Seems like 90% of the time I'm getting the website not responding error message however everything I select refresh it will bring up the site why

If you don't want recents in your App Switcher screen:
Settings => Mail, Contact, and Calendars => Scroll down to Contacts => Show in App Switcher => Turn off Recents and Favorites too if you don't want them in the App Switcher.

I have nearly exhausted every possible solution to the problem as seen from the support page for this error message. Maybe I'm an idiot - this does seem a very simple issue. I can right click on the tab bar and check things like Navigation Bar, or Add-on bar and they all work fine - but the menu bar is stuck on the top of the screen and appears when I role over it. Recently I receive errors from Firefox at sites that were working fine before, always the same: a script is not responding, and I can wait, debug or stop. Waiting doesn't help (therefore pointless to change the 'dom.max_script_run_time' setting in the config); and also pointless to debug because the problem is not with the script. "Stop" eventually gets firefox to work, until the next error message which comes very soon.
I tried to reinstall both Firefox and Flashplayer, even manually wiped the traces from the user profile and program files. They are the latest 35.0.1 and 16.0.0.305 available now.
=> In the meantime, there are reproducing instances of flash players are spawned and running. They stay running even after firefox is closed or terminated.
=> if I disable the flash player plugin everything's fine except of course flash is not working. If I re-enable it, the problem starts over.
OS is Windows 8.1

I inadvertedly changed a setting where the top of my screen no longer shows the apple logo in the top left or the clock and wifi status and strength on the top of the screen, how can I get it to show both of these things again like it used to?

I inadvertedly must have changed a setting where the apple logo and files and things that used to be in the top left corner of the screen are no longer there as the clock and wifi status and other installed settings used to show up in the top right hand corner of my screen. When I move my mouse to the very top of the screen they drop down but when I move my arrow away from the very top of the screen they both disappear again. So I was wondering how can I get it to revert back to the way it used to be? I hope this isnt confusing.

I tried the zoom thing but it still didnt resolve my issue Im gonna try to clarify my issue a little bit more, before the change, my screen when I would surf the web would have the apple logo and safari and file and edit and view buttons at the top left hand of the screen and the upper right hand screen would have the time and the wifi strength and my name and the spotlight box and a volume control but now they dont show while Im browsing the web unless I take my arrow and move it to the very top of the screen then those boxes will drop down like it used to be but when I take my arrow and move it from the top of the screen it disappears again and ll I get is a back and forward arrow and the url input bar. Using foxfire I get a lot of not responding error messages

Whenever you are surfing the net foxfire unexpectedly freezes on you. You get a not responding message.

Yes, I know about that article. I know how to handle the untrusted connection in normal circumstances. I know it has something to do with being behind a proxy. (I have no problems hitting the same sites from my home PC.) My question is how to handle it when the "I understand the risks" option isn't presented and I thus can't add an exception and continue on to the site.

I am not sure where to post this. But after trying everything from this site I came to my own fix.
This stopped the failure to close problem in Firefox [please pardon my lack of computer terms]
#1 Uninstalled Firefox and re-installed it and it still didn't restart correctly
#2 Start menu [ %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ ] and deleted all firefox files
#3 Uninstalled Firefox and re-installed again
#4 Start menu [firefox.exe -p ] and deleted profile info and created a new profile
#5 Open Firefox Right clicked for Menu Bar
#6 select Tools
First off I did change my start page and I unchecked all Tab buttons [i don't like tabs]
#7 Privacy Tab
check-- [Tell sites I do no want to be tracked] [may be optional]
check-- [Never Remember History] ******** and firefox restarted
Location Bar-- check-- or select-- [ Nothing ] [may be optional]
then clicked ok
Then I again tried my old setting of [use custom settings for history ]
When I changed the [Never Remember History] to [use custom settings for history] and restarted firefox.
I attempted to try this and all the restart problems popped up again
Please note
This could not be Undone. Attempting to change from [use custom settings for history] back to [Never Remember History] would not correct the hang problem, so I had to start all over from the beginning. And that did work.
I did loose my Bookmarks in the reset but I will live with it!
I have restarted 20 times without a failure where it was two or three times. so it seems to work now.
Sorry about my poor message abilities above. As I get older my attention to detail seems to be falling a bit.
To cap what this is about.
I started into checking the [options] page and with every page I altered I clicked yes and closed. Then checked for a response in Firefox.
Everything worked fine until I got to the Privacy Tab.
Again I am sorry about my crappy writing.
Perhaps you smart folks can figure a way to fix this without loss of data.

Keep getting "not responding" error message as DW hangs

I have had the following problem consistently used DW 12.1, as well as the version that was with CS 5.5. And I am almost sure it has something to do with the html or other code on my pages, but I thought a DW guru might help.
Basics First: DW 12.1 with the subscription. 64 bit Window 7.
Files that I am editing will periodically freeze, and then I get the "not responding" message above the menu bar. It freezes for 10 to 30 seconds (IT FEELS LIKE 10 TO 30 HOURS) and then starts working again.
Of course it only seems to happen when I'm on a roll making many duplicate mundane edits and then BOOM... can't do anything except shoot laser eye daggers at the screen and try to prevent myself from hyperventilating.
Here's the thing. I work on many sites; and this generally only happens on the site of my main client. I work off o local copies of the site, but I inherited them and they are massively full of bloat code, scripts, etc. I would not be surprised in the least if DW is trying to run or access some of this and this is the cause.
I turned off the "Display external files" option; are there other options I should try? It really is the absolute most annoying thing in my life right now (we should all be so lucky) and I'm hoping you might have a way to fix it.
I'd be happy to post code, but this page is a typical example where I might get the error 10 times in a 30 minutes while working on it...
