I set up my verizon email account on my iPhone 5, but I can only receive emails and not send them.

I set up my Verizon email account on my iPhone 5,but now my phone is only letting me recieve emails and not send any.

You could go to icloud.com on your computer, then download your iCloud calendar as an .ics file as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4910 (under Calendar...icloud.com Calendar), then import this to a supported program on your computer such as Outlook or Mac iCal (if you have one) and sync it to your phone using iTunes; or if you don't have a supported program, import it to an external service such as Google Calendar (see http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/30834/add-an-ical-or-.ics-calendar-to-google-cale ndar/) and sync it to your phone using a gmail exchange account (as explained here: http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138740).

  • TS3899 My ipood touch works fine when at home and on my own wi-fi network but when abroad and using wi-fi I can only receive emails but my ipod touch won't send my messages.  I am not very techy but don't know how to resolve this problem.  Any advice?

    Hi
    I am having problems sending emails when using my ipod touch with wi-fi abroad.  When at home my ipod touch receives and I can send emails through my home wi-fi system but when away and logged into other wi-fi networkcan only receive emails and not send them.  Internet access is fine when abroad.
    I am assuming that this is to do with the outgoing server but this is only a guess!
    I am not very techy so any ideas how to resolve this problem would be gratefully received.
    Thanks
    KeithGH

    Seems like the other networks are blocking you from sending emails.
    Do yo have more that one email account on the iPod?
    Have you tried sending from another account?

    I have a 1st gen iPhone that I just updated the software to 2.0.2
    Now whenever I press the mail icon it goes to the mail app for about 4 seconds, does nothing, no loading of folders, old messages, nothing.
    Then it reverts back to the home screen. Tried restarting, haven't tried restoring, thought I'd look here first.
    Anyone???

  • My ipad and iPhone have different email addresses in the FaceTime field but I can only get FaceTime to work on my iPhone, how can I get them both working on facebook

    My ipad has a different email address than my iPhone, both are mine but I can only get FaceTime to work on my iPhone but seem unable to change the email address in that field

    If the basics (restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new) don't work, you'll need to bring the phone to Apple for evaluation

  • Changed email on idapple,restored iphone 5 but shows me the old email on icloud and i can't activate it!!!!

    hi, last week i change the e-mail on my idapple, yesterday night i restore my iphone 5 but i can`t activate it because the first time was actived whith the old icloud account! what i can do now ??

    Activation of iphone should not have anything to do with old apple id, unless you running ios7. If you are, you are smarter then me, figure it out and let us know.

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
    Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Problem sending email , I can only receive emails

    I can receive email but I can not send email messages. I keep on getting the following ; can not send mail the recipient - lists the email address - was rejected by the server. How do I fix this problem?

    Check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
    Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.

    Hello Joe,
    If you are having issues with getting mail on your iPhone, then go over the troubleshooting in the article below. If all the settings and passwords look good, then I would recommend removing the account and setting it back up.

  • My send and receive email works fine over wi-fi in the US but when I am in Europe I can only receive emails. My iPad tells me that the emails i have typed have been sent (the whooshing sound) yet they are never received. Anyone have any ideas please?

    In the US, my iPad 2 sends and recieves email over wi-fi without problems, yet when I am in Europe, I can receive emails over wi-fi without issue, yet the emails that I send (get the whooshing sound) never arrive.
    I have input a valid local smtp address yet that still get no results.
    Has anyone had the same issue and found a workable solution please?

    Who is your email provider?
    If you use an independent email provider (not tied to any specific ISP) such as GMail or iCloud, you'll have no problems sending email from any location or network, without having to change any outgoing SMTP servers to local ones.

  • Trying to set up email account ocountn the Iphone 4s but cannot get to POP ac

    How do I change setting for the Iphone 4s to a POP account?

