Which system are you running (is this information correct in your profile)?
Are there complicating issues to this question such as you transferring libraries between computers?

  • When opening files "Not enough memory to load TIFF file."

Mac just had a new build of OSX 10.6.8.
Total memory 4gb of which over 3gb is free.
Open any image gives a memory error "Not enough memory to load TIFF file"

Open the linked tiff file(s) in photoshop, and resave with LZW Compression (OFF I Believe). I know you can place an lzw tiff adn usually works fine, but I believe i had this in the past and turned it off/chanegd the RLE settings and Illustrator was made happy. Also look for if the image is  photoshop >> image >> 8 bits/channel.

  • While opening specific Document "Not enough Memory" while rendering the Document with Large Image

When Opening a PDF-File with a Large Image, the Adobe Reader and Acrobat will Crash while rendering with the Message Out of Memory.
After some investigations this error is reproducable on Windows 2008 R2 and 2012 R2 Machines running on HP ProLiant BL460c Gen8.
The Servers are updated with the latest Firmware from HP.
This error does not occure on a Virtual Machine running Windows 2008 R2, so it seems like a Hardware dependent Bug.
When disabling the Option Show large Images, the error will not Show up. But this is neither a solution nor a workarround, as we Need to Display all Information in the PDF.
    Thanks for any Help

    Hello SumitV
    Thanks for your answer.
Indeed the Output File can be opened without any Errors. It's a good workarround, but it's not a solution.
Why does it work (and much faster) on a Virtual Machine, but not on a very Powerful HP Machine?
I hope Adobe will investigate in this case to solve it completely.
We have a test machine where we could install some debug tools, are there any to get a deeper analysis of this problem?
    Thanks a lot.

  • Illustrator CS3 - "Not enough memory to place the file."  Help!!!???

I have a new machine running XP Pro 64.  Intel i7 processor, 12 gb ram.
I am trying to place a fairly small Photoshop image (with layers) into Illustrator CS3.  I have done this countless times with XP 32 bit os.
But now, I cannot place even a small Photoshop image into Illustrator... I keep getting the error "Not enough memory to place the file."
I tried the suggestion of 'right-clicking' the Illy launch icon and going to properties/compatibility and then selecting "Run this program in compatibility mode for..."  and then I check marked Windows XP.
Someone else said this worked in Vista 64.....but it DID NOT work for XP 64.....dang it.
    Any suggestions???
    Thanks

Well..... I just tried the same function on my 64 bit Leopard operating system on my MacBook Pro just for kicks.  Worked flawlessly!!
So, why won't it work on XP 64 bit? Is this a case of 'the mac os is just better?"
Talk about flame bait -- You trying to start the platform wars again? ;-D
Can anyone tell me if they can place a Photoshop image from WINDOWS 7 64 bit OS into Illustrator without issue?  We're talking 'PLACE' .... not paste.
Don't know about Windoze 7; but that operation works in Vista x64. XP x64 is
quite flaky at times. It was never finished IMHO.
Sure would like to know.  I'd upgrade if it made the difference.

  • Not enough memory to load the tiff file

I did a search for this problem and there were two threads about it but I can't post to them. I think they are archived. Unfortunately, there was no answer to this problem in there.
The error "not enough memory to load tiff file" has been occuring in our shop on various computers with different resources. I believe that it has happened on our Mac as well. All are running Illustrator CS2 except the Mac which is running Illustrator CS3 and Leopard.
Has there been any progress on what the problem is? Has anyone found a solution that doesn't involve having to resave tif files as other formats to get them into the original Illustrator document? Or a solution that does not involve a huge work around?
I don't know the specs of all the computers in our shop but the one that I'm working on has the following specs:
Pentium 4, 2.8 GHz with 2.5 GB of RAM
Windows XP Pro Version 2002; service pack 3
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • ERROR! "There is not enough memory to open this scene."

I have a file that is proving impossible to reopen.
Whenever I open it i receive an error message that says
"There is not enough memory to open this scene. Your document is
not damaged and may be safely saved. To increase available memory,
close open documents or quit and use Get Info command in the Finder
to allocate more memory to Flash."
I have looked all over the internet for help and although
this seems to be a pretty popular problem, no one ever has a
solution. Some people claim it is because of a corrupt file they
tried to import. I don't have any files in the library of this
document and it is all completely vector.
I desperately need this file. Do have any ideas regarding
what I can do? Thanks a lot.

