I tunes wont play or update songs

my i tunes wont play or update my ipod with any of the songs that i have downloaded from i tunes. says im not authorised how do i change this thanks very much.

They play on my iphone and from the itunes library but not from my ipod touch.

If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.

Wont play some shared songs

Ipad2 wont play some shared songs, I have an album that i can play shared with all my other devices, but when i try to play this album on my ipad2 it skips over the fist 3 songs and starts playing on the 4th,
The first 3 songs play fine everywhere else

I am also experiencing this problem with my new iPod Touch, and I have followed the steps at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1510 to no avail. Does anyone have a recommendation that will fix this? I am beginning to believe it is a defect in the iPod software and that it needs to be addressed in a new release.

Music wont play after updating iPhone 4 to iOS 6.

After upgrdaing my iphone 4 software: my music library wont play any songs. It just skips all of them until it reaches the end of the list. I't seems that subscribing to iTunes Match will solve this problem but i dont want to pay for it. Is there any other solution that dosnt involve subscribing?

I'm having the exact same problem! Only some of my songs are on there. Like it will show that the song is there but the content is not. It keeps skipping until it finds a song that actually downloaded. I've restored my phone twice since upgrading to ios6 and nothing helps. I hate this update and wish I never did it.

New Shuffle wont play after downloading Songs from Rhapsody

I just bought the 2nd gen. shuffle and after loading songs from rhapsody, it show them on the IPOD list but the ipod wont play. It blinks green-orange-green- orange and then nothing. I tried reseting it. Any ideas?

That is from their website, even though countless posts on these forums have said their files are not compatible. So who knows. If I couldn't get my music from rhapsody on my iPod, I personally woudn't be too surprised, it's protected music, and it's not meant for iTunes it's meant for Real player. It looks like it depends on if your music was subscription or not. You might also read this.

I spent loads of money on songs from the itunes store today and the songs wont play the whole way through, any suggestions?

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

Itunes wont play the right song

When i select a song to play from my library i get a different song to the one selected. Usually the same 3 or 4 are played every time.
If i select a song from my purchased playlist that plays the selected song!!

I-tunes wont play songs

I open i-tunes, click on a song and nothing. Player will not start playing. I have to shut down and reboot to get i-tunes working again. Might be Ok for a few hours or a few days but then it happens again. Its always after Ive left the computer sitting for a few hours and then I come back. Works fine when its working, but occassionally takes a re-boot to get i-tunes to work again. Anyone have a cluye whats going on?

just started happening. everything else seems to be working fine, but if i click on a song it will not start to play. the timer on song remains at 0:00 and thats it. Music seems to work fine on ipod. any suggestions?

I somehow screwed up my I-Tunes and can no longer get I-Tunes to play all the songs on the album one after another. It stops playing after the first song. Thanks for any input - I am new at all this!

Somehow, in trying to reorganize my I-Tunes library, I screwed things up. I-tunes will no longer play an entire album w/o stopping after each song. Thanks for any help you can give - I am very new to this. -B

Have the tracks become unchecked? iTunes will skip unchecked tracks, so if they're all unchecked, iTunes will play one and then stop. If this is indeed the case, re-checkmark the tracks - command-click on any checkbox will select or unselect them all - and you should then have continuous playback. Hope this helps.

I-tunes wont automatically find any Song titles, or art work.

Not sure if anyone can help, but we have 2 i-tunes libary's on our computer. Mine works fine, the itunes libary, will import the CD, and find the song names and the art work all automatically on my libary, but when my husband then switches to his libary, the libary will not automatically find art work or song names. If he presses get song names it does then find them, but it still wont find artwork at all, we have checked the settings on both systems and it seems to be exactly the same? any ideas???

Is his library connected to the internet or the itunes store? And are you working on the same computer?

New computer, transfered music via external hard drive, library there but music wont play, message "The song " " could not be used because the original file could not be found. Tech did everything, said call Itunes support

New Computer
transfered Itunes library via clickfree backup. New computer Tech support(Premier PC) did this, Now can not play library within Itunes. Message says "The song " song name " could not be found. Would you like to locate it? Same Tech tried different things via on line support could not fix and said call itunes support and say Itunes will not play on new computer.

I was given the option to locate the file where the song is held. If so select "locate" and direct it to the folder / file where the song is and open it. itunes then will give you the option to use this process to update all of your library. OK that as this will do it automatically instead of doing them one by one. I hope this helps.

no music will play on ipod

Hey this has happened to me a couple of times to but
my works if you leave it alone for awhile ( maybe i
just hit it in the right spot). However before this
happened for 3 weeks or so my ipod would randomely
stop playing if it is on hold. i think this is
related to a malfunction in teh feature were if you
take out the headpohones it stops playing. Did your
wife experience similar problems?
Recently my ipod has a near inaudible volume. it's up
all the way, hte max volume is up all way, and when i
adjust max volume the volume comes back but as soon
as i exit out of the adjustment it becomes quiet
again.
My ipod is working now just from fiddlings and
leaving it alone (temperature effect it?)
If your wife experienced any similar problems let me
know so i can send it in before it progresses to be
worse.

No.. leaving it alone doesn't seem to help. It's really kind of weird, it's like everything works except playback via headphones. I can actually play songs that are store on the ipod when connected to iTunes (i.e., on my computer). Just that headphones don't seem to work.

Sound wont play after updating latest OS

Hi,
I just updated my OS to the 10.8.4 and now my sound will not play? Any suggestions?

Hopefully one of these steps should solve the problem.
1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers
    Highlight Internal Speakers / Headphones
    Make sure Mute is not enabled.
2. Remove the headphone.
    If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
    in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
    Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.
3. Reset PRAM. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4405
4. Reset SMC.     http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Choose the method for:
    "Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
5. Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup
    Audio Devices window
    Side Bar
    Click the Built-in Output.
    Under Mute any of the boxes checked? If so, uncheck it.
6. Reinstall Mountain Lion 10.8.4 Combo Update.
