The best way to get the songs in the order that you want is to make a playlist and then sync it over. Once the playlist is set, all you have to do is set to sync playlist in the music tab.

The problem of having 2 'Podcast' folders / menu items after adding a new podcast through clicking on a link in the browser has been addressed on the forums by instructing users to resubscribe to existing podcasts, which then appear in the new folder, and delete the old folder. This will not work for me as most of the podcasts I listen to are BBC, which vanish from the web 7 days after they were first broadcast (about which much swearing, but that's unalterable). Consequently I can't adopt this solution.
I have resubscribed to the podcasts using the link in a browser method, so that they all appear and (in theory) will download new episodes again. However, this leaves the old episodes missing. What must I do to get the episodes downloaded from the old podcasts recognised as belonging to the new subscriptions?

I found a very fast and easy solution: I selected all the podcasts in the first window, copied them using the command in the Menu>Edit (Command+C did not seem to work). I then pasted them into the new empty folder. All the podcasts already downloaded appeared. The only problem is that some podcasts did not remember which had been viewed or not, while did keep the information. I just had to re-subscribe to the ones I still wanted by clicking on button.
For some reason, the previous Podcasts folder was only recogized as a list by iTunes, this showed up when I deleted the previous folder (contextual menu). I also had to re-select which ones I wanted synced with my iPad and iPhone.
(I did make a backup of the Podcasts folder in the Finder, just in case, a bit like voodoo computing)

I had tried that several times with no luck. Late last night I was finally able to get through to the Verizon technical support who then called in Apple technical support. It took 1 1/2 hours for them to figure it out and guide me through a fix. So here's the deal .......... I use Yahoo mail and had left the "contacts" button in the on position. Apparently Yahoo likes to go into your contacts and gather information and can leave it in shambles. My advice is, go to settings, then mail, contacts, calendars. Select any and all of your email accounts and go in and turn off their access to your information. Leave it on for Icloud but none of the others.

If your phone is jailbroken, we can't help you, as already stated.
If you're new to this and you're trying to download apps to put on your phone and it is NOT jailbroken, you can't do that.
You must go through the iTunes app store.

If the Photos are under 'Last Import' or 'Last N Months' then they are in the Library somewhere, just not where you are expecting them to be. We know this as both Last Import and 'Last N Months' are not places, just listings of elements in the the Library.
The two most common reasons that they can't be found is either an incorrect date on the camera or the Sorting (View Menu -> Sort Photos - or Sort Events, as appropriate) has changed.
Quick route to find them: Right-click on one of the images in Last Import and select 'Show Event'. This will bring you to the image in the Library.

Wish I did. I tried the group function but that didn't help in iTunes. The search function is the best I came up with. I can answer the question do you have susch and such artist. But I can't browse for an artist I don't remember exactly or have misspelled. Fortunately I don't think I've bought anything from iTunes that i already had. First it would be helpful to get more info. Do you keep your music in the default location inside the iTunes folder? Do you use iTunes to keep it organized? Do you have any type of backup of either the iTunes Library files or your entire Music folder? Before reinstalling anything, check that your actual music files are still there. Go to your_homefolder/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music and I am pretty sure that all your files are still there. iTunes keeps its library file on the root level of the iTunes folder. It is either corrupted or you somehow created a new one which subsequently is empty. Hold down the option while you click on iTunes, then choose "existing library" and browse to your iTunes folder and select the iTunes Library file and see what happens. Report back if your iTunes Library file is corrupt.
