I want to download a free app but, when I'm about to finish it, it says that I have a problem with the billing and that I have to provide valid credit card info to continue...

The thing is, I've never used my credit card to buy a thing on the app store... and when I go to the purchase history, there's nothing...
I've tryied to change credit cards, and I always calls invalid, that I've got the numbers wrong... but I've put them right...
what should I do?

It sounds like you are trying to download a free app, and when prompted to enter a credit card it is declined. I would use this article to go into iTunes and change your payment method to None:
Change or remove your payment information from your iTunes Store account (Apple ID)

I've got a similar problem. iTunes v10.2 worked fine, but when I tried to update it to 10.5 I got a 'Bonjour' error. I eventually solved that but I still couldn't upgrade to 10.5, so I deleted every single Apple, Quicktime, iTunes, etc file on my PC using Revo Unistaller (because the normal Windows Add/Delete programs wouldn't work) but now, when I install the latest iTunes version from scratch (on XP SP3), it says: "the installer encountered errors before it could be configured.... your system has not been modified"
Any ideas?

The iTunes Store typically does not take prepaid "credit" cards since they normally have no billing address associated against which to verify. Why the card worked before but not now I don't know, though Apple has been tightening up their security and that may have finally caught up with that card. You can try contacting the iTunes Store and asking if there is any way to use your card, but they may just tell you that it's not possible.

If it is not, then you will need to use a true credit card or purchase prepaid ITunes cards, if Apple has issued them in your country.

Repair your Apple software update.
Go to START/ALL PROGRAMS/Apple Software Update. If it offers you a newer version of Apple Software Update, do it but Deselect any other software offered at the same time. Once done, try another iTunes install
If you don't find ASU, go to Control Panel:
START > CONTROL PANEL > Add n Remove Programs / highlight ASU and click CHANGE then REPAIR,

In case you have accidentally purchased anything, you will have a receipt within a couple of days to your mail id. You can reverify the purchase, if any.

You can create an iTune and App Store account without credit card details
1. Sign out of current Apple ID if you are sign-in to one (important)
2. Go to App Store and select a free app
3. Tap INSTALL APP
4. Create New Apple ID
5. Confirm Your Country
6. Agree with Terms and Conditions
7. Fill in your Apple ID and Password (you must create a new Apple ID; don't use your old Apple ID)
8. Create and answer your secret question
9. Select NONE for Payment Method
10. Fill in Billing Address
11. Submit application for new Apple ID
12. Wait for verification email
13. When email arrive, verify your account
14. Start downloading your free apps

Apple set up the App and iTunes store to require a valid payment method evn for free apps.
You can however set up a new App store account withut a credit card. That account is only good for free apps.

If you are within 14 days of purchase you can still return the iPhone and get the phone that suits your needs, however, I think you will find that no matter which phone you get the content provider will want to know how you are going to pay for future purchases. For Android phones it is Google, and they will certainly want to know.

I've done a search on here and haven't found any solutions posted for it for windows computers. You could try posting in the iTunes For Windows forum and see if you get any suggestions in there (are you able to download other items from the store e.g. a free app ?) - I use a Mac, the only things that I could think of to suggest trying is see if you get the same error on a different iTunes library :
creating and/or opening a different iTunes library : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1589
or using a different user account on your computer in case it's a problem with that user account.
But you may want to try the iTunes For Windows forum first, apart from anything else you are likely to get better help for the above

Is this a new account? Even though its a free app the account holder needs to be verified by a verifiabel payment method. Once the account is created, you can remove the info.
