Airplay is a wireless streaming protocol. It allows content to be pushed from the iPad through the Apple TV onto your connected HDTV.
If she wants to see the iPad displayed on the big screen and/or play games that involves mirroring. As long as it's an iPad 2 (or later) then you will be fine. More info on both has been referened below

I did find an error log related to the error code and tried all suggestions on the list of recommendations, still no luck
I definitely am running OS X10.5.8 (hopefully will be updating later on this month)
I tried several brand new discs from the same box, still no luck.
My last option is to go out and try a different brand, guess I'll go with Verbatim this time but I think I'll poke around some more before buying 20 more new discs.

No, that is not possible. An iPad can only be linked to one iTunes account at a time. For this you should have to reinstall the iPad every time you allow him and reinstall when you get it back. Sorry, but the iPad was designed as a personal device from the ground up and it does not support any kind of multiple users/ multiple accounts.
You can setup your iPad with Parental controls to prevent him from doing any app or in-app purchases and to hide any adult-only content.

Actually, i figured part of it out. When I'm playing itunes to my Apple Tv and Airport Express stations around the house, then turn on the mirroring, the itunes volume bar goes all the way to zero. I can bring it back up manually, and it will play on Apple TV, but it won't broadcast to multiple Airport Express speakers, the way it was doing before I turned on mirroring. It seems that mirroring turns off the airport express stations.

The Zombie Farms game is free but "in App" purchases during game play are not. You are being charged for the purchase of "50 brains" not for the game itself.
Note that if you purchased this game after entering your password, etc. there may be a period of time where someone can play the game and make purchases without needing to re-enter the password.

Doubtful. PC games use a different operating system so they're not compatible. Your game manufacturers would h ave to make app versions of their games, so the burden is on them to be compatible with Apple, not for Apple to alter their OS to work with games.

Is the media already on the iPad? If not, iTunes purchases can be redownloaded if they are still available in iTunes. Non-iTunes purchases would need to be synced from iTunes on a computer.

My friends iPad isn't acting under the same apple id as her iPod although it is so she cannot FaceTime or I'm from her IPad and what should have happened is her devices should have streamed as one cloud under her apple I'd between her devices.

I assume he has to be logged into my network. if so, can we choose his library w/out having to do so using the TV? I only have apple tv connected to my audio receiver and not my tv.

In theory I think this should work, as Home Sharing is separate to Airtunes/Airplay.
The AppleTV being Airplay capable should broadcast this service availability over the network. Friend should be able to detect it and Airplay provided he's connected to your local network over wi-fi, though he clearly won't see your Home Share content on his iPad unless you configure that for him which from the sounds of it you don't want to do anyway.

Just get copies of the song files and add them to your iTunes library. With the exception of any DRM-protected files (purchased before mid-2009 and never upgraded) they will play fine, even though they are technically associated with the original account.

Yes, actually there is a free Nook app. It does not offer in app book purchases, but syncs to the Barnes and Noble account (book are actually purchased from the web site and then downloaded in the app).

sales at AppStore are based upon 'users'= accounts; if the other Mac is running under your account, you can download and install a copy of iMovie 'for free' (the ToU of Appstore allow to install purchases on as many computers you own = running under your account)
If the other Mac is running under a different account, you have to log-in at AppStore under those account, and purchase it it.
