I recently downloaded the newest iTunes update, but iTunes won't open... And every time I try to open iTunes, A box asks if I want to allow the program to make changes to my computer. I've clicked yes many times and it always comes up, any ideas?

Also I've tried restarting my computer many times and it still says the same thing...

Anyone know how I can fix this?

• I could previously open my itunes program on my computer. Not now as when it asks, Do you want to allow this program to make changes to your computer and I select, Yes, it shuts down. I have removed and re-installed itunes, checked firewall. Pls help

I could previously open my itunes program on my computer and sync with ipad, ipod and iphone but no longer. When I select itunes a dialogue box opens with question - "Do you want to allow this program to make changes to your computer" When I select YES, it just shuts down. I have removed and reinstalled itunes. have checked firewall and spent hours trying to fix. Please help.

A possible cause of this error is that Firefox is set to run as Administrator.
Check that Firefox isn't set to run as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.
* Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
* "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected
Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).

• I have Windows 7. When I start Firefox 4, I get a warning, "Do you want to allow this program to make changes to this computer"? Is there a way to stop this warning?

Question
I have Windows 7 Home Premium. When I start Firefox 4, I get a User Account Control warning, "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer"? Is there a way to stop this warning?

Check that you do not run Firefox as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
In the Compatibility tab, make sure that Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" is not selected.
Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program directory.

• Everytime I open itunes it says do you want to allow this program to make changes to your computer

It opens but it's annoying as **** it never did it when I when I first bought it

I had the same problem, tried lots of things but this easy solution worked.
Go to the file location where Itunes is located (I had a shortcut on my desktop and just right clicked, went to properties and hit "open file location")
Once at Itunes file I right clicked again and hit "create shortcut"
It put a new shortcut on my desktop, I deleted the old one and the problem stopped.
Hope this helps

• When I try to install Firefox, windows asks me if I want to allow this program to make changes to my computer and then nothing happens whether I say yes or no?

Question is asked by "user account control"

Even if you are logged on with an Administrator account then you should still not run Firefox with Administrator permissions.
I would assume that is already installed, but if this is happening when you try to install Firefox then you need to right-click the Firefox installer and choose Run as Administrator to make sure to get the proper permissions to install the Firefox program and create the required registry keys.
Then you need to confirm that you want to install the program.
If Windows blocks the file because it is downloaded from internet then open the Properties via the right-click context menu and check the Security tab.

• When I start Firefox I get a menu box asking me to agree to let Firefox make changes to my computer. I click yes and the program opens and goes to my homepage. See Details below.

When I attempt to open Firefox from my desktop icon a menu box appears and backscreen grays out and I can't access anything else except this menu box. top of menu box says User Account Control. Next line says: Do you want to allow Firefox to make changes to this computer? I can click Yes (Firefox opens) No (menu box closes Firefox doesn't open) A link I can click says "change when these notifications appear" When I click it the menu box closes, Firefox doesn't open & link does not take me to where I can change my user account controls. Annoying, I just want Firefox to open directly to my home page like it did in prior versions.

Do a clean reinstall.
* Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
* Firefox 7.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Uninstall your current Firefox version.
* Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.
* Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

• Continues to ask "do you want firefox to make changes to your computer". I click yes, but it still asks next time I open program

I upgraded firefox. Since upgrading I am asked the above questions. If I ask the program to fix the problem I'm told the program in not compatible. I tried "go back to previous version". I don't think it did, and I'm still asked if I want Firefox to make changes. When I click yes, Firefox will open.
But is will ask me again when I try to reopen.
Everything else seems to work.
Also can't seem to down load and get Plug Ins working.

Which compatibility settings are you using?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

• Before Firefox opens the User account control comes up and asks: Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer? Must hit yes for Firefox to open. This happens every time and adjusting the level of notification does not help.

It started happening after a recent update from both windows and firefox

Thanks for the help I'll keep the info just in case - but I got so frustrated that I just deleted the program and then re downloaded the current version now everything works fine.

• Each time I open FF, box asks me if I want to allow Firefox prog. to make changes to this compter. I can only go in if I tick yes each time. Never used to do this.

Each time I open FF, box asks "Do you want to allow the Firefox program to make changes to this computer?" Details are something about x86 exe files. I can only open firefox when I click yes. Only started doing this today. Also printer has stopped printing. Not sure if its related.

• How Do I get a startup program to automatically respond to the "Is it OK for this program to make changes to this computer" challenge?

I want to add a program to the Windows 7 Startup. Whenever I run this program manually I get a "Do you want to allow this program to make changes...." challenge. How do I add this program to my startup file and get it to respond "Yes"

Task Scheduler will allow you to bypass UAC on startup (Basic Task > Star Program at Log On > Tick 'Highest Privileges')..
Your other option is Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit.. It enables you to disable UAC for any application you choose to trust. The compatibility fix you need
to select is RunAsInvoker.

• Windows keeps asking if I want to allow the program to make a change even though cc 2014 is installed.

Just installed CC 2014. It shows in my Start menu with the install shield. Whenever I attempt to open CC 2014, I get a dialogue box asking if I want to allow the program to make changes to the computer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and can't get it to go away.

This would only happen if you never installed it with sufficient administrative privileges and the user permissions are not set correctly. therefore reinstall it as admin.

I imagine a ton of people are attempting to download it right now. Simple patience, maybe keep trying, and if possible, try a little later. Think of it as all those people lining up at Apple Stores + about a million more.

Try running several malware scanners to see if Kaspersky missed anything. It is best to run several as each will pick up things that the others miss. Some scanners you can try are:
