I use CS6 and when I try to open a ai file from later version I'm told i must select a page from the PDF to open?

I am following tutorials in Adobe Illustrator CC Classroom in a Book, but I use CS6. How can I open the lesson files to display correctly?

I'm having further problems when I open these CC ai lesson files.
All the swatches disappear.
I had not realized there would be such compatibility issues between CS6 and CC.
Yes I am warned when opening files craeted with later versions that there might be some "data loss" but this seems beyond reasonable?

Hi,
I would guess this is an AIM valid Screen Name such as an Apple issued @mac.com account.
I would also guess you travel to other countries.
There have been several posts about @mac.com names and people who travel and use their Screen Name elsewhere having the name Suspended.
Can you Log in here https://settings.aim.com/ ?
Is this where you saw the Suspended message ?
For AIM issued name the answer is to change your Password as this tends to prove you own the account.
This does not work for Apple IDs used as AIM Valid Screen Names as AIM can't tell when the password is changed (They can only see it when you log in)
AIM's Suspended Account page has an email ([email protected]) on it to contact if your account remains Suspended.
However you need to be very clear that you have an Apple Issued Name and that you know that resetting the password that works for AIM Names and that you would like them to reset the account.
More recently this has been a sticking point. It seems the Contact you get does not always know about the agreement that AIM recognises Apple Issued IDs as Valid Screen Names and that the AIM servers can only view the passwords at specific times (or at least confirm them) so you changing it will make no difference and that they have to step in manually.

What does the error say?
A couple of thoughts: the file is corrupted or is password-protected. Corruption is more likely to cause Numbers to crash & Numbers cannot open password-protected Excel files. Try using one of the free Office clones & see what happens.

I know where the audio files are located (using GET INFO while in iTunes), and when I try to add certain audio files, some are accepted and some are not. In one case, when I opened a particular folder, the song was not listed, even tho' the song is there when using Windows Explorer. This happens with mp3 and mp4 and just wav files. Some audio are accepted, most are not. I get that codec is not installed error message, too.

I am using CS6 and when I go to save an image for Web the image does not retain its quality. The first week I did this it worked just fine and now the images save very pixely.

Change None to Art optimized then click apply(alteast in CS5 there was an apply, believe they removed that in CS6 as so many people missed that part).

There's a good chance the file is corrupt. As whomever sent it to you to verify it opens on their end.

even when you are dowloading free app Apple needs to check that you have valid billing details but you will not be billed for downloading of free apps. Go to settings/itunes & app store tap on ID there log in and check acocunt details there

If you still have the 'pointers' to them in the Music part of your iTunes library (i.e. where you would click on them to play them) then iTunes will assume that you still have them and will show them as downloaded in the Purchased link under Quick Links on the iTunes store home page - if you try deleting one of them then it should get the cloud symbol for re-downloading, and you can do the same for the others.

I do not use lightroom and I have a subscription so I can open all supported RAW formats. You will need DNG file for Your Camera's NEF files for use in Photoshop ACR version. You can open your NEF files in LR it seems so you could do all your raw conversion with Lightroom and save out Tiff files for processing in Photoshop. I do use lightroom for I do not need its library. Lightroom does not support layered files so lightroom is of no value to me. ACR UI is all I need having a second interface to Adobe Raw Conversion Engine would more annoyance than value to me.

Using Excel 2004 on a Mac running 10.6.8 and when I try to send an Excel file no one can open, Help?

When I try to send an Excel2004 file no one can open. I save as Excel workbook. I am using a Mac running 10.6.8. I am the chair of a committee and need to save people open the attachment. Please help One person stated that the file came through as a dat. What is a dat file?

I figgered it out. The resolution of the screen was set at 600x800, so the bookmarks dropdown menu took up more space than usual. The pop out folder contents didn't have enough room to pop out. With a resolution for a slightly smaller display the drop down bookmarks menu functions perfectly.

Firefox 4 locks up a lot when I visit Amazon. I can't use it and when I try to close it, it crashes.

A lot of the times when I visit Amazon FF 4 locks up on me to the point that I can't use it. The only option to get out of it being locked up is to right click, then select "close" at which point a dialogue pops up saying that the program has stopped responding and to either wait or force it to close. Waiting does not work so I have to force it closed.
When I restart FF it will at least give the option to recover the session but then it usually locks up again if I let it reopen the same Amazon page.
This problem doesn't occur every time I visit Amazon but quite often. I think it locks up on me probably 60 percent of the time I visit Amazon.

I have this same exact problem and for some reason it appears to be limited to Amazon. I have yet to hit another site that causes Firefox to freeze, but 80%+ of the times that I go to Amazon, Firefox freezes and I have to take the steps above that alvester states to close and restore (but I cannot restore with Amazon or it locks up again).
As it doesn't occur every single time, disabling my extensions hasn't proven anything to this point. I disable them and it works, but then when I enable them again, it works.... Until some future time when I go to Amazon and it hangs all over again.

I am using CS6 and when I use the pen tool, it deletes the inside image not the outside image

I have been using photoshop cs5 and cs6 for a while but I have never encountered this problem. Whenever I use the pen tool to trace an object and I close the traced object, it deletes the object i traced and not the background. It is really anoying and I cant change it. I have spentt a fair amount of time trying to change it but i dont know how. Can someone please help I have also looked online but there is nothin to help.

It's probably the path operations setting.
The default setting in photoshop cs6 is Exclude Overlapping Shapes and you could also use Combine Shapes.
