Today, I purchased a $15 iTunes card for the first time. Apparently I scratched the code off the back "too hard" and the letters/numbers are unreadable. What can I do? I don't want to be ou $15! Help!

It says to scratch off the gray part on the back with a nickel, so I did. When I was scratching it off, I must of scratched too hard because I cannot read the first 5 letters and numbers...any suggestions?? Please HELP!

If they have a tech support line I'd call your university. EIther their stuff isn't working with iOS7 or maybe they have some insight as to why it doesn't work.

Since then, everytime I try to email pictures I get a message saying "The server didn't recognize your username/password combination". How can I correct this so I can email pictures using my IPhoto?

iPhoto Menu -> Prefences -> Accounts. Delete and recreate your email account.

I updated my iphone 5 to ios 7 two days ago and I synced with my computer for the first time yesterday. Most of my calendar appointments and events were wiped off my phone but are still on the computer. I use outlook 2010 and a pc running windows 7. Rebooting the phone and the computer failed to remedy the calendar sync problem.

Easy solution for restoring lost calendar informaiton, thank goodness. On your iPhone, go to settings, then to iCloud. If your Calendar selection is turned off, turn it on. Your info should restore. If your Calendar selection is turned on, then turn it off. Choose to save calendars when asked. After it shuts the Calendar off, turn it back on. Your info should be restored.
Thank you to Apple support for walking me through this. Shame on you Apple for not just telling people about this easy fix rather than making us go through all of this pain and worry.

Are the lines like psychedelic herringbone? If yes, I had that happen once, it was something serious, like the
Logic board. The good news is that it was fixed without any loss of data on the hard drive. Take it in to have Apple look at it ASAP. I took it to TekServe at the time, they are very nice about preserving your data and user library when possible.
Good luck and don't panic.

Running Time Machine for the first time, how that I make sure that some information I have in the external drive does not get erase in the prosess

1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
Note: This is now your Library. It's not a Back Up, and you need another disk for backing up.

Sorry saker, but if you have not backed up your data anywhere, and you told the computer, in essence to clear the data and restore it with your iPod data, then you are pretty much out of luck....

The amount is already credited to your account. Purchase something and it will use this balance.

Try connecting your iMac to the Time Capsule with an Ethernet cable to see if that allows AirPort Utility to "see" it.

I made the wrong choice when I connected my new iPhone 5 to my MacBook Pro for the first time (lost ALL my new photos because it restored settings that were 9 months old) - can I re-do this somehow and configure it as a new phone?

I connected my new iPhone 5 to my (now fully updated after two separate operating system upgrades!) MacBook Pro so that I could add my music to my new phone. Rather than configuring it as a new iPhone, I chose to configure it as my old iPhone, thinking that this would make it easier for my music to be there. WRONG. Now my new iPhone 5 looks exactly like my old iPhone 4 did in OCTOBER, 2012 - photos, messages, contacts... anything done since then is gone (that was the last time I had backed up my old phone, which unfortunately was not connected to the cloud and is also lost somewhere in a New England lake :-(). What I could really, really use help with is finding out if I can have a do-over on my choice and at least get my new phone looking/acting like the new phone it is, and bonus would be to have the photos and videos I took with it this past weekend (it's only five days old!) restored. Look iTunes>Preferences>Devices...is a backup listed for your iPhone 5 dated BEFORE you restored your iPhone 4 backup to your iPhone 5? If not, your data is gone. If there is a backup, on your iPhone 5: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. You should now be able to restore that backup, if it exists, to your iPhone 5.
