I need to put music from my iPhone to my mac

A while ago I forgot the password to my apple id, and when i tried to reset it it wouldn't accept my birthday for the security questions and when I tried to reset it by email, I never got an email (I checked my spam and junk folders too). So I made a new Apple ID. I recently got a new Macbook Pro and I need to transfer music from my iPhone 5 to my mac, but it will only let me transfer the purchases i made with my new Apple ID. is there any way i can transfer the music that I bought with my previous apple id?

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.
Creating a new Apple ID to address this issue should only be done when desperate to make a purchase.

The iphone is not a storage/backup device.
The music sync is one way - computer to iphone.

Want to upgrade my iphone and dont want to loose my music and ideally want to import it onto my new iphone

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss.  To use a device with a new computer you transfer the content from the old computer (or its backup) directly to the new computer, not the device to the new computer. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only purchases from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software.  See this document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

    Hi

Please don't make multiple posts, your question has been answered in your other thread.

Can I transfer Music from my Iphone to my Mac? The music I wish to transfer is not from itunes.

No if they are not purchased from iTunes.  But you can find some 3rd party iphone transfer program to help.  Google them.

  • Need to delete music from my iPhone to make space for iOS upgrade. Should I get rid of all (and how would I do this?) and use the cloud as playback source?

My phone wants to upgrade to 7.0.2, but there's not enough room. I (stupidly) upgraded my iCloud capacity thinking that that would help, but it doesn't.  Now I'm considering deleting my music off my phone altogether, but I need some of it there for a variety uses at the school where I teach.  Does the cloud preserve my playlists?  Can I selectively delete music from my iPhone?

Hi - you can do what you want to do with AirPlay from your iPhone - but unfortunately it is not as easy as the people in the Apple store told you - your first problem is that you have a non Apple router - you cannot extend a non Apple router wirelessly with the Express - you can only join the network and connect an ethernet device to it - you can however connect via ethernet and have it create a wireless network of its' own - you can set this up from your iPhone or the XP - but this is a complicated setup and would involve many different discussion areas of this forum - therefore I would suggest that you use your 90 days of support and consult directly with Apple to do this - go to this link - http://www.apple.com/support/contact/

  • Help!!! I need to transfer music from my iPhone to my MacBook

I received a new MacBook Pro and I do not have all of my music on it as I did on my old computer. I have it on my iPhone how can I sync the music from my phone to my new MacBook?

The iphone is not a storage/backup device.  It simply mirrors the selected content from your computer.
The sync is one way -  computer to iphone.  The only exception is itunes purchases. File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You should copy everything from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer.

  • I reformatted my computer, and need to put music from my Ipod onto the comp

Is this possible, and if so, please let me know how it is done!

    Check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2).
There's also another method. I've successfully tested this across several different Windows PCs.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), there's Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
The above methods may depend on what version of iTunes you are running.
If none of these methods work, try CopyPod.
If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.

  • Can i import my music from my iphone to my Mac?

    Hey Guys,
Struggling a bit here, have tried to search other posts but with no luck. Basically, i recently spilt a pint of water over my PC, completely ruining it. Luckily insurance paid out and I used the money to put towards a new Mac. Basically, I want transfer the music I have on my iPhone to my new iTunes Library..
is there anyway of doing this? Every time i go near the sync button i get warned that my iPhone will be replaced with the Mac's library (which is nothing).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

The question is in regards to your computer's backup - for the PC that was ruined, which should include your iTunes library along with all other important data such as photos, documents, etc.
Did you lose all data that was stored on your PC's hard drive, or you have a backup for your computer but it doesn't include your iTunes library?
The iPhone's backup that is created and maintained by iTunes does not include all data stored on your iPhone. It doesn't include any iTunes content including 3rd party apps, which should remain in your iTunes library on your computer which should be included with your computer's backup along with all other important data.
The iPhone is not designed or intended to be used as a backup storage device.
iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iPod or iPhone, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only.
First you need to authorize your new computer with your iTunes account with iTunes if you haven't already done so. With your iPhone connected to iTunes and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
If a 3rd party app does not transfer, you can re-download the app with iTunes on your new computer and you won't be charged again for a purchased app as long as you use the same iTunes account to re-download the app that was used to purchase the app originally.
Photos that are transferred from your computer are optimized for viewing on your iPhone as part of the iTunes sync/transfer process. The original resolution of these photos is reduced, which is why transferring these photos in the opposite direction is not supported by Apple. Photos on your computer's hard drive should be included with your computer's backup.
There are some 3rd party paid utilities that provide for transferring iTunes content that was not purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store and for photos that were transferred from your computer, but such utilities are not supported by Apple, and the original resolution of the photos that were transferred from your computer to your iPhone will be lost in the process.
In regards to iTunes content, an iPhone can be synced or manually managed with an iTunes library on a single computer only, and photos can be transferred from a single computer only. When transferring iTunes content and photos from another computer, all iTunes content and photos that were transferred from a different computer will be erased from your iPhone first.
Before syncing contacts with the Address Book and calendar events with iCal on your Mac, enter one contact in the Address Book and one calendar event in iCal on your Mac. Make these up if needed, which can be deleted later. This will provide a merge prompt with the first sync for this data, which you want to select. Syncing contacts with the Address Book and calendar events with iCal is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
