Yes.
You can authorize up to 5 computers to play itunes music ( pre-itunes plus). There is no limit on itunes plus ( all itunes music for the past several years) and imported music.
You can sync as many ipods/ipads/iphones as you like to each of your computers.

Do any fellow iTunes U administrators know anything about this? How is existing content presented in the new app? Would we need to change anything? How do we access / make available the new features?
The new features sound fantastic but it would have been nice to have some warning. I appreciate that Apple has to keep specific details about developments confidential but it's slightly disconcerting that iTunes U administrators were not forewarned about this new development and that there has been no mention of it on this forum. Also - and at the risk of sounding like a broken record - it really would be helpful for iTunes U administrators to have a private forum (perhaps an add-on to Public Site Manager) where we could discuss issues and share ideas and best practice etc.

To ensure my old iPhon4 was backed up i...
1. Deleted the iPhone4 backup from iTunes prefs(devices)
2. I then sycnched the iPhone4 to get a new backup of the old Phone.
I then installed my new iPhone5 from the fresh backup of the old iPhone4
This way i got my new iPhone5 exactly as my old iPhone4
Screens all looked the same, EVERYTHING the same.
Some minor adjustments were needed afterwards.

I know how to copy files to or from using iTunes file sharing but it doesnt seem to allow copying of folders

From your PC or Mac, you can copy a folder (and it's contents) into the DropBox folder. It will then sync ans will be available in your DropBox app on the iPad.
GoodReader includes built in connectivity to DropBox, will pick up the contents and then allow you to easily copy files to other folders within it, as well as open files in other apps on your iPad.

Instead of housing the new hard drive (during the cloning process) in an external case, could I simply install the new hard drive into an idle G5 that has no hard drive in it thus using the idle G5 as an elaborate external case? What cables would I use to connect the 2 computers? Ethernet? USB? Could I use the firewire cable that is normally used by my Apple camera (the camera that is an aluminum tube, I forget the name of that thing). The idle G5 is a 1.6 model,would that matter? Thanks

I personally can think of two options.
1. Mount the drive in which the copy of the first hard drive will go to inside of the 2.7gHZ G5's case. There is room for two hard drives in there. See Link for Help

Once it is installed, simply boot off of your Mac OS Install media (CD, DVD, USB) it can be any version that supports the PowerPC platform. You need to boot holding the "C" key. Then choose Disk Utility and hit the restore tab. Drag the old partition to the "Source" field and the new hard drive to the "destination" field.
2. Put the second hard drive into the second (idle) G5. You will need a copy of the Mac OS install DVD as again you cannot clone a drive when it is in use (running the operating system). Hold down the "T" key at boot up and then a firewire logo will bounce on the monitor. then plug the cable into the 2.7 g5 and start it up

IPhone, iPod Touch as PDAs?

I suspect that one answer will be along the lines of: SDK going out in March '08. Results of that are unknown but let's see what happens?
I'll give a 100% commitment to an iPhone or iPod Touch providing it has software (soon) that means I can use Pages, Numbers and iCal on the device and synch easily-peasily with similar applications on the Mac Pro.
Will it be possible?
I suppose I can wait and use iPaq and PC until it is available and bounce stuff via MacDrive on Mac Pro with Boot Camp and XP Pro but I really want to streamline my workflow.
Two calendars or diaries confunkt me easily, two diaries or calendars that don't talk to each other really do me in quite a bit.
I'd like to find a better solution that the one I am using at the moment.
Can I rely on Apple meeting my needs or should I look for a Mio and stay in PC-land for easy synching?

Actually the iPhone SDK will be released in February and it is unknown what will come out of that at this point along with Apple likely providing some enhancements or maybe additional features.
You can view PDF, Word and Excel files attached to an email message with the iPhone but editing such documents is not supported. Not sure if we will see a version of Pages and Numbers for the iPhone but I for one am not interested in preparing a Pages or Numbers document with the iPhone - screen is too small for me in regards to navigating and entering data for a Numbers document and depending on what I'd normally need for preparing a Pages document or letter - formatting, etc.
The iPhone syncs calendar events with iCal and contacts with Address Book on a Mac - you can enter a calendar event and a contact on the iPhone which will be synced.
I venture to say there are probably less problems syncing calendar events and contacts with a Mac than with a Windows PC. It sure has been easy and seamless for me and the first phone I can easily sync my calendar events and address book contacts with my Mac without jumping through some hoops or workarounds that didn't work completely or reliably.

