If you have already updated to Pages 5.2 on your Mac, you may be trying to open the file with a previous version of Pages. If this is the case, you have two versions of Pages on your Mac & are trying to open Pages 5 documents with Pages 4. Are you launching Pages from an icon in your Dock? Installing the update does not change the Dock icons & it does not remove the older versions. Go to your Applications folder & launch the new Pages from there then right-click on the Dock icon & select Options > Keep in Dock.
Installing new versions of iWork has never replaced existing versions. This is nothing new. The only thing new is that the '09 apps are moved to an iWork '09 folder if they were purchased from the Mac App Store. If they were installed from disk they should already be in a separate folder in Applications. -

PowerPC refers to the processing chip used by Apple before they transferred to Intel chips. They are very different, and applications written only for PPC Macs cannot work on a Mac running Lion.
You could contact the developers to see if they have an updated version in the pipeline. -

This sounds like you are trying to edit an XFA form (created perhaps by LiveCycle Designer). These forms are not editable by the mobile Reader. You are welcome to share your form with us at [email protected] and I can confirm or give you a better answer (there are some less common reasons that the fields are locked like encryption, signatures, document passwords or disabled filling rights).

I have a G5 mac using ver 10.4.11 and a newer mac using ver 10.8.4 these are networked. using the new mac i looked up my my photo on the old mac. It then said you need to upgrade your library which it did. Now the old mac can not open the photos and say that I need to upgrade my I photo to a newer version. The old mac has no more support from apple in software update so I am not sure where I should go from here. can I use new soft ware with the old mac
The other part of the upgrade message was a warning that once you upgraded you would no longer be able to open the library with the old version which is exaclty what you did and what happened when you choose to continue
The iphoto library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of iPhoto. Your photo library will not be readable by previous versions of iphoto after the upgrade. The upgrade process may take several minutes depending on the number of photos in the library. Cancel or upgrade.
So now your choices are to not use iPhoto with the previous version using it onky with the newer version, restore your backup from before you did this upgrade or purchase iPhoto Library Manager and use it to rebuild the library using the older version of iPhoto (instructions are on their web site) thereby downgrading it (without projects)

I have problem syncing my music to ipad. Most of the songs are duplicated but only in ipad. I checked the music library in itunes and there didn't have the duplicated songs like in the ipad. I can not delete the duplicated songs inmy ipad.

This may be related to a new feature embedded in iOS7 that shows all purchased music by default. Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music. See if the issue ceases once the feature has been disabled. This information is located on page 63 of the user guide below.

I have an imac osx 5 months old. For the first time today I can not open my desktop folders which are very important to me. How can I open these folders.
The message when I click on the folder is "appleworks 6 quit unexpectedly". I can not open the folder. I understand code injected into a specific app like safari that uses the global environment variable to access the code in /Users/Shared. In a related matter, I got word from the PC side of the house that similar techniques are being used by drive-by infections that were injecting code into a running app which would disappear when they quit the app. A one-time infection, so to speak. Makes it really hard to even know you were temporarily infected, let alone how, why, what damage, etc. -

