Is there a way of connecting the ipad to the smart board in the classroom, so that the smartboard is the control, and the ipad is displaying what is on the smartboard? This is to help a visually impaired child see what is on the smartboard.

    Absolutely!
Install Splashtop2 on the PC and enable it to be controlled or ran from iPad or Reflection to simply allow iPad to serve as PC unwired monitor. With Splashtop and an Apple TV connected, you use the smartboard as usual, yet the PC and iPad can see the same content. The impaired child can even interact with the Smart Board via the iPad as if he were writing directly on the big screen. Erasing functions can be done by touching the Smart Board manual controls. Several variables are in play that cause this lack of functionality:
Apple won't permit PC software that infringes its proprietary apps.
Smart Board companies refuse to develop iPad apps because they feel threatened and are being replaced by iPads
School districts think Apple TV is meant for copyright infringement and could expose them to safe harbor lawsuits
Network administrators make it impossible to login Apple TVs because they don't want the streaming occurring
Classrooms are not able to keep up with the technology of using the iPad
Clicker companies refuse to play with iPad because they see it as a potential threat to their core business clients
Apple is not working as hard as it could to exploit its capabilities in education, thus losing money in iPad sales
The bottom line is that we educators and technology developers are hurting our childern with petty conflicts.

  • HT4437 is there a way to connect my ipad with airplay to more than one airplay enabled speaker? at the moment it allows me to connect to only one?

is there a way to connect my ipad using airplay to more than one airplay enabled speaker?  when i tap the airplay icon on my ipad i see the list of all the speakers in each room but i can only connect to one at a time. Itunes, on my laptop, allows me to connec to all of them at the same time but Music on my ipad allows me to choose only one speaker at a time. Can several be connected at the same time using Music on Ipad or iphone?

That's great, but not what we want to do. I've been looking at all the boards for a solution to this and, you are correct. There isn't one - at least not one native to iOS. What I think EricB2 would like, as well as many of us, is the ability to take any audio stream (pandora, tune-in radio, etc.) and stream directly to multiple airplay devices from our iPads and iPhones without having to use the computer. Just walk into the house from the car, hit a button on the iDevice and start listening to the same stream we were listening to in the car on all of our home speakers. I know, this is like science fiction.  My own opinion is that it would cut into Apples lucrative iTunes business model and really isn't in their best interest, so I don't think it will be happening anytime soon. Bottom line is if you want to use your Apple devices for whole house streaming, you need a computer and music from iTunes($$). Otherwise it's $$ out of Apples pocket.

  • Is there any way to connect disabled iPad to network via external software?

    Hello,
My iPad is disabled because of a Bluetooth mishap (my keyboard in my coat pocket tried to enter my password too many times). So I can't enter my password on the screen. Unfortunately I didn't back up the last few weeks of documents in any way, via either iCloud or syncing. And I just can't erase all the work I've done--it's irreplaceable to me.
Is there any way to connect the iPad to a WiFi network through external software, maybe using the lightning connector?
I ask because in iCloud I marked the iPad as Lost (in Find My iPhone), so I may get another chance at entering my password if the iPad can get online to receive the signal. But because it's disabled it won't connect to a network.
    Many thanks for any help!

Not a big surprise unfortunately...  time to get an iPhone I guess!
    Thanks for the answer Sir!

  • Is there any way to connect an ipad to a ethernet  cord or connection with out using wi fi

Is there any way to connect an ipad to a ethernet  cord or connect with out using wi fi?  Thank  you

The closest you can come, without having a 3G iPad is to have a cellular mobile hotspot like the Mifi or such device, use that to get to wifi, or to tether it to a cell phone.

  • TS2634 Is there a way to connect my iPad to the dock on my stereo?

Is there a way to connect the iPad to a stereo system that has an iPod dock?

If there is an insert available for the iPod dock that allows the iPad to be inserted in the dock.I don't believe there is a cable available for this but try a Google or internet search.

  • Is there any way to connect an iPad to a BBerry via bluetooth?

I'm new to Apple "stuff" and have a bunch of PC and BB equipment (not for long though) so I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to connect the two worlds...  Can I connect an iPad 2 (WiFi only) to a BlackBerry via bluetooth?  It sees the phone but won't allow the connection...  Am I doing something wrong?

  • What is the best way to connect my ipad to the high-speed Internet connection in a hotel room

what is the best way to connect my ipad to the high speed inernet connection in a hotel room

every connection is a bit different. Generally, connect to the wifi, then you may need to open Safari, and may even need to try to get to one of your bookmarked pages to trigger the 'agree to our terms' page to come up.
As to it kicking you off every so often, there are sometimes glitches with the wifi on iPads, you can also be subject to any programming the hotel has. Like I've noticed various places that only allow you to log on for a period of time before having to relogin.
most hotels have 1-800 numbers, so you can always try calling that to see if their tech support has any tips for the frequent disconnection issue.

  • HT1665 Is there a way to connect a wired keyboard to Ipad2?  Via USB connector/adapter?

Is there a way to connect a wired keyboard to Ipad2?  Via USB adapter?

Actually there have been reports of certain USB keyboards working through the USB adapters like the Apple Camera Connection Kit .  But they are far from consistent.  The best bet is to find a simple keyboard without any bells or whistles as you want one that consumes the least amount of power.
But yes there some that do work through there.

  • Is there a way to connect the Apple TV as a second display without it automatically changing my Mac's audio output?

Is there a way to connect the Apple TV as a second display without it automatically changing my Mac's audio output? I would prefer to use an audio interface for playback and the apple tv as a third display. I know I can go back to system preferences and swap my output back manually, but it is getting to be really inconvienient. Thoughts?

  • Is there a way to connect an external speaker (for another room) through the headphone port

Is there a way to connect an external speaker (for another room) through the headphone port  & still hear sound through the internal speakers?  System Preferences/Sound/Output or Sound Effects allows you to use one or the other  --  headphones or internal speakers.  I would like to have the option of hearing music through the internal speakers in one room, & through an external speaker in another room at the same time.  I also do not want to frequently disconnect/reconnect the external speaker from/to the headphone port as I know over time the connection could become loose.  (10.7.4  Lion)

dont think so but I could be wrong
as it were I didn't like the build in audio so I connected some external logictech 2.1 speakers  but there
are times when I use headset so I bought this one
or any minijack splitter will work too so I have 2 things connected to the headset port works just fine
