Do you have any setting for MP3 in Tools > Options > Applications ?
You usually need the QuickTime plugin to play MP3 files on Windows because that is the only plugin that supports that file extension if there is no MIME type specified to play the file with another plugin like Windows Media Player or RealPlayer.

file and it is called by some third party software.
Try following steps to resolve your issue
Please perform a clean boot and see if the issue still persist.
Check the other contents in ScrC777.temp folder see if you could identify the software.(seems like some Security Software or Anti-Spyware)
Uninstall it and delete the temp folder see what happens.

When firefox trys to auto update, or I manually download the new version, or some but not all downloads off of the web, I get this error message. C:\Users\John\AppData\Local\Temp could not be saved, because you cannot change the contents of that folder.

First off, when firefox trys to auto update, it fails. It tells me to try and download the new version from mozilla's site. When I try to download the new version I get this: (C:\Users\John\AppData\Local\Temp could not be saved, because you cannot change the contents of that folder.)
This is the same message I have been getting when I try to download other things off the net. (When I use other browsers to download I dont have this problem)

after opening an email I knew to be a phishing attempt, I forwarded it to my bank's spam/phishing email address. I did NOT click any link in the suspicious email. only forwarded it.

I can think of only one reason a song would be "converted" while it is being loaded on a shuffle.
Select the iPod in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES. Over to the right, depending on iPod model, go to the Summary or Settings tab. There should be a setting there that says Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC (the 128 kbps part may be adjustable). If that checkbox is checked, try unchecking it.
NOTE: This setting may allow more songs to fit on the shuffle, but for any converted song, the sound quality will become inferior. So I don't use it.

I cannot open Firefox. I see "firefox" at the top of the window but no other tools. There is an error message that won't go away. I click okay but it just keeps coming back. The message is nonsensical - gibberish.

I've run every diagnostic and "fix" at my disposal and the problem continues. I only have one video project that I ever published to iDisk. It didn't have any music or photo files attatched to it, just a few clips stitched together. I can play these clips right now in the Event Library (so I know the source files are on my computer), but strangely, under the Project Library, the project is not there. I'm almost certain that I didn't store the project on iDisk; I just completed the video and published it to iDisk (as a .mov file I think) for family to see. I've tried to figure out how to get iDisk to stop looking for this project to no avail.
I don't know if others have experienced this, but if I click on any project and on the menu bar select Share --> Remove From --> Media Browser... it lists iPod, iPhone, iPad, tv, Computer and MobileMe. Why would MobileMe be an option here? This is the case for any video project I select. Didn't iLife '11 and/or OSX 10.8 remove all mention of MobileMe? I wonder if this is part of the problem too.
Edit: I just removed every project I have from the Media Browser. Still no luck.

itunes on my boys computer got corrupt. I believe it was when I tried updating. Anyhow, I have downloaded teh current itunes file from apple and when I install it a window comes up that says it can not find C;\users\owner\appdata\local\apple\applesoftwareupdate\itunes64.msi
I have done a search all over the computer and that file does not exist. I tried repairing itunes in control panel and it comes up with the same message. I tried deleting itunes in control panel and the same thing.
I tried deleting all files that contained itunes or apple in my compter because I thought there might be some hidden file that was saying there was an older version still installed and keeping if from installing right.
Any ideas how to get itunes back on this computer? It will not load.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get aCode 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
