I tried to erase my ipod from settings but when i try to reboot it, it always freezes with the apple logo. How can i fix this and it doesn't even appear in my itunes?

I wanted to erase my ipod so i went on settings, then general and then i erased my ipod
but when the apple logo comes up, it just freezes right there and i try to reboot it but it keeps freezing
so how can i fix this? please help

Try a Safe Boot by Restarting and holding down the Shift key between the startup tone and the Apple logo w/pinwheel. It will take longer to boot up in Safe mode. If successful, go to System Preferences > Startup Disk > select your OSx disk and restart.

Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to perform unauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. Uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer.
Edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from your hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. As has been pointed out, if there was a "previous owner", the phone is not "new". Thephone you purchased is most likely stolen. If whoever you bought it from won't give you your money back, turn it over to the police.

When starting up, you might see the Apple logo or a red or blue screen for a long time, or your device might restart again. Try these steps:
Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
Put your device in recovery mode.
When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.

When trying to back up my iPhone 4 I get this error message "ITunes cannot backup the iPhone because the backup is corrupt or not compatible with the iPhone." How can I fix this?

This has been happening to me for months now and it's started to annoy me. I have Windows 7 installed and have seriously tried everything to fix this, deleting old back ups, cheacking my firewall, unintalling and reinstalling itunes, deleting pictures that may be corrupt. I just plugged my phone into a USB connected to my sisters MacBook and it backed up perfectly! Is this something wrong with my computer?

Even if deleted all the backups shown in iTunes Preferences>Devices, check the actual backup folder on your computer to be sure there isn't one still there that needs to be deleted. You will find them at one of the following locations:
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Windows Vista/7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

I can't sort iTunes U lectures properly. I can sort them properly on my laptop in iTunes, but when I transfer them to my iPhone, they are all jumbled up. How can I fix this?

I'm using my iPhone for listenting to lectures on iTunes U. When I download lectures to my laptop, they are sometimes arranged non-sequentially. I can fix this by renaming the files (e.g., with numbers in the titles), and then sorting by title. However, when I transfer the audio lectures to my iPhone, they are all sorted by "release date" (and frequently the release date is the same for each lecture), and this screws up the ordering. This means that when I'm listening to the lectures, they are all out of order.
I can find no setting on the iPhone for changing the ordering of lectures in iTunes U, nor can I find a way of changing such things when the iPhone is plugged into my laptop. For example, when I connect the iPhone to the laptop, and open iTunes, I select the device (i.e., the iPhone), look at the lectures in iTunes U, and iTunes will not let me change the column that sorts the files.
Any suggestions about how to correct this problem?

You can sort your library by adding a Sorting info in the File Info. Select a file in iTunes U, press cmd + i, choose Sorting Tab. For example add a Sort Name. For each file you have to put a value into that field, I did it with 01, 02, 03 .. 12. I do not know if this works if you select multiple files, but I did not try.
The next time you sync your device, your files will be in order. It' ve tested it on an iPad2.
If you ask me, there must be a better solution for that problem as the files have a track number saved in the info as well, and it is quite annoying to add the sorting order manually.

I recently tried updating my iMac, now when I power up it keeps telling me to restart the computer. How can I fix this on my own?

I tride installing updates for my iMac, and now when I try to turn it on it just comes up with a small window that tells me to turn off, then back on the computer. Is there a way I can fix this on my own?

Do you have any backups of your system prior to do those updates? If so revert them out. Or reinstall the system from your recovery partition.
The reason for this is those updates clobbered a log of people:

So the only solution is to get them out of there and the only way to do that is revert your system.

My Iphone 5 crashed yesterday, when i try to reboot it it comes up with the apple symbol but then some kind of script runs down from the top of the screen, then after a while it turns off again. Also sometimes it just has a white screen with pink lines

I have also had the screen have two vertical white blocks on a black background. I have tried rebooting it and restoring it but it has not worked. I have managed to get it to turn on once briely but then it crashed again. I have had it since febuary and have recently ungraded to IOS7.

To import music into your iTunes library on the computer go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Add items to iTunes and follow the instructions
Delete the "songs" that do not play in your iTunes library and reimport them.

Try as much as you can. When it says to place in recovery mode use this program instead.

And it won't by design and intention since you are not syncing your iPhone with your iTunes library on your computer.
If you have authorized the computer with your iTunes account with iTunes, with your iPhone connected - at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.

Make sure you are setup to download to a permanent location, not into temporary files that get cleaned by the browser or by CCCleaner or something designed to clear out temporary files.

Tools > Options > Privacy > [x] Remember download history
Don't clear your download history automatically, but having a lot there whether they exist or not, can slow down Firefox at least it was an issue:
