These timezone definition changes are fairly common, when viewed world-wide.
For notifying Apple, contact the folks at the Apple Support Center or (if you have access) log a bug report. (The folks at Apple might or might not notice any postings made here.)
For the immediate case, updating the timezones yourself is straightforward; the sequence is basically the same on Linux, OS X, Unix and even OpenVMS. Ugly, but it works. (The US folks got to see this mess first-hand a few years ago, but there are other locations that see these sorts of timezone definition changes far more often.)
For those following along that aren't familiar with this sequence, this old posting should get you close when rebuilding your definitions, though the timezone database has moved to IANA.

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:

Numbers documents from iOS need Numbers 3.2 on a Mac to open. And Numbers 3.2 requires Mavericks. If you are using Mavericks you can get Numbers 3.2 from the Mac App Store. It will be free IF you have Numbers 2 (iWork '09) installed. Otherwise you must buy it.
Your other option is to send the Numbers file as an Excel file via e-mail to yourself to open with an earlier version of Numbers.

I have downloaded every update and my battery life is better than any previous iPhone I have ever owned. I see posts from hundreds of people every day, and this is not a commonly reported problem. Trying to get back into the swing of things post-Time Machine

So I recently had to wipe my MacBook Pro clean and reinstall everything (*****!)....
I'd done a back-up on Time Machine, and went to restore the files from the previously backed up session. Now, for some reason, Time Machine told me that there wasn't enough space on my laptop's hard drive to restore that session. So using the program Sync Two Folders, I was able to basically replicate everything that was in the back-up but not on the laptop (confusing yet?).
Only problem is, there are certain holes still:
1) I don't have anything in the cache of Firefox, meaning that all my bookmarks, passwords, etc. are gone. Isn't this supposed to be recovered in the case of a restore?
2) Certain applications I have seemingly need to be totally reinstalled and registered (Reason, Pro Tools). Is that normal, too?
Am I missing something here, or is this just part of the pain of having to erase and reinstall a hard drive, even if you DO have it all backed up?

What you missed is that applications are not just in Applications. There are application support files, preference files, hidden registration files, Unix files, etc. Syncing two folders only gets a part of the job done, hence why you use a backup - to restore the backup. But you can't restore the entire backup because you've already installed OS X which takes up a good part of the backup.
What should have been done was after installing OS X and going through the Setup Assistant you were offered an opportunity to restore your files from a TM backup. You should have taken that option.
Or you could have reinstalled OS X to find that the installer would have provided the option to restore the system from a TM backup..
Note that reinstalling OS X means you would have erased the hard drive first.
You may be able to get things back to near normal by doing things manually. See the following for information on what needs to be transferred:

From the Home folder copy the contents of Documents, Movies, Music, Pictures, and Sites.
In your /Home/Library/ folder:
/Home/Library/Application Support/AddressBook (copy the whole folder)

/Home /Library/Safari (copy the whole folder)

What is the BUG FIX for automatic image crop done to all imported Raw files on the 5DIII? I need to be able to get back to the original size image without doing it manually thousands of times using the plug in, that's a huge waste of time.

all you can recommend is an unsupported plug in that forces me to reset each image manually? Can't images be altered in a batched way, or all at once, back to original without having to do them manually one at a time?!!! Time to change software? What is the official line on this problem please?
