I've added to ios6 to my new ipod touch with no problems. I'm trying to now restore the factory settings but the screen is frozen with an itunes sign and lead pointing towards it. The ipod won't even switch off. Can anyone help as it's driving me crazy
I've added ios6 to my new ipod but tried then to restore the factory settings. It won't extract any settings and the itunes then tells me that the server cannot be reached or is unavailable. I've been trying all day. Now the ipod has a itunes sign and a computer lead pointing towards it on the screen and this is frozen. It won't switch off or do anything else. Any ideas as this is now driving me crazy.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

The iOS5 erased all my apps. Went to get them back and only part of it was recognized by Apple store. The others the store prompts to pay. I tried to go back to the old system and restore but as it was in sync an error ocurred and now I don´t have even the operating system. It won´t rebbot. Any chance somenone ran into the same problem that could help?The only people who can possibly assist you with this is Apple Customer Relations, call your local Apple contact number and ask for Customer Relations then explain your situation clearly and politely (be firm but don't rant).
You might want to investiage what the local laws are regarding defective goods and 'fit for use' definitions on warranties etc. Consumer Protection can be a useful tool to use or bargain with if needed ... -

You might have better luck go to the developer's website since it appears to be a problem with the app not with the iPod. Also, the developer would know about updates.

Hello, I have an ipod touch 4. It is frozen, I have reset it and restored it several times. it has the current software loaded. I have restored it back to factory/new settings and it still wont let me access it. It is on and working etc, yet screen is frozen.
If the restore was successful (completed all steps without errs) then you have a hardware problem. An appointment at the genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Hi, needing advice, my phone today has contacts and photos from nearly a year ago that were deleted. I have not connected to itunes lately and icloud backup is switched off.. Its only annoying as some of my family have changed there phone numbers and now i cannot tell which is the correct number as there are now multiples. Any help would be great. Thanks
Have you recently added your Facebook credentials? If you haven't synced with your PC recently, this is likely the reason.

So my daughter set a password to lock her ipod touch and now she can't remember it. I tried to restore to factory settings but it is still asking for a password. I tried 0000 and that didn't work Any ideas what to do?

Third-party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue. To resolve this, follow Troubleshooting security software issues.
Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to perform unauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. First you must uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer, then edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from the hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. Thanks for the response. There is no cloud icon next to them. All of the songs play on the phone still and no song was purchased through iTunes. I added them manually and tried to remove them manually. According to my iTunes they've been removed but they are still on my phone and working.

I was given an iPhone 4 from a friend and I was trying to reset it to factory settings but it won't let me. It's keeps popping up with a box to put in my friends iCloud account password in but I don't know it. How can i delete their iCloud account without knowing their password?
You cannot delete the iCloud account that is signed on to Find My iPhone unless you know the password. This is called the Activation Lock:
ACTIVATION LOCK
It is an anti-theft security measure that is a part of iOS 7. You can only get around this by following the steps in this support article:
Find My iPhone Activation Lock: Removing a device from a previous owner’s account
Contact your friend. This is the only way around the lock.

I have an iPhone 4S running software 5.1 (9B179) and cannot sync the photos in PhotoStream with iPhoto '11 v 9.2.1 (628). There's no option to update iPhoto and no option of PhotoStream (which is enabled on my phone). Can anyone help?

The "link related" and "text related" crashes were what I interpretted here, too, though I'm at a loss on how to proceed given that this is a fresh system and applications. This is happening with multiple InDesign projects in a design office environment where many others work on the same files and none of the other computers are having problems with these files. I've removed the same files listed (thank you for those) before and did so effectively with creating the new user account to test with, but it had no effect. I just tried again though, as these files could easily have becone corrupt again if they were being written to when InDesign crashed. Will let you know if that makes any difference. I've also gone through and completely cleaned out the fonts again and once more cleared the font caches. If need be I'll reboot this system into safe mode and try that way.

iphone 4: Home Button Not Working. The home button only works when it is connected to iTunes, once i disconnet it does not work, i have tried a restore to factory settings but it still is not working. Any suggestions?
Apple, as I said, does not repair your iPhone. All hardware service issues are handled by replacing the unit. So they can't handle the home-button issue without also addressing the issue of the cracked screen, for which they'll almost certainly charge you. But you can make an appointment at an Apple Store or call Apple tech support and plead your case.

Check you are logged into your store account properly (settings > store). Also check there are no restrictions set that might be causing this (settings > general > restrictions) -
