Having issues of i pad not playing netflix instant watch....did updates, reloaded app still nothing any suggestions?

Blame Netflix. They are the ones using DRM that wasn't compatible with Macs, even though, of course Mac compatible DRM solutions are available.

How can I get Netflix instant watch working in Firefox 6.0?

apple tv gen 2 not playing netflix for 3 days... any suggestions?

i discoverd that by deactivating the apple tv and then by signing back into my own unit, i was able to solve my problem.

Recordings not playing correctly when watching online

It stops the playback at 45 minutes. I am still having the issue. 3 recordings tonight all at the same time and all 3 started 5-6 minutes in when watching online. All 3 play fine in my house. Kenal0

I have 2 x1 dvrs and a total of 6 terminals. All play nicely at home, recordings all showing up and I do not have any problems in my home. When I go to watch a recording from outside my home, the recordings are starting 15 minutes into the program. They are skipping the first 15 minutes. The counter at the bottom shows 0-60 but 0 is where the program is already started in other words you cannot rewind to the beginning. The recordings all play fine in my home on any of the boxes.Any ideas? Kenal0

My Apple TV is not playing Netflix or YouTube

It will play just about everything else.
But it just keeps downloading and downloading both Netyflix and YouTube - but never plays them.
It recognizes my accounts for both and all their details - it just qwon't play any videos.

Not that anyone helped me...but the problem seemed to resolve itself with the latest Apple TV update.

I have updated my iPad, discussed with Netflix, but when I try to open a movie, it just continues to load and if I does load, stops playing movie , starts again or audio continues but movie freezes... I open netflix on my husbands Mac air and loads up just fine, I also updated the netflix app

When I try to play a Netflix movie and some YouTube clips I get something like "cannot play movie, try again later". Last 2 weeks I was able to view on my MacBook pro with NO problems. (Away from home location).

You can use itunes convert mov and mpg to mpeg-4. One thing though, is that if you convert an mpg (mpeg-1 or mpeg-2) muxed (muxed means that the video and audio are put together on one single track) than you loose the video or sound when converting them to mpeg-4 from itunes. If your videos are muxed you must find another video converter on the web. You can find out if the original video that you are trying to convert for the ipod is muxed by opening the original video in quicktime and then click on the Window menu then click on Show Movie Info this will show you if the file is muxed.
to demux, you will have to just find a good video converter that does that. try videora.com

DVD Studio Pro does not play my background

Hey guys,
Has anyone ever experienced this problem? When I try to use a Quicktime movie as a background in my menu, it does not show up. Simulator will not play it, and watching a Video TS folder after a build does not show it. What is strange is that I see my buttons, but no background?
The Quicktime I am using is an Animation codec, 29.97fps at 720 x 480.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.
PS; When using a jpg as a background, everything shows up fine. It is just the quicktime movie.

My ipad will not play videos after the last ios 7.0.3 update, help!?!

Will not play Netflix, my videos or other videos (network apps downloaded ABC, CW etc).
I tried to re-install clear my internet history. I also waited until it was full charged.
Not sure what to do, everything else is working perfect.

Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

Go figure both Apple support and Netflixs support "have never seen a problem quite like mine" the same day my free trial has ended. And no the, problem is not with my Netflixs account because they charged my debit card just fine. I'm trying to play instant movies on my netflixs account and every time I click on a movie or show it just shows up a black screen with no play controls. According to Netflixs I'm either missing a peice of software or I need to uninstall and reinstall a program or plug-in or something. At first they thought it was Microsoft Silverlight, but I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling that several times and nothing has changed, plus since I had no play controls as well the problem is definetly not Silverlight. So I was wondering what other types of software or plug-ins are needed to play Netflixs movies or if anyones else has had the same issue and knew how to fix it. And I know that it is a problem with my Macbook Pro, because my netflixs accout still works on my sister's computers. I've tried restarting my computer, restarting Firefox, signing out and back in on Netflixs, praying to God, clearing my cookies and chache, saying nice things to my laptop, yelling at my laptop, and pretty much everything under the sun. Nothing I do is fixing it. Please someone help me figure this out.

MacBook Pro / Mozilla Firefox / Netflix / Silverlight Update solved - DON'T DWNLOAD FROM NETFLIX
I solved this problem tonight. I have a MacBook Pro with 10.5.8. I know, it's old. But I love my Netflix and I recently noticed that Firefox plays Netflix much better. Then I suddenly got this message that I needed to download the latest Silverlight - it only takes 30 seconds! - WRONG. However, after much searching, I finally did the steps in order and it worked.
This was after repeatedly downloading Silverlight from the Netflix site without success. So here's what I did:
1. Went to http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/Get-Started/Install/Default.aspx
2. Followed the directions. I felt like such an idiot for not doing it right before.
3. Go to your hard drive and search for "Silverlight" to locate ANY existing Silverlight files: .dmg, etc.
[also check your Libary/ Internet Plug-ins, but the above search is faster]
4. Drag it all to the trash and empty it.
5. Go back to the Get Silverlight page and click on the Install on that page, not the Netflix site.
6. Note the steps for Safari or Mozilla Firefox - I wanted Firefox, so I follwed those instructions.
7. Once it's installed, close all the browsers and Restart that bad boy. Right away.
8. Open a browser, go to Netflix and proceed to joyfully rot your brain with Netflix content. Yay!

Netflix Instant Play will not work with Firefox but works fine with Internet Explorer

When I log in to Netflix, I cannot play instant movies from my Queue. I called Netflix and they said to reset my router. I did this and now Netflix Instant play works with Internet Explorer but not Firefox.

I am able to type a search word in but on clicking it, nothing changes. No results. the word just stays there.
I also downloaded the https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/live-http-headers/ -- at first I wondered if it was not letting me install. So I allowed it in exceptions. But I'm not clear on what it does or what I do to use it.

What PowerBook model do you have? OS 10.4.11 Tiger is the OS just prior to your OS 10.5 Leopard. There is no download, free or purchase. You have to buy the install DVD. What makes you think Netflix will work with 10.4.11 when it possibly doesn't work with 10.5.8? It's prrobably you Mac hardware & not software.

Every time I try to use Netflix instant play the browser closes with no explanation.

Every time I click on a link for a Netflix instant-play movie, the browser instantly closes all windows and tabs (quits, in fact) with no explanation. The rest of the processes on the computer are not noticeably disturbed. I use Firefox version 3.6.3 on a MacBook running Mac OS X version 10.4.11, and 1 GB of RAM is available; all of these parameters meet the system requirements listed on Netflix's website. Furthermore, my Microsoft Silverlight is fully updated. Any advice?
