For the "Arangements" option to appear, the external display must be turned on with the correct input selected and connected to the computer. Then close system prefs, reopen, go to "Display" and "Arrangement" will be along the top.

When you open iTunes and plug in iPhone (iPod) to computer, it appear in the left bar. Then just simply right click on you iPhone (iPod) and choose Transfer Purchases, this should copy your purchased items to your computer.

Hi! In order to connect a macbook pro to a projector you will need to purchase this cable and attack it to the cable from the projector. This way you have a connector that can be plugged into your computer:

If you already own this cable and are having problems mirroring the display from your computer on the projector screen, go to system preferences>displays and then hit arrangement tab (note: this will only appear if the projector or external monitor is attached) and then hit the checkbox that says mirror display.

Ok on my iPad 3 I pad to change my password everyday, so I reset it now it's fine but bigger problem I can't connect to wifi at home with out it asking for proxy ip server and a bunch of things . Very frustrating can't connect to any other than my tmobli

OK people who is able to help me fall back in love with my ipad3? Here go, I was in love then I lost it when I had to change my password every time I got back on. So it told me to reset it . I did. It worked yay.!!
so now I was trying to get online sitting outside my house an I was asked to put in password and ip address along with other weird things I had never had to do befor. So even inside it tells me to do this , so someone please help me please thank you.

Lenovo G450 - Want to connect VGA to Plasma TV with HDMI inputs

I was hoping to get some verification on this from someone that owns a Lenovo G450 Model 2949. I want to understand if I can connect this notebook to my older plasma TV through the VGA output connector. My TV supports S-video, HDMI and Component. Can I purchase any one of those types of VGA to S-video/HDMI/Component connectors and it will work? Will there be any loss of quality when you push the laptop video signal onto the television?

Welcome to the forums
The quality of the display would remain like a normal vga connection as your laptop does not support hdmi/no hdmi port. So it is better hooking up via a vga cable.

TS1398 I am unable to connect iPhones to our home wifi. Other devices work fine.

Recently, I was having issues with our D-Link Dir-665. I did a factory reset to it on the routers settings (ie. 192.168.0.1). I was able to succsessfully connect my laptop, as well as our Kindle Fire HD. However, when trying to connect our iPhones (4 & 4s), it does not even see the SSID. So, we tried setting it up under "other network" and it says "Could not find network". After searching some other forums we also ended up reseting the network settings, hard resets and syncing the devices as well. All to no avail. . The router gives the option to add the device but requires a PIN from the devices (not really sure if this will even help)...
When I reset the router I am sure it probably reset things like the WPA and channels etc. I am pretty lost at this point. Help

I was able to do a full reset on the router (pushing the tiny button near the power input). Then ran through the setup process and it started working on my device.

VPN connection from Mac at home to pc network at work

Hope someone can help as I'm lost on this..... Was using a pc laptop and had basic settings to connect to my work network: IP address of the VPN concentrator (Cisco 3000), username and a password.
Have now upgraded (at least I thought it was an upgrade!?) to MacBookPro 2.6 using 10.4.11 and tried to connect using Mac VPN with no success so tried IPSecuritas which seems like over kill but still no luck. Guess I am no use at networking!!
Any advice would be most welcome.

Hi, I have Apple Remote Desktop and use it to monitor, update and service clients servers. I also have client's buy ARD to use internally to access, update and maintain computers on the network.
When I try to access/sign-in to a server with ARD, when it's running ARD, it will not connect.
What is the proper way to ARD into a server and still be able to run ARD on the server to connect with and work on other computers on the local network?

On the client server install of ARD, open ARD, select preferences, select security tab, and make sure "allow control of this computer when ARD is running" is selected.

Ran 10.5.5 Combo Update at home on pb - got to work - No internet!

I ran the 10.5.4 + 10.5.5 combo update on my Powerbook at home last night. All seemed fine and my home wireless continued working afterwards.
I get to work this morning and find I'm unable to connect either to the non-password-protected office Wifi or the ethernet network. Normally both of these work automatically and instantly.
The office iT guy can't find any faults on the network and everyone else in the office is connecting fine. The only thing that's changed is, as far as I can tell, my OS upgrade!
Has anyone else found this? I'm repairing disk permissions just to see if that does anything. So annoying.

Fixed. I had to do set my firewall to allow all connections. This allowed Network Prefs to reset its DHCP settings. Then I reverted back to my usual firewall settings. All good now.