    Is the exchange server run locally in the office or is it an outside provider?
    If outside, is it Exchange from Google services or someone else?
    Here's the way it works with Microsoft-hosted Exchange.
    Email address: [email protected]
    Server: m.outlook.com
    Domain: Not needed (will be needed for a local server)
    Username: [email protected]
    Password: *********
    Description: My Company Email
    Use SSL: On

  • Outgoing server is offline, but I can still receive email

    I have successfully set up Mail 3 in Leopard, but I have one problem. For whatever reason, I cannot send email. My account is online and I am able to receive messages without incident. However, it shows that my outgoing server is offline in my account information. I am using the same/correct outgoing server. Did I overlook something when setting up my account, or is this my ISP's problem?
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    Ok everyone, I got my .Mac Mail working finally. It seems that there are 2 outgoing server ports. The default port is 25, but some ISP servers might block that port, so the other one you use is 587. I switched mine from 25 to 587 and I'm online and working perfectly.

  • I can't receive email to my iCloud alias

    Hello,
    I have an iCloud alias and when I go into my iCloud account, the alias is there, but I can't receive email to that alias and when I send to that address, I receive an error message.  Also have received the message that the account isn't recognised.

    Hello.
    Thanks for the message.  The messages I were receiving said unrecognised email and server couldn't find the address.  But then suddenly it started receiving messages to the alias, but not sending.  I did try the link you suggested.  I finally ended by deleting the iCloud account and adding it back.  Now I seem to be able to send and receive, but only to and from the @icloud.com    The me.com alias doesn't send or receive mail, and I think it should as my main address works for both me.com and iCloud.com
    Any ideas on this?
    Anyway, the solution seemed to be to delete and re-add the iCloud account to Mail.  It doesn't allow me to edit the alias now and it did before in settings.  It now says just custom for the alias.

  • Can't receive email form outside accounts

    Hi everyone,
    I am trying to set up a mail server on [nuke dot mgh dot harvard dot edu].
    I can send emails anywhere, I can receive email from the accounts created on this server, but I can't receive anything from any outside account. I know there are other threads with a similar problem, but fixes described there didn't help so far. Any help will be appreciated.
    the postifx config is:
    nuke:~ MP$ postconf -n
    command_directory = /usr/sbin
    config_directory = /etc/postfix
    content_filter =
    daemon_directory = /usr/libexec/postfix
    debugpeerlevel = 2
    enableserveroptions = yes
    html_directory = no
    inet_interfaces = all
    localrecipientmaps = proxy:unix:passwd.byname $alias_maps
    luser_relay =
    mail_owner = postfix
    mailboxsizelimit = 0
    mailbox_transport = cyrus
    mailq_path = /usr/bin/mailq
    manpage_directory = /usr/share/man
    messagesizelimit = 52428800
    mydestination = $myhostname,localhost.$mydomain,localhost,nuke.mgh.harvard.edu
    mydomain_fallback = localhost
    mynetworks_style = host
    newaliases_path = /usr/bin/newaliases
    queue_directory = /private/var/spool/postfix
    readme_directory = /usr/share/doc/postfix
    sample_directory = /usr/share/doc/postfix/examples
    sendmail_path = /usr/sbin/sendmail
    setgid_group = postdrop
    smtpdpw_server_securityoptions = plain,login,cram-md5
    smtpdrecipientrestrictions = permitsasl_authenticated,permit_mynetworks,reject_unauthdestination,permit
    smtpdsasl_authenable = yes
    smtpdtls_keyfile =
    smtpduse_pwserver = yes
    unknownlocal_recipient_rejectcode = 550
    virtualmailboxdomains = hash:/etc/postfix/virtual_domains
    virtual_transport = lmtp:unix:/var/imap/socket/lmtp

    Do the following tests:
    1. From the server itself, open a Terminal window and issue:
    telnet localhost 25
    If you see your mail server responding, your are fine locally. (enter quit to exit).
    2. From a client machine in the same subnet as the server issue:
    telnet serverip 25
    If the mail server responds you know it's not the firewall on the server. If it doesn't then it's probably the OS X firewall.
    3. If needed, keep going "further" away and repeat above procedure until you know where port 25 is shut.
    Nuke is a subdomain, but what is an MX record? (if "what" is too long to explain, is there a simple instruction somewhere on how to create it?)
    An MX record is a DNS entry that tells the outside world, which server is responsible for handling mail for the domain/subdomain in question.
    If leaving the name untouched in the config was the only ingenious thing I've done today, I could call it a great day
    No to worry. Obfuscating domain names is pretty pointless anyway as they are public.
