I am not able to update my free apps on iphone and ipad, apps like instagram, the weather channel and Farmville2 arent updating. I've been asked credit card info and charged 1$. Why? Can someone please help me out. I have tried logging off and logging in again however, its of no use. Apple hasnt even posted a message in regards to this.

Also I have funds in my account, so that shouldn't be a problem. I was trying to download a free app. It was working this morning. Frustrated doesn't cover it.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

HT1351 Why do my custom playlists created in my iPod disappear when I sync? They used to sync when they were called on-the-go.

Custom playlists created in the iPod used to be called 'on-the-go' and would sync to your PC. Each time you created a new one it would be called on-the-go1, on-the-go2, etc. Sometime ago there was a software update that allowed you to name them in the iPod, only now they don't sync to the PC. They simply disappear. It's as if there is only a one-way sync, from the PC to the iPod because if I create one on in the PC, it will sync to the iPod. Is there a setting that will allow 2-way syncing? I can't find one. This used to work.

What version of iOS are you running on your iPod Touch currently? I assume you have your iPod set up to automatically sync with your iTunes library?

Thank you. I put it in airplane mode like you suggested, but it looks to me like all the applications and ads are still running. Anyway, I'm just gonna play when I'm really really bored and use them as less as possible. Thank you again for your quick answer.

If you use the same Apple ID on both devices, you can share apps, but you won't share the progress I'm afraid.

Not sure if this is an iCloud issue. If it is, the instructions to fix that are below. But wanted to make sure about something first:
When you say your changed your user name on your Apple ID, you mean you went into your Apple ID and clicked on Edit to change it, right? You didn't create a brand new Apple ID, did you? If you did create a brand new Apple ID, then post back and I will let you know what you need to do. If, you just changed it, then follow the instructions below.
You are going to need to follow the instructions below to get your iCloud account updated with your new Apple ID:
1.     Log into Manage your Apple ID, and change your Apple ID back to the old one that is still showing on iCloud (this is temporary - you do not need to verify it). Once you have changed it, simply save - do not verify the old email address.
2.     Go into Settings>iCloud on your device and scroll down to the bottom to delete the iCloud account. When it asks for a password, type in your current Apple ID password.
3.     Go back into Manage your Apple ID and change your Apple ID back to the new one.
4.     Go back into Settings>iCloud on your device and sign onto iCloud with your new Apple ID.
5.     Also make sure you have signed out the old ID in Settings>iTunes&App Store. If you have not, sign out that old ID and sign in with the new one.
That should resolve your issue!

I had some charges put on the Best Buy $50 Itunes gift card that I reported on Dec 23rd, 2011. So I was refunded $40 and they banned my only credit card that I have from any transaction thru the Itunes Store, which I was not informed of, even though the unauthorized charges were on a gift card issued to me from Best Buy? So from that point on I was never able to download any APPS to my iphone I purchased in May 2012 which I didn't figure out until I tried to download APPS! I don't know why they want credit card info for downloading a free app on my iphone?

If I dispute charges with my card issuer, it gets processed as fraud. I myself would ask for a new card to protect myself from more unwanted/unauthorized purchases.
I would assume that since you disputed iTunes/Apple charges with your card issuer, Apple was made aware that fraud was on your account & to protect YOU they disallowed the card & your account (until you called in to get it reinstated).
In MY opinion, Apple did you a favor. If you report purchases to your card issuer- why would you keep the same card? Why not protect yourself & get a new card.
Since your current card isn't allowed- get a new card or use iTunes gift cards.
If it is a poor policy to protect you… thats sad..
Try putting restrictions on your devices and inadvertent purchases won’t happen. :]
