I reset network settings on my iPhone. However now it looks as if my iPhone and iPad are no longer linked. They are both connected to my apple account but when I send an imessage from one it is not picked up by the other. What do I do?

Check Settings > Messages > Send & Receive on both your iPhone and your iPad to make sure that the following are all true:
(1) you have selected the same Apple ID on both devices,
(2) you have the same entries checked under "You can be reached by iMessage at:" on both devices,
(3) you have the same entry checked under "Start new conversations from:" on both devices,
and
(4) that the entry checked in #3 is one of those checked in #2 on both devices.
When you say it has affected your iCloud account, what effect has it had?

It's not the iTunes account, it's Apple ID that iMessages gets distributed.

Your message on your screen shows up blue if sent as iMessage or green if sent as regular text. If not connected to wi-fi or cellular data, iMessage isn't available to/from. Both of you need a data connection for iMessage to work.
But your message on the recipient's screen will show up white. -

Next try :) I send a iMessage from my ipad (wifi only) to a friend and he answers but i don't receive the answer on the ipad but on the iphone instead. Both devices using the same Apple ID (Settings>Messages>Receive At, same Adress on both devices). I tought iMessages are always received on bothe devices, like the advertisment says i should be able to start a iMessage conversation on ipad and finish it on iphone because both devices receive my iMessages... Thats not like it is on my devices, most times iMessages are only received from the iphone. -

If you're using T-Mobile in the US, T-Mobile is NOT a supported carrier of the iPhone. Not all features will work.

When I send an email from one of my accounts, it shows up as sent from another account. Does anyone know how to correct this?
As Ernie said, you need to create an SMTP server for each gmail account with the correct username and password. Be sure the correct server for each account is listed in the SMTP box and check the box to use only that server for that account.
Gmail's default behavior when sending from one account through another account's outgoing server is to change the address to the server which is used. Same goes if I send a message from my ATT/Yahoo account and use gmail's server to send through. It will change the ATT address to the gmail address.
There is an option in gmail's settings under the Account's tab under Send Mail As. You can add different gmail or other accounts such as Yahoo to this and choose how the gmail server handles it. You can set it to send as the sending account and not change the address. I've used this many times for my ATT account for sending through gmail when ATT accounts were having problems.
You can add the different accounts to each gmail account you have. -

Are you using her Apple ID and email on your iPad? The Message app uses your Apple ID as the contact at which you can be reached.

AlainIn Mail preferences under composing tab, check to see what you have for sending new messages from.
You can also check the account settings and make sure you have the correct SMTP server for each account and the correct settings for each. Also check the box to use only that server for the account so it doesn't switch to another accounts server without asking if there is a failure with one. -
i have four accounts on my mail application. but whenever i send a mail from one account, it goes through other account.
Look at Mail / Accounts, then choose the Account icon. See if the Outgoing server box is set to the correct entry for each of your accounts.

Did you check your user name and password in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...tap your email account, tap SMTP, then tap the primary server name. Make sure the settings there are correct.

My iphone ipad and imessage are all interlinked with my hotmail (apple id.) However this now means when i send an imeesage from my iphone it appears tomy friends as my email, i don't want this to happen! Also when iphone users text my mobile number it doesn't come through to my iphone so i end up missing out on text messages a lot - how can i sync my iphone to receive all texts and imessages but to my mobile number only?Simply disable all incoming methods of iMessages other then your phone number.
Settings > Messages > Send and Receive at > You may be reached at > Unselect your email addresses.
Now when your friends send you an iMessage they can only send it to your phone number. -

a while back i was in a group chat and was spammed with thousands, yes, thousands of texts at once. when i started up my computer, imessage attempted to load the messages. Now, when i send a message it will show up on my phone, but i cant see it on my computer, when i hit send it just vanishes. this is an improvement from months ago however, when my messages wouldnt even send. im running 10.8.5.
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
Back up all data.
Quit Messages if it’s running.
Step 1
Hold down the option key and select
Go ▹ Library
from the Finder menu bar. Move the following items from the Library folder to the Trash (either may not exist):
Caches/com.apple.Messages
Caches/com.apple.imfoundation.IMRemoteURLConnectionAgent
Leave the Library folder open. Log out and log back in. Try Messages again. If it works now, stop here. Close the Library folder.
Step 2
If you still have problems, quit Messages again. Go back to the Finder and move the following item from the open Library folder to the Desktop:
Messages
Note: you are not moving the Messages application. You’re moving a folder named “Messages.”
Test. If Messages now works, delete the Messages folder on the Desktop. Otherwise, quit Messages again. Put back the folder you moved, overwriting the newer one that may have been created in its place, and continue.
Step 3
In the Preferences subfolder, there may be several files having names that begin with any of the following strings:
com.apple.iChat
com.apple.ids
com.apple.imdsmsrecordstore
com.apple.imessage
com.apple.imservice
Move them all to the Desktop. There may also be a file with the name "com.apple.imagent.plist". Move that to the Trash.
Also in the Preferences folder, there's a subfolder named "ByHost". Open it and do the same thing.
Log out and log back in. Test again. This time Messages should perform normally, but your settings will be lost. You may be able to put back some of the files you moved to the Desktop in this step. Relaunch and test after each one. Eventually you should find one or more that causes Messages to malfunction. Delete those files and recreate whatever settings they contained.
If the issue is still not resolved, quit Messages again and put all the items you moved to the Desktop back where they were. You don’t need to replace the items you moved to the Trash. Stop here and post again.
If you later decide that you don’t like the results of steps 2 and 3, you can undo them completely by quitting Messages and restoring the items you deleted in those steps from your backup.
