I run windows 7. Have been unable to open itunes since updating last week. I have uninstalled itunes and reinstalled, and have checked run as administrator, but still can no open. I notice that there is now a shield with yellow and blue squares next to it, that i do not think were there before.

The ModName is ituneup.dll; the modver is 1.0.7.0.
Do you have the TuneUp plugin installed for your iTunes? If so, I think your copy is causing the issue here. Try the following document:

I am having this same problem. I took Kappy advice on restarting the Apple Mobile Device Service, however that did not work. I got this message in a pop up window that came up immediately.
Windows could not start the Apple Mobil Device Service on local computer.
Error 1053 The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
I have already uninstalled itunes, all the related programs and I cannot reinstall, this Apple Mobil Device message stops the install.
Can anyone please help? -

And check your caps look key. It appears to be stuck. -
i updated my ipod the other day and since i have been unable to open any apps that connect to the internet, its says "operation could not be completed. invalid argument". anybody help please?
Have yu tried the standard fixes:
- Reset the iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Restore the iPod via iTunes, First from backup and if problems persist, restore to factory defaults/new iPod. -
I updated the software on my 2009 MBP to Mountain Lion. Since then, my iPhoto has been unable to open my photo library. I have updated iPhoto, and still no luck. Any ideas for fixing this problem?

Since updating to ios7.0.2 on my i-phone5 I have been unable to open the i-tunes store app, basically it just opens for a second or two then shuts itself down, I've tried a soft reset, turning on and off, closing down all running apps but nothing seems to work, anyone else had the same problem and no how to fix it?

It sounds like iTunes launches for a split second, then quits unexpectedly.
I would recommend a few things for this issue. First, close all the running apps on the phone:
iOS: Force an app to close

Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that, sign out of your iTunes account in Settings > iTunes and App stores, and restart the phone:

If the issue persists, I would next backup your device to iTunes, and restore it:

I sync my iPhone on my computer yesterday. I have been unable to open my downloaded apps ever since. They blink when I tap them. Pls help...
Try downloading any free app (you can delete it later). This will re-authorize the iTunes account on your phone and will often fix this issue.

iBooks, as it says in the iTunes Store, are readable only on iOS devices; the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. They cannot be read on your computer.

Ever since I upgraded my iPad to IOS6, I have been unable to get into my work email, which is through Google. No problems before update.
Downgrading to an older iOS version is not supported on iOS devices.
Make sure that you have downloaded all of the updates for your apps and see if that helps.
Try this as well. if the Apple apps are working OK and it is the third party App Store apps that are crashing - try downloading another app - any free app. See if that helps.
You said that you reset the iPad but you may have to restore your iPad to factory settings and then to a backup if you can't resolve the problem. -

Since ios 7.0 I have been unable to use home sharing on my iPad v3 and iPhone 4S.
With ios 6, I was able to watch movies and listen to music on my iPad and iPhone streaming form my Windows 8.1 computer running iTunes 11.1.2.31. Now with ios 7 (currently runing 7.0.3 on both iPhone 4S and iPad v3) I can'd do this. Home sharing appears to time out after 30+ minutes. If you hit Cancel during any point, then click on the shared library again, you get a "Unable to turn on Home Sharing" error message. Both iPhone and iPad react exactly the same. However, my Apple TVs are working just fine and can view video or listen to audio with no difficulty. I have tried turning off home sharing, library sharing, deauthorizing the computer, closing iTunes, re-opening iTunes, the re-enabling everything, but no progress has been made.
Anyone have a suggetion on how to fix this?To add to this, I discovered that my iTouch works just fine with Home Sharing. It is running ios 5.1.1. Seems this is an ios 7 specific problem on the iPhone and iPad.

Thanks for any suggestions.I have a year old Epson and an HP.. I upgraded to a win 7 64 bit and doing some sharing/networking.. Got some 32 bit XPand two win 7 64 bit.. The Epson ,shares and connects up with no issues.. the HP is just a fiasco... No more HP for me ...

Hi, since I installed the latest update on my Mac I have been unable to open the contents of some emails because it is saying that pages does not recognise the font. For example it is saying 'some features aren't supported, the font Calibri isn't available on OS X. It was replaced with TrebuchetMS' This means that I cannot open letters from my daughters school. Is there any way round this other than getting rid of this nightmare MAC and going back to Windows!?

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