You just posted that it seems to be a popular problem. We see
that complaint a lot, ever since MX2004 came out. Usually
    associated
    with the larger fla files.
Once the fla is corrupted there isn't a recover tool for it
(that I have heard of) You can start over or use a decompiler to
recover the pieces and code from it to use on your new one.
soThink swf decompiler can usually make a pretty good fla from a
working swf file (but not always)

  • IPod touch 4 gives message "Cannot Download" "there is not enough available storage to download...You can manage your storage in settings." when trying to update or install one but not all apps. I have more storage than the app takes. Can u help?

iPod touch 4 gives message "Cannot Download" "there is not enough available storage to download...You can manage your storage in settings." when trying to update or install one of the apps, but not other apps.  I have more space available than needed for the app.  What do I need to do to fix this problem?  Do I need to completely reset this device as new and, if so, how should I do that?

You need to delete some item (apps, music, photos etc) from the iPod,.However, sometime files get corrupt. To determine that connect the iPod to your computer and click on the iPod under Devices in iTunes. How much storage is used by the "other" category. If over 1 1/2 GB that indicates corrupted files.
To get the "other" down to normal value you need to restore your iPod usually restoring from backup works but sometimes restoring to factory settings.new iPod is required./

  • "not enough memory to place the file" error message

    hello all,
running windows 7, illustrator cs3 on a pc.
trying to open or place psd files in illustrator and get the following message "not enough memory to place the file".
I've reset illustrator prefs, disabled "enable desktop connection", check scratch discs, etc.
Nothing seems to be addressing the problem, has anyone else run into this?

There's no such thing as an "Illustrator CS3 portable" version. What you have is an illegal torrent download. Any issues you experience may be due to the illegal copying of the software.

  • Not enough memory to open the illustration error

    I have Adobe CS5.
I am running it on a laptop with 4 GB of memory.
    Windows 6.1
but when I open the system info in the product, it says I have 3836 MB of memory.
Only Illlustrator is loaded and I cannot open any illustrator files.  I cannot even make a blank file.
I get the error message not enough memory to open the illustration.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled this product and it still doesn't work.
I tried the chat after 10 minutes of waiting for help they said they no longer support CS5 please try the phone.
I spent 20 minutes on hold only to find out that phone support is no longer available unless I want to spend $40 for an answer.
I am pretty angry and frustrated.
I have searched my computer for a /etc/launchd.conf file but I cannot find it.
    I am stuck please help.

I have searched my computer for a /etc/launchd.conf file but I cannot find it.
That would be Mac only.... Anyway, start by trashing the prefs in the prefs folder:
    Important Directories
Beyond that you might consider reinstalling Adobe Reader/ Acrobat. Some of these errors are caused by damaged shared PDf components. if the machine has a specific printer installed, remove it (temporarily) and uninstall its driver. This may also help, if files have stored printer information. Likewise, check your system's color settings and color profile usage. "Bad" profiles can have all sorts of negative influence...

  • Error Message "Not Enough Memory to Open Illustrator"

    Hi,
Im running adobe illustrator cs5 on windows 7 and have previously had no problems. Today however when I opened a pdf I got the error message "Not enough memory to open illustrator" I have searched and cannot find a reason for this error. It now happens nearly every time I open a pdf. I increased my windows 7 virtual memory, however, this does not seem to have any effect. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Something is blocking PDF handling (a security tool) on the system level and/or one of the shared Adobe components for PDF handling has been updated/ changed, most likely. Do the PDFs properly open in Acrobat/ Adobe Reader? Investigate these things. Also of course simply trash your AI prefs to make sure you are not a victim of tainted config data...

  • Opening PSD File - Not Enough Memory

I created a sequence of images from Particle Illusion in a PSD format. When I open one of the images in Photoshop (CS3), it opens - no problem. When I try to open it in Illustrator CS3, I get the message "Not enough memory to place the file".

