but that's not working well anymore either.
Does anyone else have experience with this? Is it the firmware or what? I have a MacBook Pro from early 2011 and I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.8.

I sent it in for repair inder waranty they replaced the gpu and logic board but I continued to have the same issues with the screen randomly going black sometimes I would need to reboot it in order to get the screen to go back on but it happened so infrequently and I used the computer for school so disnt find the time to resend it in to apple. Just last night the screen started to display the blue screen with black verticle lines on it. I called apple and explained to them the issues that had been ongoing since I purchased the laptop but they said because I was now outside of warantee that any repairs at thia point wouldn't be covered. Fml so glad I spent 2200 on this future proof macbook pro what a joke my sister purchased a toshiba laptop for 300 4 years ago and it still running like a champ. I loved my macbook but at the price I paid I expect it to last longer than 2 years before leaving me high and dry. *** apple??

I tried restarting my phone and lost all of my contacts. This has been happening more and more frequently. Today I was in my pictures and was trying to crop one and my phone shut off completely. Anyone know what's wrong with it or how to fix it?

Make sure all apps are fully closed:
- double tap your home button
- hold your finger on an app
- when the apps start to wiggle press the red "-" button on all the apps
Now do a hard reset:
- hold the home button and the sleeps/wake button down at the same time
- the phone will shut off then when the apple logo ppears release both buttons
If by then your contacts have not been restored you would need to try and retreive them from a back up on itunes/icloud that was made when the contacts were on the phone. You could even stream them from the cloud if they were synced to the cloud. The link beow will show you how to restore from an itunes/icloud back up:

Thanks for the link but none of those described the problem. No error message pops up. It just says "Accessing Itunes Store" but it never actually does. This only occurs when my iPhone is plugged in though.

Need to know what form is attached to a responsibility

There is a need to know what responsibility in Oracle has access to a given form. All seeded Oracle Reports that I am aware of (Function Security Function Report, Function Security Menu Report, Function Security Navigator Report) require a responsibility be inputted into a parameter in order to run. This is not a feasible option as we have hundreds of responsibilities and we would need to manually review each output for a specific function or form. Does a report or other SQL exist where I do not have to specify a responsibility?
I have attempted different ways for a custom sql but the difficulty always lies in the exclusions because you need to look in every single menu that has been excluded whether or not a function is attached (need to look at all the submenus). This is difficult because you need to go down the entire menu tree of each excluded menu and I haven't been able to do this.
Below is the closest I have got for an sql however I am getting 207 results which I know is not correct. I'm wondering if the query when looking at the menu exclusions is not looping at all the menus that are excluded for a given responsbility? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The script for "How to retrieve list of responsibilities and associated menus" (SELECT RESPONSIBILITY_NAME, MENU_ID FROM FND_RESPONSIBILITY_VL;) isn't really giving that as it's just the one menu that is associated with that responsibility (and doesn't look at the menu exclusions).
For note, "How To get List Of Functions Which Are Setup For A Responsibility? (Doc ID 549100.1)":
I can already get a list of functions on a particular responsbility and even more so I know what menus use a particular function using the following sql:

I believe these are two links I need to look at to find what menus are associated and unassociated with a responsbility. In fnd_responsibility_vl, there is the main menu_id that says where this repsonsbility gets all of it's menus. This is where I look first in the first part of my query (b.menu_id is this link to the fnd_responsibility_vl table) :

It needs to be able to look at the menu trees of all of the defined menus that are excluded and find any menu that has that function as defined in the first sql of this post (if it is found in the exclusions then do not show it). However I do not think it is looping through all of the menus defined in the exclusions. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)

The answer is not if you use iTunes.
The TC is NOT an iTunes server.. it is not a media device at all. It is a backup location for Time Machine.
You need a computer in the network which stores the iTunes library and you can then play it via the ipad.
A mini with a large USB drive plugged in will work fine.. it doesn't need to be new.. a couple of years old mini will work just as well.
As an extention to this, can we use multiple Airport expresses plugged into mutiple sound systems to simultaneously access different music from the same time capsule?
I am not sure.. there will be network limitations to this.

Try going into System Prefereces then Mail, Cintacts & Calendars then click on the Microsoft Exchange link on the right. Type in your email address and password and allow it to set it up automatically.
Make sure your Mac is updated to the newest version of Mail.
If that still fails then I suggest you switch email clients. I don't care for the built in mail program. IMHO it is very buggy.

I have a Sony Vaio laptop and have read on the discussions that this can occur but all the solutions I have read haven't seemed to solve it. Anybody else got an idea? I've tried doing that with no results. Same screen keeps showing. Maybe it'd be more helpful if I told you a bit more info. My phone was randomly playing music, and the voice control would also suddenly start without me touching the phone. Then I let the battery die and started to recharge when on the screen it indicated to plug into my computer/iTunes, I tried to restore but was getting an error message (can't remember what it said now). Battery died and now my current issue of the black screen with white apple. I'd love to be able to restore my phone but now its not showing as a device on my iTunes. HELP! Any other suggestions?
