I receive multiple copies of all the messages from my inbox
e-mail SP: exmail.qq.com
each time I check my mail with thunderbird (POP3) all the mails in the server inbox are downloaded again.
I have tried all the suggestionn from the form (deleting the index, deleting the date file, un-checking leav on server box).
my colleagues who use outlook have a checkbox to solve the problem ("do not download multuple copies of one mail). I don't see the equivalent in TB.
Your 'popstate.dat' file keeps a record of what it has downloaded, so that when it connects with the server and looks in the server Inbox, it should not download anything that was previously downloaded.
In your case, you have kept old previously downloaded mail in the server Inbox and the confused popstate.dat is seeing them as needing to be downloaded.
This means that the 'popstate,dat' file must be corrupted - gone awol - because it keeps downloading previously downloaded emails.
You need to access your Profile Folders and delete the 'popstate.dat' file.
Profile Folders are hidden folders.
make hidden files and folders visible:

In thunderbird:
Help > Troubleshooting Information
click on 'Show Folder'
a new window opens showing your Profile Folder.

Click on 'Mail' folder
click on 'mail account name'
look for 'popstate.dat' file and delete it.
close the window.
Open Thunderbird.
What will this do?
When Thunderbird restarts, it will create a new 'popstate.dat' file. The downside is this. As it has no knowledge of what has been downloaded, it will download everything that is on the server Inbox, but only once.
The good thing is this. This should fix the popstate.dat file and prevent further downloads of previously downloaded mail.
You will then need to delete any duplicates that were previously downloaded. There is an addon that you could use to help with duplicates.

Your notes should be stored in your backup, so if you have backed up the iPad and that backup does contain those notes that you deleted, you can try restoring from your backup. If you haven't backed up the iPad since you created those notes, they are gone.
If you backup with iCloud only, restoring from backup involves erasing the device and then going through the setup all over again and finally restoring from the iCloud backup. This article explains the process quite clearly.

If you backup with iTunes, connect the iPad to your computer, launch iTunes and right click on the device name on the left and select - Restore from Backup. But before you do that .... turn off auto sync in iTunes - without connecting the iPad - launch iTunes and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices and check the box at the bottom of that window in order to turn off auto sync.
Email messages are not stored in your backups. -
In my email all the messages from one person bunch together and I would like to separate them. I have done this before on my iPhone but just recently got an iPad and its doing it on this, so does anyone have any ideas how to fix this issue?
Settings >> Mail, Contacts. Calendars >> Organise by Thread. Switch to OFF to see every individual email in the Inbox.

Not supported for good reasons.
If the account is an IMAP account, delete the messages from the account's Inbox mailbox with the email client used on your computer for accessing the account, or transfer the messages from the account's Inbox to a user created mailbox stored locally on your computer's hard drive which will remove the messages from the server. All server stored mailboxes with an IMAP account are kept synchronized with the server with each email client used to access the account.
If the account is a POP account, delete the messages from the server with the email client used on your computer for accessing the account, or via webmail access for the account. Follow this by deleting and recreating the account on your iPhone. -

I've tried all the suggestions including deleting the inbox.msf etc. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Thunderbird, but none of them seem to work.
Is it hanging on the same message each time? If so go to your email providers web mail site and log into your account there. Read and delete the problem message and see if the remaining messages download.

Okay so my Macbook Air has always allowed me to receive iMessages from my iPhone 5 to my computer. So basically I could use both to text.. However I just upgraded to the iPhone 6 Plus and I would like the same to happen again with my new phone, but I don't know how. If you are signed onto the same iCloud/Apple ID for Messages, then the second number should have been registered with your Messages on the Mac at the time it was verified.
To check this, open Messages on the Mac, click on Accounts, and see if the number is displaying and checked. If it is not, Sign out of Messages on your new device and then sign on again.
Again, phones need to be signed onto the same Messages account that you have set up in Messages.

Can you delete all the text from one contact?
I have a BB curve 8330 from Verizon.. Lets say I text 10 people and I want to delete the texts from just one of those contacts.. Can I do a mass delete with out getting rid of all the other texts with out having to delete them one at a time?

do a search by name (use menu to select the person in your Contacts)
uncheck everything except "Messages". "Messages include email, SMS, MMS (and maybe some other types)
---> you get all the messages from/to that specific person.
2)
home screen >> Contacts application
view the contact, open menu and select "View Activity"
---> you get all the messages & calls from/to that specific person.

Exchange - Moving messages from server inbox to inbox on my Mac
I am trying to use Mail with my exchange account and it has been tricky. I have found a workaround for a couple of my issues but still have a big one. I try to drag older messages from the server inbox to the "on my mac" inbox so that I can delete them from the server. When I do that I just get this error message: An error occurred while moving messages to mailbox “Inbox — On My Mac”. This happens when I drag the files straight from folder to folder. I also tried right clicking and selecting "Move to" and right clicking and selecting "copy to" but no matter what I try I get the error message and the messages reappear again. The weird thing is sometimes I will move the messages, then it thinks a while, then it gives me the error message, but then when I look in my inbox on my mac a few of the messages did get copied, just not all of them. Other times when I try it nothing copies. I have no idea what the problem is.
I don't know if this helps but I had a similar problem moving items to the trash, sometimes it worked and sometimes it gave me an error and wouldn't move the messages. Mac support was able to figure out that if I happen to try to delete items while it is syncing then I will get an error. Now when I want to delete a big chunk of emails I take the account offline, drag them to the trash and then go back online and that works like a charm. I tried the same with dragging from inbox to inbox with no such luck.
I would appreciate any insight or tricks for this!In general, the answer is "yes", messages would be removed from the IMAP server if you store them, locally, on your Mac. However, it may also depend on how your particular email account works. I use gmail. When I clean up my inbox, I, regularly, drag emails I wish to keep to archive folders on my mac. While it removes the message from my inbox, it still exists in Google's "All Mail" folder. After I archive, I go into the "All Mail" folder and, then, delete the items in order to ensure permanent removal.

Receiving multiple copies of text messages
i have an iPhone 6 plus and have been receiving multiple copies of the same text message (up to 4x) from various contacts across various carriers. This has been an issue throughout having an iPhone 5s and 6 plus, and only occurs with regular messages, not iMessage. It also does not occur for automated text messages sent to me (e.g. Redbox). While I have unlimited messages it is frustrating because they are sent to me multiple times, and not necessarily in the same order each time. It is also inconsistent. I might get a single copy of one text and four of another. I have reset the phone, changed phones, and every other thing possible. This seems to be an issue not on my end. Assistance would be much appreciate. Thanks.

I got the iPhone 5s this morning and I kept my number and as soon as it charged I got all my messages, but when I connected it to my iCloud and backed it up, when it was finished all the messages I received were gone. How do I get them back?

It sounds like you may have either set the iPhone up as a new iPhone or restored from a backup that didn’t have your messages on it. If you do have either an iCloud or iTunes backup that you believe has your messages saved, you can restore from that backup to recover your information. The iMessages are "pushed" to the devices which means there can be small delays between the server recognising the device went Off Line and coming back.

I don't know if it will work, but try rebuilding the mailbox. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.
