There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them: -

KristyError 11 is a strange one...if you search the discussions for error 11 you will get a number of hits but none with a real resolution other than getting the iPod to restore, which you have done. And one person indicates this does not appear in the support data base...already found that out.
If you have restored, have a backup and can restore from that, you might try the update again, or wait for the next update whenever that comes out.

My ipod touch does not show up in my itunes source list, and shows up as a digital camera in "My Computer". Any ideas?
Start here. Is ti normal and expected for the computer to also see the iPod as a comera since that is how you get saved photos from the iPod to the computer.

My daughter forget her password and now her ipod touch is disabled. Red message says to connect to itunes. When I do connect to itunes, the device is not recognized and then a message comes on the screen that says it is locked and to enter the password to access it. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

i have the same problem. I tried to upgrade this morning to iOS 5.0.1 and now my ipod touch is completely frozen. All I get is a black screen with the Apple logo and an empty download bar. After updating iTunes to 10.2.1 my 4G Touch will not show up in Windows XP to charge or to sync. I have been reading this forum and following the multiple Apple help and troubleshooting steps with no luck. I can get Windows to recognize and charge the Touch as a camera but it will not update the driver for Apple Mobile Device. I have come to the conclusion it is an Apple software problem. Does anyone know where I can get the previous Apple Mobile Device driver for Windows XP? I would like to give that a try. It's really disappointing....
Upon uninstalling and re-installing all of the Apple software nothing has changed. I can see Apple Mobile Device Support in add/remove programs but when clicking on "repair" it cannot finish and says it encountered a fatal error and no changes have been made.
The error I get trying to install the driver in Device Manager says "I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request".
Does anyone have any suggestions? -

When I plug in my iTouch to the computer and open iTunes, the device does not show on iTunes. I tried restarting the computer and reconnect the usb drive, but it still does not show. The device is recognized on My Computer so I think something is wrong with iTunes.

I'm so confused. I've been all over the support site and I've uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes at least 3 times. My iPod just has the sign it has when it's turning on, but nothing else is happening. All I was trying to do was download the new software, and now it's completely crashed. Does anyone know why????