• My earlier suggestion for accepting cheques from those who like me do not have any cr. card has still not been accepted.
• You please incorporate features from other good programmes as these are still not there in FireFox and I am using only this since when I first installed it and I do not intend to use any other but these features as I remember were available few years back are still not there in Mozilla so today there should be many more features which can be incorporated in Firefox.
• When the connection is on but not opened i.e. the connection has been switched on but not opened i.e. the modem lights are on and not off then if I go back to a page opened then the Firefox shows loading problem but if I switch off the modem then I can access that very same page. This should be taken care of so that even if I switch on the modem but the connection is not on even then I should be able to see the page 1 or 2 or many pages backwards.
• Then I can not open the history even of today and see that page whereas earlier I could click any history page and it showed even if it was 5 days old (which is my setting) and I have not changed any setting.
• I also thank the all add-on creators because I have installed very few but even then these are very useful.
• I would also suggest that you incorporate these add-ons in the FireFox itself for example I suggested many moons back that let there be a system of any number of tabs being opened (and a few more suggestions) and it is available as add –on in tab mix plus which I have now installed.
• I also request to everyone concerned to give his ideas as to what other features can be incorporated in Firefox and these suggestions be on your website and after a certain number of well wishers and users select the idea you please either develop it yourselves or any well wisher can do it and then it can be incorporated in the Firefox.
• I also give you my suggestion which is not available presently to my knowledge in the browser or add-ons this is that if I move a window in tab mix plus then it is always in a window for each tab but instead of that my suggestion is that I should be able to move any no. of tabs or any other tab to one particular window only and that too in any manner I like in any sequence like at a particular No. of tab say 15th etc.
• I also feel presently having some problem that when I shut down the computer after save and quit pages that are there are not reopened. Loading problem in those pages appears I do not know the reason but Firefox should be able to show all the last page/pages/window/windows I was perusing after I saved and quit.

Please provide more details about your computer along with the graphics card. Also, A log file might help identify the cause of the crash. Please right-click 'My Computer', select "Manage," look under 'Event Viewer->Windows Logs->Application' to see if there's an event there from Premiere Pro. If so, copy the contents of that log and paste them here.

I have Lion OS X 10.7 on my MacBook Pro 15'' and I've tried to install an application for an external Maxtor hard drive.
But it seems to be compatable only with previous Operating Systems because now every 5 seconds I get the popup
"You can't open the application NotificationExec because PowerPC applications are no longer supported".
I have deleted all the applications of the external hard drive from the Applications folder, and from the trash as well.
But it doesn't help because the message is continuing to pop-up.
Please help me somehow.I had already formatted the external Maxtor external hard drive but it didn't help because the problem came when after formatting I tried to install an application (belonging to Maxtor) to the MacBook. The application was meant for an operating system previous to Lion.
The solution is to remove everything belonging to Maxtor from your Mac.
I deleted the Maxtor application from the Applications folder, but it wasn't enough. After struggling in google I found this solution and it worked!
HERE IS THE SOLUTION:
First remove all the Maxtor applications you've installed from the Applications folder (just trash them and empty the trash).
Then go to Finder and from Macintosh HD -> Library -> Driver Support -> DELETE THE MAXTOR APPSYOU FIND IN THIS FOLDER AND EMPTY THE TRASH !
But the Library folder is hidden, so if you don't know how to find it (I don't remember exactly because I did it at 1 am at night in the desperation after looking for the solutions in many forums for hours) you can go to Helpand write library, then from All Help -> what is the Library folder? and there it is explained!

Today while on internet I keep getting a message you can't open the application ASExecute because PowerPC Applications are no longer supported. It seems to happen when I am on EMusic site downloading music. I can find no reference to ASExecute on Google or on my iMac. However the music is still downloading. Should I just ignore it? Any suggestions appreciated...

It ocurred for me when I was downloading emusic files through the "eMusic Download Manager" app. The files downloaded fine, but they never automatically imported to iTunes. So...I'm guessing "ASExecute" might be an app launched by eMusic manager when it finishes downloading?

Shortly after upgrading to version 10.7, I installed an application that was not compatable with the LION operating system. The application was for an external Maxtor hard drive that appearantly was intened for an earlier Mac operating system.
Now I get the popup "You can't open the application NotificationExec because PowerPC applications are no longer supported" about every 10 seconds.
How to I get rid of this.
There is nothing to Force Quit. The process (if it is a process) does not show up in Activity Monitor. I have also tried to use the KILLALL command but no process is found by that name.Absolutely frustrated by the same problem, just lost 3 hours of my day trying to uninstall after getting the same error message. Pages is not saving document correctly. After saving the changes either do not appear or you can not open the file. The error is "not a valid format" I am in Pages '09 4.1 (923). I also use Parallels. Anyone having similar issues?
I'm not sure that Lion AutoSave feature apply to network servers.