On Windows XP 64, opening PSD files with Illustrator CS3 does not seem to work.
What you can do to resolve this issue is to save the file as PNG in Photoshop. That can be opened in Illustrator and transprency is preserved.

  • Not Enough memory to open the Illustration

    Hi,
I saw in the site http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/832/cpsid_83270.html
that below problem exist. Is that been solved. Is there any alternative way to perform the action.
Error "Not Enough memory to open the Illustration"  when opening a placed image InDesign CS4 with Illustrator hidden
    Thanks

Firstly, you may apply free to try product, it would repair your problem illustrator file and to import it to new .ai file with saving all content. This tool is named Illustrator Repair Toolbox. Prove it for free from here: http://www.illustrator.repairtoolbox.com/
    This solution from adobe blog
    Make Illustrator visible.
This issue appears only on Mac OS 10.6.x. The error message sometimes occurs when you drag files from the Finder to the Illustrator icon in the dock. The error can also occur when you right-click an Illustrator SmartObject in Photoshop and choose Edit Contents.
As ultimate measure you have to upgrade your MAC OS.

  • Illustrator CS5 Error - "Not enough memory to save the file"

    Hey guys,
I'm experiencing difficulties in exporting website from .AI to .PSD using Illustrator CS5.1 under Windows7 Home Premium 64bit. The error message says "Not enough memory to save the file".
I can assure you that i've got enough memory for scratch disks and my computer is powerful enough to handle this operation. The funny thing is that i am able to export the very same .Ai file using Illustrator CS5.1 under Windows XP 32bit on different PC.
I've tried to find a solution online, but it gave no satisfying results so far. So, i think the problem comes from the operating system, but i don't know how to fix it... any suggestions?
    Thanks, Steve.

Sad to say I'm running into the same problem with a 40KB file.....
(download the following file and use it)
    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8c/2.4_GHz_Wi-Fi_channels_%28802.11b%2Cg_W LAN%29.svg
    File -> Open
    Modify the file slightly:
    doubleclick the image
remove the channel 14 info  (the text block "14" & "2.484",  the T shaped path, the dotted half circle path)
drag a square around the "Channel", "Center Frequency", "(GHz)" text blocks and hold left shift and press the left arrow until the selected items are tighter to the rest of the image
select the bold base line, grab the right middle point to shrink the line (dragging from right to the left) until 'intersect' shows up, then release
click the top left "Back One Level" arrow 2 times so that you are back to the top level (out of isolation mode)
File -> Export -> Choose PSD
    Export Options (all default settings)
    Color Model RGB
    Medium (150ppi)
    Write Layers
      Preserve Text Editability
      Maximum Editability
    Antialias
    Click OK.....
    POOF! ERROR!
"Not enough memory to save the file"
note: saving as .ai file before exporting doesn't solve the problem
    My Environment:
    Adobe Illustrator 15.0.2
    Win7x64 SP1
    6GB free RAM (8GB installed)
    55GB Free HDD space (256GB total, it's a SSD)
    4GB pagefile
Please try the test method provided for yourself and advise, thank you

  • There is not enough memory available on the Essbase Administration Server to open this outline

When I am trying to open outline it is showing the below error-
"There is not enough memory available on the Essbase Administration Server to open this outline"
Please advise what can be the reason and how can we solve them?
I checked the earlier post https://forums.oracle.com/message/4434719 and JVMOption is set with the current maximum size of the JVM e.g. -Xmx512m. Still we are receiving the error. Could you please help?

    Thanks John for the reply.
    Couple of things
    1) We use Block Storage Outline. Does it matter while compacting the outline using ESSCMDQ?
    2)  At the moment the JVM is set to -Xmx512m. Should we increase from 512 to 1024 or what is recommended.
We are doing ESSBASE 7.1.3  to 11.x (11.1.2.2) migration (AS IT IS migration) and we are facing this problem. Quite strange that we didn't get any memory error version 7.x whereas we are getting error in 11.x  My understanding is that the current ESSBASE server has 6 GB RAM and in all ways it has higher capacity than server 7.x. But not sure why we are getting this strange error.
Is it possible to check the JVM size in ESSBASE 7.1.3 (or where we need to check the memory size).
    Thanks in advance.
    Satheesh.
