I saved my file as a regular Indesign file, and when I went to open it on a different computer it had a lock on it and will not let me open it. Can someone please explain why this is happening and how to unlock it? It's for a very important and urgent pro

Assuming the file is stored on a network server, and the "other computer" is on that network as well; with InDesign not running on either, navigate to the folder where the InDesign file is stored and find the lock file (it will have the extension .idlk). Delete it.

Yes, but if you delete the iCloud account and start again, don't you have to wait 90 days for everything to start syncing?? I've been having this problem for months and no one seems to be able to figure it out. I used to have one Apple ID (which was not an email address) and then when iOS came along....and iCloud, they force you to use your email address as ID ....which actually sets up a SECOND Apple ID. I have a Mac, iPad, iPod touch and iPhone. the Apple techs tried to delete the iCloud accounts so that they all said the same thing (email address ID) but then I had to wait 90 days. the 90 days just passed and nothing is automatically syncing yet. I still think there are 2 accounts but if I delete all again.....it's going to be another 90 days (for security reasons, I was told). This is a real pain in the butt.

I was checking calendar entries in January and some have disappeared. I tried to re-enter them but they also disappear after a few seconds. I have looked for conflicting entries but here is nothing obvious. My iPad was new in January so these are the original entries I made. No idea what to try next.

Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Calendars>Sync, then be sure all events is marked.

Several times I've downloaded an album from iTunes to find that not all of the tracks were fully downloaded so that some of the tracks will skip to the next one (instead of finishing the song). Can anyone tell me why this happens and how I can fix it?
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the tracks and try redownloading fresh copies.
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.) -

What exactly happens when you try to buy something ? If you've already removed the card from your account then iTunes shouldn't be asking for any details about it.
If you log into into your account is the card still shown . On your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link. If you are doing it on your phone then tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.

Music in the event browser but it is not working in my video, can someone please explain this to me?
Hi I've been working on a Mac fir less than a week now and I'm using Final Cut Pro X.
For some odd reason my music isnt picking up in the timeline correctly, but is showing the audio file in the Event Library.
There are to Macs where I work and they are copies of each other; so what happens on the one happens on the other. With this in mind I duplicated the project and copied it onto the other Mac.
The odd thing about it is that 3 out of the 5 audio clips just dont pick up in the timeline that it is in the event library but you can manually find them there.
I would just like to know as how you can fix this, as I am working on a small project at the moment and if the project was bigger I would be in searious trouble.Please give the exact specifiations of the audio you're talking about? Is it compressed audio? It probably needs to be converted.

Last month though, I bought an iTouch, and during one of my classes someone stole it from my backpack, I know it. I do not know anyone who it might have been. No camera evidence either. I am wondering is their a way that I can track it. I checked the "Track my iPhone" but I think the person might have rest it to factory settings. Can they be traced in any way?

When I download an app it doesn't download automatically any more.. I've only had my iPad less than a month.
Just wondering why it has decided to change? XHere are a number of things that you can try.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons
And you can always finish the app updates in iTunes on your computer and then sync them to the iPad. -
Most of the time I get The Connection Was Reset. Can someone tell me why this happens?
When I click on Firefox or when browsing or going from one site to the other I get "The connection was reset" then have to click on Try Again.
Can someone tell me why this is happening?

THE CONNECTION WAS RESET again this morning. I even get this message when I click on the Firefox Icon to get on the net. When for example I download something then it returns me to their site I get The Connection Was Reset. When I uninstall a program and it sends to to their site in order to answer as to why I am uninstalling their program then I get The Connection Was Reset.
Every time this happens I have to click on Try Again and find this to be annoying.
This does not happen once or twice a week, it happen ALL THE TIME.
This morning I went to Safe Mode and followed the instructions on INTERRUPTED OR RESET CONNECTION which tells us what to do but this did not work either.
Would be great if someone was able to let me know what to do in order to prevent this message appearing all the time.Do not know how to delete this reply. I replied instead of editing my question. I have edited the above now.

I recently migrated from a MBP with OS 10.6 to a MCB with OS 10.8. Some glitches are popping up. Here's the one on my mind at the moment:
When saving or opening documents, I get a warning such as: "Word cannot save this document due to a naming or permissions error on the destination volume." Can someone please explain?Since this is isolated to a single file, try exporting it to Interchange Format (.inx), then open and save the resulting file as a new InDesign file.
Since the problem occurs during export, that may not be possible. Another option to try would be to copy all elements, page by page, and "paste in place" into a new document the same size. If you used layers, be sure to enable "paste remembers layers" in the layers panel menu.
This kind of problem is often indicative of an underlying font issue. You said there are only three fonts, and you should verify that in Type > Find Font... Try replacing, at least temporarily the fonts in use with something else that you know to be reliable from other documents. You might want to do this before the other steps.

In Pages 09 we can do Mail Merge and Import Styles from a document. Can someone please explain how we can do this with the new version of Pages 5.1. Even Apple solutions are only valid for Pages Version 09. What a DOWN GRADE! Thank god Pages 09 is still there.

Just use Pages '09, which should be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Rate/review Pages 5 in the App Store.

Within music Library can anyone please explain why after I select the option to sort 'Album by Artist' a number of tracks are being treated as separate albums? How can I fix this? I have tried to manually correct by 'drag and drop' individual tracks but that doesn't work. My music library includes a number of repeat album artwork images simply because not all tracks are being listed under the one album making my library more difficult to use than it should. Any advise would be appreciated.

what does it mean when you're about to install itunes and it says This update requires OS X version 10.6.8 or later.??? i don't understand... Can someone please explain to me what that means...??? And how to fix it.
1. It means exactly what it says. Apple dropped support for earlier Mac OS X versions in iTunes 10.7.
2. Update the computer to 10.6.8. If it's running a Mac OS X version prior to 10.6, this requires buying a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store, which requires an Intel Mac with at least 1GB of RAM.
