I restored my macbook pro and updated to OSX 10.10.1, however i didn't get iMovie when i updated?

is there a way to get it back, without buying it from the app store?? i have a time capsule that has my back ups on it, and i have iMovie in those backups, but i can't access any of my old old backups using the time machine app. i have to it through finder in order to access those old backups, so is there a way i can copy it over through finder? any help is appreciated! thanks

Yes. If you can get your previous backup on you desktop, you can pull the intyre Imovie folder out and install it in your home folder. Also the Imovie folder in applications. Then you should be able to update it. If your using time machine for you backups you can. go to the web and look up installing file from time machine.

have you tried looking in the App Store, to see if you can redownload iWeb and iPhoto there gratis?
If you haven’t done so already, you should purchase an external hard drive to act as a Time Machine backup destination, so that you’ll have an option to rollback to a working environment if a new OS installation is troublesome.

Disable anti virus software.
Apps such as Little Snitch, Net Nanny, and Hands Off can prevent apps from downloading including Mountain Lion as well as third party download managers.
Keep in mind, for downloading Mountain Lion from the App Store, a high speed (broadband) internet connection is strongly recommended by Apple as noted here > iTUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
If you need to reinstall OS X or repair the the startup disk using Mountain Lion Recovery, that requires broadband access to the internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. OS X is downloaded over the internet form Apple when OS X Recovery is used for reinstallation.

I had to restore my Macbook Pro from Time Capsule yesterday and now when I go to log in as my usual Admin, it says there is a FileVault error and my access is denied. I created another temporary Admin acct, but everything I had on my desktop, etc is "gone" I can look up the "drive' or wahtever it's called, but I can't access any of it. I have tried to turn off my modem and after that i turned on each machine individually it worked for a while giving my macbook pro and my Imac different IP address.. but the problem came back again and im here with 2 similar IP addresses on each machine and once that happen i lose the internet on both of them.. and I get an exclamation mark on my Airoport symbol.
how can i change my IP address and where can i get a new 1.. should i just make it up..??

CS3 with Bridge and DNG converter on new MacBook Pro and update recognition

I have CS 3 with Bridge. I installed it on my MAC desktop in 2008 and had to update the DNG converter to recognize my Nikon D700 raw files. I have a new MAC Book Pro and installed the software on it but it does not recognize the raw files, I downloaded the updated DNG converter but unlike the desktop it did not automatically update as I recalled it did in 2008. On the DNG Converter window the #1 selection is select image to convert, #2 Select location to save conver timages and #3 select name for converted images. Not sure what to do here, it all most leads me to believe i need to do this each time I download raw images?
Any step by step help is appreciated!

There have been many stories of people getting free replacements, a close friend has received four replacement iPhones after the screen cracked from dropping it.
Screens crack due to a variant of reasons, humidity/climate change. If someone punched it and broke it deliberately then of course it shouldn't be replaced but it should be able to withstand some drops/pressure on top.
It may not be under warranty but you will find people who got a nice genius to replace it anyway.

Open Mail, then under Mail, Preferences, look at the gmail account and find the settings for the account...see how the deletion is set. If it deletes on opening, or when removed from the inbox (same thing) change that so the email stays available on the server. Do that on both machines. See if that makes things work right for you.

Contacts are missing in Macbook pro and iCloud address book

Hi, i backup my iPhone to my macbook pro and Icloud . When i looked into contacts, some contacts are missing and its not sync into macbook pro and iCloud also. How to fix this? how to get all contacts to my addressbook in both macbook pro and Icloud?

I had exported an address book backup: abbu
so since i wrote, i have found my way into the cloud: selected all entries - deleted them all from the cloud.
This wiped out contacts on my iphone and i pad, and MBP, as well as on the cloud. I then imported the abbu back into my now empty address book.
To repopulate the crowd, i selected all in my address book and created a single card vCard for export to my desktop. I then dragged that vcard into my empty cloud. Now my cloud has the same clean contacts as my MBP addressbook. The cloud then pushed the clean contacts into my empty ipad and iphone contacts.
I had to go back to Address Book>preferences>Accounts and Add an I cloud account - but if you accidentally create a second i cloud account - all of a sudden your address book will duplicate itself. I quickly reversed it by deleting one of the icloud accounts in my Address Book>preferences>Accounts.
I created a new entry on my MBP and it is now on all devices and in cloud
I also created a new entry on my iPhone and it is now in the address book on my MBP.
I feel empowered!!

point iTunes media folder location to the external
on the same tab, ensure the copy files ... when adding option is checkmarked
okay out of preferences
highlight the content to be moved (i.e. the movies) in iTunes and right-click
select consolidate files from the pop-up menu
wait for the process to finish
when done, you may delete the original files from your boot drive. you may also want to point iTunes media folder location back to your local iTunes folder.

no. airport express does not support the airdisk feature. you'd need an airport extreme (or time capsule) for that.
