Too bad you didn't have a complete backup that could run the previous OS X
and then you could resume using an earlier Final Cut Pro (10) or (7) since a
clone would have been a means toward that position.

This appears to be another good reason to check out all the reasons why one
would want or need to upgrade a working OS X version, since these kinds of
events are known to happen as a direct result.
Sorry to not have an answer to this, other than try & use the Trial version...

I used to have eight genius mixes and now I have four...I changed the genres around and nothing happened...I've added many more songs since it changed from 8 to 4 mixes...how can I get more again and why did it go from 8 to 4? I had the Hardcore mix and a rap mix and classic rock and grunge mixes...now I don't...I kinda want those back...the mixes I have now make no sense as most the songs on each do not correlate AT ALL to the genre mix they have been placed in. 1. Don't confuse "Apple ID" with iTunes Account ID. You can have many Apple IDs but only one iTunes account active at a time.
2. If you "changed" your iTunes account ID, you actually have 2 accounts - one under the old name plus the new name.
3. You can't merge the accounts - they remain separate. Apps purcahsed under the old account name will update ONLY WHEN THE PHONE IS SIGNED IN TO THE OLD ACCOUNT NAME and visa versa.
4. Likewise, you can sync only the apps, music, media purchased under the account the phone AND iTunes are signed in to. -

I just changed phones and data plans and was told that I would NOT a data usage alert again. I just got one. What's up with that?
Do you have Wifi at home? Do you do a lot of social media, internet surfing, video etc? Go to settings/data usage/ and scroll up to see what is consuming your data. You can restrict any of these apps from data usage by selecting one, then scrolling up and checking "restrict background data" for each app you wish to limit. Ones restricted will still function on wifi if available. Data can be restored to any app by unchecking a checked box. That's a start.
I keep my S5's data turned off unless I have a particula need when not near wifi. This month I'm near mid way through my billing period and have consumed around 29MB. Not as much fun for sure but much easier on the wallet. Caution, public wifi is likely not a secure connection.
You also can set alert and limit levels for data use by your phone on the Data Usage screen of your phone. -
i bought a printer with wireless capabilities, i have it recongnizing my router and it is loaded to my pc. how can i get the printer to recongnize my mac book and ipad. all my apple prouducts use my router.
While uselessSABOTAGE's advice is great, in case of future issues, it would helps us in the future if you would post accurate tech specs of your model iMac.
You info states you have an older IMac PowerMac, but is also says your OS X version is OS X 10.7.2.
This is not possible. OS X 10.7.2 Lion only runs on Intel CPU Macs.
Please, go up to the Apple symbol in the upper top left of OS X main menu bar. Click the symbol. Then click About this Mac. A popup window appears that gives some basic info. Then, click the More Info button and both post your iMacs complete specs by selecting/highlighting all of the info and copy paste this into a reply to this post, editing out your iMac's serial number. Then update the info you posted in your user profile with some of this new found data for future postings. -

Whin I try and long into the icloud, I get a message that my Apple ID is valid, but the it is not an icloud account, how can I make it one?

I am trying to transfer an etextbook that I have rented. In order to read the text offline, I "checked" the book out and Firefox placed somewhere on my computer. I need to find where it was downloaded in order to transfer to my Kindle. It is not in the downloads folder.
1. Sync wasn't intended to be used in that manner. You would be better off carrying around a USB Flash Stick with Portable Firefox for use on "strange" PC's.
2. You could open the "Library" {Ctrl + Shift + B} and highlight all those bookmarks and then delete them all at once. But that would also delete all the other bookmarks, and it isn't foolproof. All another person would need to do it to '''''restore''''' a bookmark backup file that has your bookmarks. Beyond that, a new Profile could be created and then the current Profile deleted; but that's "messing with" someone else's computer - an action that is worthy of terminating a friendship over, IMO.
And if that "public" computer was set up properly, Sync should have been disabled. -

I have several old albums where JPG's were apparently corrupted on an old striped RAID.
Aperture still shows the previews (quite large, thankfully) for these old images.
But when Aperture tries to refresh the preview, the previews mimic the corrupt masters. To stop the bleeding, so to speak, I renamed my Master directory so Aperture doesn't update previews for these corrupt JPGs. However, I'd really like to save these previews, even if not at full resolution. Some folders
How can I retrieve Aperture Previews and Thumbnails for these items?
My process so far:
1) Show package contents on Aperture Library.
2) Navigate to Previews
- some directories are here, some are missing
- for those that are here, back up elsewhere and mission accomplished
- for those that are missing, try to recover the thumbnails at least...
3) Navigate to Thumbnails
- Lots more directories here. Likely the ones I'm looking for. (but they have strange hash names, so it's hard to say)
- BUT, they only show large "AP.Thumbnails" files, no separate image file
The big answer I'm looking for... How to recover images missing from Preview directory and/or AP.Thumbnails files? (short of taking screenshots)It would be nice to know your Aperture and OS version, there have been changes over the years.

If you open the library in Aperture you can drag the preview images out of the browser and place them in a folder on your HD. If you cannot open the library then you will have to resort to going into the library package and rooting around. There was a big change with the library layout from Aperture 2 to 3 so knowing the version would really help here.

Thanks for the thought... ordered direct from Apple. I'm on AT&T, so I called them to work through their network. They said they couldn't help me until I cancelled my orders through Apple. Talked to an Apple store rep, and they said they had a customer that tried that - cancelled orders, then drove to store only to find they were not eligible for an upgrade. She called AT&T, and they had no solution, and said that sometimes it takes 48 to 72 hours for the system to reinstate upgrade eligibility.....I would have originally ordered from AT&T, but couldn't get into their website, so ordered through Apple - mistake.

It should have backed up automatically at the start of the update process. And you should be saving photos from your phone to your computer regularly, just like you would with any digital camera. If you were not doing this you MAY lose the photos, but if your backup at the start of the update was successful you will not. Just DO NOT sync after the update, until you have restore the backup and verified that it is OK.
What error message did you get during the update? Before you restore do the following:
Reboot your computer
Connect to a USB port on the computer directly, not a hub
disable your antivirus and firewall
Launch iTunes
Finally, connect the phone and restore.
