i upgraded iTunes to 10.5.1 and all my music disappeared after syncing.  How do I get it back?

I lost all my music, too - except for 3 pieces!? And I just upgraded, didn't choose sync'ing :-(((
Sure would like to get back my music, videos and playlists!
Most of it was my personal compositions/recordings, not bought at the iTunes store.

The most efficacious way to get your music and other personal data onto your new Mac is to restore it from the backup you made of your old computer. Once that is done you can re-enable iTM on the new Mac and your iPhone.

All my music is nearly gone how do i get it back

You can either use the back up you keep or re-download it from the iTunes Store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app (or video app) on your iOS device.

  • I lost all my music on my iphone how can i get it back on my phone

i payed for all this songs,i lost it through upgrade, how can i get it back to my phone

    joephilipose,
If the contacts are still in Address Book on your computer, but just not on the phone, you can tell iTunes to force replace the contacts on your phone with those from your computer. You can do this by going into the Info tab when your iPhone is connected, and checking the Contacts box under the Advanced section at the bottom of the page.
You may also want to backup your Address Book information as well. It's a good idea to make periodic backups of your contact and calendar information in case information accidentally gets deleted or changed. You can find out how to backup your Address Book data here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=AddressBook/4.0/en/ad961.html
To backup your iCal information, follow the steps in this article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iCal/3.0/en/9889.html
    Hope this helps,

  • Help! - I upgrade to itunes 6.0 and all my music disappeared

I've had itunes for I while and I had a fair amount of music on it. My computer has been asking my for a while if I wanted to upgrade to itunes 6.0 and I always said no, but recently I did it. Now all of my music is gone except for the last two songs I ordered from the online music store. Can I get my music back? Or how can I at least not do this again? I didn't read any warnings whatsoever. I assumed "update" the program features would be updated but all the music files would be retained.

First of all, this will occasionally happen after an upgrade. Your music is NOT gone, as iTunes does not store your music, your hard drive does. iTunes only holds the file paths in order to reference the songs by. Now, you will simply need to add them back over. Very simple, do this:
Click on File on the iTunes Task bar
Click Add Folder to library and add your iTunes folder back over.
It won't take but just a second.

  • I upgraded to 4.0 Firefox and my Norton's toolbar is gone - how do I get it back?

I need my Norton's toolbar back, please help me. I am type medical transcription from home and am constantly searching for medical terms, medicines, and procedures. I do not go on any website that is not rated from Norton's. How do I get the tool bar back? Thank you for your help.

Symantec need to update their Firefox add-ons so that they are compatible with Firefox 4. They have indicated that for Norton 360 they plan to release an update to Norton 360 to support Firefox 4 in early May - http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20100720113635EN&ln=en_US
I do not know about the time scale for updates for other Norton products. Pending the update by Symantec, if you want to use the Norton add-ons you will need to downgrade to Firefox 3.6.
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.
For details of how to find your profile folder see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles

  • My itouch was stolen and I had brought all my music on it. How do I get that back?

I had downloaded all my music from the istore on my itouch but it was stolen. I really want to get that music back. Why cant I access that music on another device with my apple id?

The music will only be where you put it.  If you failed to transfer it to your computer, and back it up, then it is gone.
UNLESS, you are in the U.S.  Then you can use the newly released beta version of icloud to retrieve them.
Open the itunes store and click Purchased under Quick Links.

  • My ipod all ready had songs on from somewhere (i can not get them back) but i syced my ipod to a different computer and all the songs were deleted ! how do i get them back ? its urgent !

    i have an ipod touch.
i had 300 odd songs on. i do not have the songs on my laptop. i wanted to add the songs without getting rid of the currnet ones.
without knowing , i just synced my ipod as usuall and my old songs were deleted. is there anyway in the world i could get those songs back ?!
i am devistated! those songs bought me so many memories ! please help asap !!! x
    hannah x

The iPod is not a storage device, all songs should reside on a computer and you can only sync to one machine. However, if these songs were purchased from iTunes you can reload them (see link). If not, and you have no backup, then they are gone.
