Yes. You can either set up your new iPad from a back-up of your old iPad, or you can select any apps bought via iTunes to be installed into the new iPad. If you go with the restore, everything like levels and the like on games is restored too. If you install fresh, then some things don't come over, even though you've loaded the apps.
anyway, it's not something to worry about.

I am currently in the midst of a divorce, which is typically nasty but even nastier when you've mistakenly married satan. My soon to be ex is very tech savy (he can write his own programs). I am not. I have noticed when the family computers are on in the office they are connecting to my Macbook pro. I can see this through the finder and the computers show up as shared. I recently bought my macbook pro (within the last two months, he filed for divorce last year).
How do I prevent him from linking up to my computer and how do I password protect my files? If he is accessing my computer than he can see everything I am sending to my lawyer. This helped me close some files up, you need to make sure that you use a password he is not going to guess and that you don't store that password in the OS X keychain system.
This is what I would do if this where me though...
Buy and external HDD (all doucuments will be encrypted onto this drive, and the drive removed and taken away where ever I go.)
I would rebuild the Mac OS X to new like state, backing up only important items to the external HDD(wouldn't even bother with the software on it maybe only pages or Ms office)
Create a new user account and if you have an apple ID change the password of the ID again to somthing he is not going to guess.
Also make sure you are off the network he is on get your own broadband/network setup if you must.

Intel Iris Graphics
Built-in battery (9 hours)
I need to use this mainly to edit RAW images as I'm a photographer and will be using this whilst onsite during a photoshoot. I have been advised that due to the graphics card, when using software like Photoshop, the laptop might slow down as it won't be able to handle the large files.
The only one that has a good graphics card is the MacBook Pro 15-inch: 2.5GHz with Retina display - with the following specs.
2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i7
Turbo Boost up to 3.7GHz
16GB 1600MHz memory
512GB PCIe-based flash storage
Intel Iris Pro Graphics
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M with 2GB
My issue with this model is the size and most of all the price. it costs 1000 more than the 13". Have any of you had the chance to use photoshop on the 13" version and how did you find it?

No. Macs cannot run a system that is older than the hardware. You can however pick up a copy of Snow Leopard Server and run it in a virtual machine using Parallels.

I tried upgrading to leopard, even bought the software and brought it home but it wouldn't let me. So i went back to apple, gave them the specifications of the machine and been told my machine is simply too old for leopard. This is incredible to me because it really isn't THAT old (i think just a little over 6 years maybe) and yet i'm left out on the curb when it comes to using newer apple products. I understand technology moves on but the mindset that i am supposed to dump a perfectly working machine after a couple of years or face not being able to use any other apple product is counter to what thought apple was about. -

basically do the prices stay the same and my budget is around the £1.1k mark so im looking at the 13inch 2.8ghz version.
will they release new versions this year and if so do prices usually rise etc?

thanksThe MBPs have maintained a price structure for a couple years, with changes occuring at intervals within those prices. That means, the high end 15" has gone through three processor upgrades since last summer and one secondary graphic processor. If you look at the 13" that is at your price point today, more than likely by next summer it will have a faster processor at that same price. And the current processor may no longer be available.
So if you have a fixed amount of money to spend, consider holding off until it is closer to the time you will be going to the university as you will be able to buy more computing power for the money.
No one knows exactly what changes there will be, just the history of these things gives clues as to what will happen qualitatively. -
