I need to prove something..

My eMac falls into the replacement programme serials (awesome).
I stopped using it about 18 months ago when it started dying on me. at the time it wasn't covered by the programme, but now it does.
My problem is this:
I went into the reseller / repairers that Apple advised, and have 'booked it in'. When i found this out, I booted up the eMac expecting about 20 mins of uptime and then it's usual death. That was Thursday and it hasn't 'crashed' once. The guy at the dealers said that if they can't find anything wrong with it then they will just sign it back over to me.
Thing is, I know what will happen. i'll take it in, they'll find 'nothing' wrong and then on July the 4th (the day after purchase date 3 years later) it will die again and not be covered.
Will these crashes etc be in the Log files at all? If so, what am I looking for?

The guy at the dealers said that if they can't find anything wrong with it then they will just sign it back over to me.That would be a new development; others have reported that, with an eMac serial number among those covered by the eMac Repair Extension Program for Video and Power Issues, the owner's statement of freezing issues was sufficient to get the logic board repaired or replaced.

    It should work with the images side by side.
    You can setup photoshop cc to be like photoshop cs2 was on your other mac, by going to Photoshop>Preferences>Interface and unchecking
    Open Documents as Tabs and Enable Floating Document Window Docking
    And also going to Window and unchecking Application Frame

    Unless what you have to transfer is enormous, skip the external HD altogether and use a USB flash drive; you can get them with capacities to 128GB. Format the flash drive as FAT32 or ExFAT as LowLuster suggests so it can be read and written to on both PC's and your Mac.

    There is an Apple USB super drive you can buy or any Mac compatible external DVD player.
    Sorry to have nagged at you but you can now see why I couldn't answer your question from the start.   I had no way of knowing there was no slot in the model you have.

    I would recommend trying the steps in the article below.
    iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

    Once these steps are processed, attempt to accept the terms and conditions.
    Also, you can make a purchase via the iTunes Store on the computer.  This should allow you to bypass accepting the terms and conditions on the device.

    i just bought a copy of ProTools 11 and it gave some recommendation on changing your default Mac settings to make ProTools run at its peek performance, for example it says to turn on wifi and wired ethernet connection.  There at quite a few of these recommendations.  I dont want to change each individual setting every time i use ProTools.  Is there something i can run that will change all of these setting to the recommendations.  Then run something else to turn all of these setting back to default? thanks!

    Is your iMac running okay? Where are you getting this update from? Especially if it is an e-mail, I would not do what the 'update' is suggesting.
    Your profile shows you are running Mavericks. If everything is okay, then it would appear to me you don't need to download something to run Mavericks.

    Just connect the new iPod to your computer and setup the iPod via iTunes (instead of via wifi).

    This could save me from jail.  I need to prove that I DIDNT delete one or more photos from my iphone.  Is there a hidden numbering system that will show if some are missing?  Here's what happened:
    I went from point A to point B, and I took photos at both places. I was arrested for allegedly taking a detour in between A and B to take one or more photos on my iPhone, which I did NOT. The sequence of photos on my iPhone shows this (photos from A and then B with nothing in between), but my false accuser will just claim I deleted the ones in between (to have me imprisoned falsely. long story).
    I am innocent and I'm hoping my iPhone can prove that.  Any help is MUCH appreciated.
    Oh, and I haven't synced the phone since this happened, if that's an issue.

    A managed library is the default type that iPhoto creates.  Make sure you have the option selected to copy photos into iPhoto when importing:
    was hoping it would at least keep thumbnails of all my photo's.
    I use a DAM (digital asset management) program which will do exactly what you want: Media Pro 1.  It creates catalogs (libraries) of thumbnails, up to 640 x 480, that is uses to manage the photos.  You can do anything to the photos except edit, slideshows, or anything that requires the full source image when the source files are not available.  You can arrange  photos in Catalog Sets (like iPhoto albums), add keywords, etc. to them even when the sorce files are not available.  When the source files are available you can write that metadata to the source file and rename files. You can use Media Pro in demo mode for about a month I believe. 
    A catalog file for 44,000 photos (178 GB) with the thumbnails set for 320 pixels at high resolution is only 1.5 GB. The larger the thumbnail selected the larger the catalog file will be.
