I need to transfer Photoshop CS4 to another computer that I just purchased

I have been using CS4 on my desktop. The computer is 6 years old and I recently purchased an HP Laptop. I want to transfer the CS4 to this Laptop. The Laptop does not have a CD/DVD drive therefore it has to be downloaded from the web. How can I do that.

When I purchased Photoshop CS5 (as part of CS5 Production Premium) I wanted to let my wife use CS4 on her computer. Got the message that it was already installed on another CPU. So I guess the upgrade version, still counts the old versions in the 'allowable installations', right?

The way I read it, if you follow the licensing agreement to the letter, though you are allowed to install the software on up to 2 computers, you are neither allowed to actually use it on more than one computer at the same time nor is a second person allowed to use it.
Regarding your specific question, the pertinent paragraph seems to be (emphasis mine):
5. Updates.If the Software is an upgrade or update to a previous version of Adobe software, you must possess a valid license to such previous version in order to use such upgrade or update. After you install such update or upgrade, you may continue to use any such previous version in accordance with its end-user license agreement only if (a) the upgrade or update and all previous versions are installed on the same Computer, (b) the previous versions or copies thereof are not transferred to another party or device unless all copies of the update or upgrade are also transferred to such party or device, and (c) you acknowledge that any obligation Adobe may have to support the previous version(s) may end upon the availability of the upgrade or update. No other use of the previous version(s) is permitted after installation of an update or upgrade. Upgrades and updates may be licensed to you by Adobe with additional or different terms.
Whether you can actually install an upgrade on a different computer and run Photoshop on two computers at once may be a different story.

I have purchased a new laptop and need to transfer my Adobe PhotoShop Elements to my new computer. How can I do that I have the disk.

Just install it on the new machine and use the serial number to activate it. You are allowed to have two activated installations, so if you want to you can leave it on the old machine as a backup. If you want to removce it or otherwise disable it on the old machine then open it and choose Help -> Deactivate.

Transfer Photoshop CS4 to New Computer

I have Photoshop CS4 installed on an external hard drive which is how I ran it on my old computer. A copy is also installed on a laptop. I have a new iMac and when I try to boot up Photoshop on it I get an error message saying licensing for this product has stopped working (error code 6), and to restart the computer. I did and it doesn't help. I forgot to unregister Photoshop before I took down the old computer and now it's too late. Also, I can't find the orioginal disc. What can I do?

This will not resolve my issue. I will go into a little (or maybe a lot) more detail... I have installed adobe photoshop extended cs5 on the new machine. I need to update to camera raw 6.7 for my camera. When I try to install the update I get an error saying that there was a problem with the download. When I click on the contact customer support (lack of) I get a message saying the licence is not elilgible for upgrade. I am assuming that it adobe considers the camera raw update and upgrade... I was actually able to chat with someone last night (about an hour before I had to leave). He made the exception for my license in the system, but I can still not download the updates. Now I cannot get back into the chat again so I am hoping that someone can tell me what needs to be done. I am afraid to deactivate and uninstall/reinstall, as it may or may cause greater problems, but that is the only thing I can think of to do...

Your iPod is designed to sync with only one iTunes library at a time. If you try to sync it with a new or different iTunes library, it will erase what is currently on the iPod and replace it with what is in the new library.

The Adobe product license agreement allows the primary user to install the product on a primary computer and also on a home or laptop computer for his or her use, provided that the two copies are not used simultaneously.
Hence you can go ahead and install on a new computer which is a second computer. If you get an error saying "Too many activations" contact Adobe Support over chat or phone to resolve that error.

I'm using Windows Vista, Adobe Digital Editions v 1.5, I purchased an ebook online, and I'm trying to transfer the ebook to another computer for printing. I followed all the instructions online for transferring ebooks, and logged onto the other computer's ADE with the same account, but I keep getting the error "Document is not Licensed for this Device Type".
We've already called the customer service and they didn't provide any help.

I am having a related problem. My laptop with 100 purchsed ebooks on it died. I bought a new laptop, copied all my files from backups, downloaded Adobe Digital which would NOT recognize my email/password and therefor will not open the library.
The most important part of the library is professional texts that I need access to.
Although this must be a daily occurrence Adobe have not been able to help (shall I say.. "yet"). I tried to redownload the books from the purchase site but they also will not open.. and with all the hassle I have now exceeded download limits.
This seems the most simple of problems but I have been two weeks without the documents.
The terms of use from the download site required me to use Adobe, they charged full price for the ebooks and the books are now not usable.

Transfer Album Artwork to another computer?

Most of my album artwork has been retrieved automatically using the "Get Album Artwork" command in iTunes. Other album artwork has been copied from amazon.com or other sites. Where exactly does all this artwork get stored? How can I transfer album artwork to another computer? I see album artwork docs stored in 4 folders:
1) C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\Album Artwork\Download
2) C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\Album Artwork\Local
and ALSO in:
3) C:\Documents and Settings\MYUSERNAME\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\Album Artwork\Download
4) C:\Documents and Settings\MYUSERNAME\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\Album Artwork\Local
To backup/transfer to another computer, which of these 4 folders do I need? Why are there 4? How can I combine to 1 or 2? Do I simply copy folders from one computer to another? Which folder(s)? My iTunes library is on an ext hard drive, but the album artwork is on the C drive. I backup/transfer the itunes library by connecting my ext hard drive to the 2nd computer, and hit "Add Folder to Library", but don't know how to properly transfer the artwork folder(s). Thanks for the help!

You would copy the entire iPhoto Library folder to the other computer. Put the iPhoto Library folder in the Pictures folder of the other computer (make sure there is no library with the same name in the Pictures folder. If there is rename it.
Does the other computer have the same version of iPhoto? does the other computer already have photos in the library.
What do you want to do if there is another library on the other computer?
Copy iPhoto Library folder from one Mac to another
-If the library is small enough, burn the ENTIRE iPhoto Library folder to CD/DVD.
Drag the iPhoto Library folder from the CD/DVD to your Pictures folder of the iMac.
-If the computers are networked, copy the ENTIRE iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder of the other Mac.
-If you have an iPod, copy the ENTIRE iPhoto Library folder to the iPod. Connect the iPod to the other computer and copy the iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder of the other Mac.
-If you have a firewire cable, copy the ENTIRE iPhoto LIbrary folder to the Pictures folder of the other Mac
Things to keep in mind:
-If the usersnames are different you might have to set the permissions on the iPhoto Library folder to Read/Write for the new user. Check the "apply to enclosed items" at the bottom of the "get info" window.
-If there is another iPhoto Library folder on the other Mac, change it's name so it doesn't get replaced by the iPhoto Library folder you are copying into the Pictures folder...or....drag it to another place on your hard drive.

I don't know what version you have, but you cannot install a Windows edition on a Mac, you need the Mac edition.
If you have Photoshop CS6, you can swap it for a Mac version, otherwise you would have to purchase a full Mac version ($700) or enroll in the $10 per month Photography program from Adobe to use Photoshop CC.

If you wish to transfer the license you need to deactivate the software first by launching the software, go to the 'help' menu and select 'Deactivate'.
