Hope you can help. I can't stand it when companies want us to change our passwords. I like us to be able to keep our original password, I use different ones for different sites. The best sites give us a chance to retrieve our orignial password by setting up a chance to choosing a question of our choice and registering the answer, then when a problem they as the question and we give the answer and everything goes well. You are describing the way Skype accounts are set up since the beginning of Skype: No email verification is necessary. That's why we recommend new users to create their Skype accouns using Microsoft account instead which has all these security features.

    They've probably restored it by now and when that happens, any email accounts/mobileme accounts that were on it are not there anymore.

My problem is the new lap top won't accept my apple I D it asked me to sing up for a new one which I did.     Why would you not be able to use your existing Apple ID and iTunes account on a new laptop? If you authorized the computer - you should be able to use your existing account - unless you already had 5 computers authorized with the existing ID - and that was why iTunes would not accept the ID. However, I'm sure that you would have received a popup message from iTunes telling you that you had reached the limit.
    I just received a new MBP and my daughter did as well. My entire family shares an Apple ID and we had no issues at all with my Apple ID and iTunes on our new computers and I did not have to sign up for a new account. Did you even try the old ID?

    No, I'm the only one with access to my computer. I deleted all the unwanted songs and I hope they stay deleted. I found all my original songs in another folder. How they got there, I'll never know. It took a while, but I got all my songs back in the iTunes music library where they were before I got tangled up in this iTunes Match boondoggle. Apple has a ways to go before I'll mess with it again. By the way, you have to watch out for sisters.

    I already quoted the minimum requirements, look in the post before yours.
    You will have to upgrade your Mac to at least 10.7.5, upgrades are not free, you buy them from the App Store. Mountain Lion is the best but your Mac must be compatible.
    Here is a list of compatible machines.
    Also note that some older apps (Office 2004, Appleworks) will not run on Mountain Lion.

    I can't say why it should be doing this. If it persists then your only options are to set it up on another Mac or iOS device if you can (then you will be able to sign into it), or failing that to contact Support - though I don't know how helpful they are likely to be.

    I already have a functioning icloud account that syncs my information from my iphone to my PC.  I don't want to start a new account, but it seems that Apple is forcing me to open a new account to merely turn on a new function, which is my notes.  Any way to turn this on without having to sign up for a new account?  I have too many accounts already to keep up with. I don't need Apple forcing me into another one.  Any help is appreciated.

But when I try to turn on notes in my iPad's iCloud settings, iPad tells me I need a me.com email address, giving me only two c hoices: create or cancel ....
