I had this problem too after i upgdatd to OS X Mavericks... only the songs on my iphone 5s that i purchased from itunes would play.
i read something about it being a syncing issue. when you plug your phone into your computer with the usb cable, the person said to switch from automatic syncing of itunes to the "manual" option. mine was already set to manual so i wasn't sure anything would work. BUT, when i plugged my phone into my computer, it started to sync all of my music on my phone again (top of itunes bar where song playing/time is listed said "now syncing 123/534 songs to x's iphone"). once that was completed, i checked the music app on my iphone and everything was back to normal!
so, i would suggest setting your music syncing settings to manual if you haven't tried that yet!

How is your iPhone's display different?
You can check the model number by going to Settings/General/About. These are the model numbers for the various 3 GS models;

Typically the adding of an attachment to an email is done by the email program being used.
Regarding files attached to an email; rather than attempting to directly open these save a copy to your computer.
Use Adobe Reader to view the PDFs that you have saved in this manner (do a "file - open").

Everytime I try to use FF, dozens of pop ups come up saying FF wants to use various Fuji and Fusi fonts. Nothing I do seems to stop these popups and it takes me 10 minutes before I can use FF. why does this happen; how can I stop it.

The specific message runs something like this: Firefox wants to use Fuji Extended Bod Italic on the volume WD startup. It is not installed. Allow Firefox to use it?
I can choose allow or don't and there is a checkbox that says "do not ask me again." no combination of these options stops the progression of pop ups, which can last for minutes and will start all over again next time I start firefox.

Using a TiVo DVR, rather than the X1; a Roamio Plus or Pro would solve both the concern over the quality of the DVR, as well as providing the MoCA bridge capability the poster so desperately wanted the X1 DVR to provide. Every time I open Firefox, a second "Manage Sync" tab automatically opens. Why is this happening?

When I launch Firefox I get a tab that automatically opens bringing me to the "Manage Sync" window. Today when I launched Firefox there were two "Manage Sync" tabs. I dont know if this is an issue with 35.0.1 or not, but I just reinstalled windows on my desktop and laptop, and the tabs are automatically opening on both systems. I'm not seeing an option to stop this from happening.....whats going on?

My issue has been solved. It was my homepage settings. I must have set Gmail to my homepage while the "Manage Sync" tab was still open and it made both tabs my homepage =)

My problem is the opposite. My desktop apparently removes the mail from the mail servers before my iPad can read it.
One of my email accounts is a POP account. mail has a setting to leave the mail on the server, but I can't see that it makes any difference. The mail going to that account still doesn't make it to my iPad. I also have an IMAP account, but I don't see a similar setting.

This is a long-standing design flaw in Apple Mail.
Prior to Mavericks, this command in Terminal would stop the annoying behavior:
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool yes
This Terminal command stopped working in Mail 7.1 under Mavericks. I have reported this to Apple as both a feature request and a bug. You should too.

iCloud mail does not reconnect in Mail on my MacBook Pro after sleep or after disconnecting and reconnecting my iPhone. This only happens when I use my iPhone as a 3G-modem and not when I am on Wi-Fi. The only solution seems to be to quit the Mail-application and restart it again. Then Mail reconnects to iCloud.

Given your description of the issue (works on other Macs), it may be worth trying to set up that account by itself in a new test user on the iMac to see if it can be isolated to a user-specific file. You may find the following article helpful:
