The iPad is looking for a 4 digit passcode that you used to lock the device. Did you set a 4 digit code when you set up your iPad? You need to enter that code in order to unlock it. If you don't know the code, you will have to restore the iPad in order to unlock it.

In order to download to your phone over the air, you need to be connected to WiFi.
It's possible the Internet connection through Verizon is not stable enough for the downlaod to begin (it is a very large download).
You might want to head over to Starbucks with your laptop for the afternoon and see if you can download it over their WiFi.

Currently, only Apple apps (Pages, Numbers, etc.) can back up
data to iCloud. There is no way to use it to just simply backup any files.
There are some workarounds to get some data stored.
PDFs and any other document that can be read by Preview
can be backed up in iCloud. Load the document into Preview,
select Export..., click on the directory dropdown, then select
iCloud as destination. Not a drag and drop solution or an
all encompassing method, but you can get some stuff saved.

Thanks for your reply. Although I haven't tried yet, I think I will be able to use the photos on my phone, which have been paired, to find the dups in iPhoto and delete them there. Previously it was very difficult to search for and find the duplicates on the computer. Now I should be able to use the paired photos on the iPhone to find and delete the dups on the computer. Then I will sync the phone again. I think that should work; I hope you agree.

The "Livestream" address is Preston Trail Community Church. We can watch this on the I-phone so why not be able to stream to our appletv?

The Apple TV cannot receive live streams such as that.
However if the website or app you are watching it from is enabled then you can stream it to your Apple TV via airplay. If you have the iPhone 4S you could also use mirroring.

Edit > Preferences. Select the check box for Ringtones, this will add them to the listing in iTunes.

You can't. This is a security feature to prevent the resale of stolen iOS devices. You need to contact the seller and have him/her remove it from their iCloud account. Or return and get your money back. See: Find My iPhone Activation Lock - Apple Support

If you go to System Preferences (under the Apple menu) and select the Network pane, then select the interface you want to use (probably Wi-Fi or AirPort if you are wireless, or Ethernet if not.) If using a static IP address you can set your router address here. If you are using DHCP, it is not needed, since the computer will pick it up automatically.

From the US but in France these days trying to figure out how to get case

I have an iPhone 4, and I got the email about being eligible for the case. I am from the US, and I am now in France for a bit for work. I am trying to figure out how I could get my case shipped to me here instead of back home, since I will not be back there until December at the earliest. I downloaded the app and it will ship to my US address by default, and I am not interested in changing that because I want to still be part of the US zone.
If someone from Apple could help and tell me what to do it would be great. I could not find the right department that could have answered this question when I looked on the support page.

I'm frustrated with the bookmarks. I so long to be able to right click on any bookmark and choose to have them in alphabet order. Would also like for the little icons to go away. Never been able to figure out how to do this the MAC way. Help.

After the release of Firefox 29, several people noticed that after using the Customize feature, most items on the right-click menu for the Bookmarks menu on the menu bar became ''grayed out'' and unusable until you closed and started Firefox back up again. That seems to still be a problem for me in Firefox 36.0.4, so if you used Customize, that could be the explanation.
You still should be able to click and drag bookmarks around the menu even with the broken right-click context menu.
And if it's easier than restarting, the context menu still works in the Bookmarks Sidebar (Ctrl+b to open/close) and Library dialog (Ctrl+Shift+b or "Show All Bookmarks").

I'm trying to connect a Sony wireless keyboard and can't figure out how to get the iPad 2 to discover it. Has anyone had any luck using a non-Apple wireless keyboard and mouse?

Apple tech so far hasn't helped except to advise me to get manuals online that Sony doesn't post on its website. I've sent off an inquiry to Sony but don't expect an answer. Apple assumes my devices are bluetooth but the iPad2 hasn't figured out how to discover them, and I don't know how to make them discoverable. I'd like to have the option to use them but so far haven't been able to figure out how.

On the iPad, go to Settings-General-Bluetooth. Set Bluetooth to ON and a new window appears while the iPad searches for Bluetooth devices.
To get the keyboard into a discoverable mode, you may need to remove its batteries for a while. If it is not possible to get it to appear on the iPad, could the keyboard be defective? Can it be discovered by other computers?