Transferring iPhone/iPod touch backup data from PC to a Mac

Hello everyone! Is it possible for me to transfer my iPhone & iPod touch backup data from my PC (Windows 7) to a Macbook Pro? Because I'm planning to switch to Mac soon. I've tried transferring my backup data from PC to PC and it worked (Windows XP2 to Windows 7). I was able to sync my previous data to my iDevices when I plugged them into my new PC. If it is possible, can anybody please tell me how?

You are correct. Transfer your iTunes library, which includes your app and music purchases from the PC directly to your new MacBook Pro. Your photos, contacts, and other information can be transferred also if you use Migration Assistant.

After you sync the iPhone to the PC for the last time, "deauthorize" the PC for music purchases.
When you sync the iPhone to the MacBook for the first time, it will tell you that it is already synced to another computer, and give you the option to erase and sync it to the MacBook.

I'm trying to use migration assistant to transfer applications and files from a G5 imac running 10.4.11 to a brand new iMac i5 on 10.8.2. Have connected through ethernet cable but machines don't recognise each other!
Is this an OS problem or a PowerPC vs Intel issue?

Be careful about trying to migrate applications from a G5 to an Intel mac running Mt. Lion (10.8.x). They may not work. Rosetta is no longer supported, so older applications that ran on your G5 may not run at all on your new iMac. And even some 'universal' apps that ran on 10.4 (Tiger) will not run well if at all on Mt. Lion.
It would be best if you install current versions of the applications you are interested in, from scrtach, instead of migrating what are now very old versions.

If any of you are like me, I had one single AppleID under MobileMe. Under my AppleID I had two additional Email addresses, one for my wife and one for her Mother. Each used their individual email accounts on their login on the home Mac and on their individual Iphones.
In order for them to not lose their email acounts when mobileMe goes away and/or you move your appleID acount from MobileMe to iCloud, you simply need to beaware of the folowing. Have each person with an email address under your AppleID MobileMe go to www.me.com; enter their email account and password in the corresponding fields. However, don't press the login button. Instead press the sentence under the login fields that says something to the effect of "do you want to move/migrate to iCloud. Follow the prompts from there.
In essence what Apple has done--albeit not communicated anywhere--is that they automatically created AppleIDs for each of those additonal email addresses you have/had under MobileMe. Therefore, use that email and password after moving from MobileMe to iCloud and your good to go.

Hi Ippiusa .. bit of a coincidence as I was JUST this moment finally imessaging friend about this and I get your reply via icloud. Mate simply... it was my router! I was using an older DSL2 dlink thing, changed to an Alcatel N type. Is your linksys a G or N type router, seems to make a difference, how old is it?? also yeah the apple guys couldn't help here either, just had to work out myself :S
but yeah change ya router, does work. =)

I get a pop up in Safari on an iPod Touch saying I have an unsupported browser. IE 7, Firefox, etc are supported. The project is using ADF components.
Web pages do work in Google's Chrome.
Where do I adjust for/add the target browser in JDev/WebLogic ?

The support for iPhone/iPod Touch Safari is in ADF Mobile, which as Shay pointed out requires the use of the Trinidad library. A view project intended for ADF Mobile cannot contain any reference to ADF Faces components. The general steps for creating an ADF Mobile application is as follows:
1. Define your model project as usual, or simply re-use the same model project or application as your ADF Faces app.
2. Create a new project - select a generic project. When prompted for project technology, select just "Mobile". This would bring over the necessary libraries for ADF Mobile, but nothing else.
3. Create page flows and views as you would for any JSF application. You can use any Trinidad component available in the component palette.
